Hey everyone! I recently bought a dress that I absolutely love, but it doesn’t fit perfectly. It's a bit loose around the waist and slightly long for my height. I’m considering getting it altered, but I’ve never done this before. How does the alteration process work? Is it expensive? Also, how do I find a good tailor? I don’t want to risk ruining the dress since it’s made of delicate fabric. Any tips on what to ask for or things I should be aware of before taking it in? Would love to hear your experiences and advice!

Supporting her in this process is a great idea! One thing that might help is to look through fashion magazines or even online blogs together. You could create a mood board with styles she finds appealing. This gives her an opportunity to see what resonates with her without feeling overwhelmed. Once she has an idea, you could go shopping with her or even gift her a piece you know she’ll love to boost her confidence in her new style. Make sure to remind her that this is her journey and that you’re there for her every step of the way, encouraging her to stay true to what she feels best in.

I think the best way to help her would be to start with a conversation about her preferences. Ask her what styles she’s been thinking about, what she feels she’s missing in her current wardrobe, and what makes her feel confident when she dresses. If she’s unsure, maybe offer to go shopping together and explore different styles. This way, you’re actively involved in her journey, and it also gives her the space to express what she feels comfortable with. Encourage her to try something new, but let her lead the way. And the most important, you could go to Dress Alterations services in one of London boutique and they may help you in a best possible way
