Philosophy
Philosophy can be defined as: “ 1 the use of reason and argument in seeking knowledge and truth of reality, esp. of the causes and nature of things and of the principles governing existence, the material universe, perception of physical phenomena, and human behavior. 2 a a particular system or set of beliefs reached by this. b a personal rule of life. 3 advanced learning in general (doctor of philosophy). 4 serenity; calmness; conduct governed by a particular philosophy. [philosophia wisdom (as PHILO-, sophos wise)]” [1]
It is noteworthy that “philo-” is a combining form “denoting a liking for what is specified,” such that “philosophy” becomes the love of wisdom. This is very distinct from seeking truth and knowledge. Wisdom far exceeds both knowledge and truth. It is the use of such tools, “experience and knowledge together with the power of applying them critically or practically.” Wisdom is perception, perceptiveness, percipience, perspicuity, perspicacity, and prudence. (As in The Tao of Pooh.) It could even be thought of as enlightenment.
In addition to wisdom, “sophy” (from Sophia, the Goddess of Wisdom) can be thought of as “the study, knowledge, and wisdom of...”. If we further break down “philo” to “phi” and “lo” -- and “lo” means “the amazing sight” (as in “lo and behold”), then philosophy also means, “the study, knowledge, and wisdom of the amazing sight of... phi.” Meanwhile, phi is the Greek letter which is used to denote the Golden Mean, a ratio or number which equals 0.618033987... (or 1.618033987... -- the two numbers being interchangeable).
Philosophy as per our first set of definitions (which covers really a lot of ground), and even as a love of wisdom (in its highest connotations), can simultaneously be thought of as the study, knowledge, and wisdom of a numerical ratio! This latter fact is evidence of the vast importance of Sacred Mathematics as an integral part of philosophy.
Now, which would you rather study? All the machinations and bewildering thoughts of mentally rearranged minds like Nietsche (who advocated the concept of the Superman, an idea which Nazi Germany took to an extreme), Peanuts (as in The Gospel According to...), Decartes (“I think, therefore I am”), Bush (“I don’t think, therefore I am President”), Spinoza, and so forth and so on? Or would you prefer the logic, purity, and inherent predictability of mathematics, a field without the bias of interpretation?
Whichever you choose, it is wise (i.e. the use of wisdom, perspicacity, etceteras) to remember that when Rene Decartes, the French philosopher, died, the funeral bier on which his body was taken to the cemetery was pushed by a horse, instead of being drawn in the traditional way. This was the first example of “putting Decartes before de horse.” Now, dis is philosophy!
Xenophobia is often thought of as ‘fear of strangers’, but is more likely, “an abnormal or morbid fear or aversion” (phobia) of anything “strange, foreign, or stranger” (xeno) Xenophobia is thus contrary to philosophy, wherein wisdom requires a xenocuriosity. Which is the basis for this extended website -- in case you were wondering.
But consider the case of strangers in our midst. Evan Hodkins has noted that “Philoxenia is the Greek word for hospitality. The literal meaning is ‘love of strangers’.” But enlarge this concept of stranger to include any strange or foreign event. Even then, “A stranger is different from both enemy and friend. The stranger is an emissary from the unknown, the placeholder of surprise, the instrument of Divine interruption, the speaker of stunning revelations. Foreigners come to us from beyond the borders and boundaries of our insularity and deliver new perspectives.” [2]
“When relationships of destiny insinuate themselves, we call it b’shert in Hebrew, kismet in Arabic.” It’s the orchestration of apparent chance encounters, where we suddenly find in an event or another person the delights of an “ancient belonging.”
Thus true philosophy can be viewed as the strange, the unknown, the foreign, all being things to be welcomed. Even adversities. For they bring their own form of gifts, and with an increasing wisdom, an ever expanding love of wisdom, our philosophy will always find an honored place in our home for all such emissaries from beyond.
At the same time, it must be remembered that a society which honors philosophers and does not honor plumbers will have neither philosophies nor plumbing which hold water.

Golden Ratio
The golden section is a line segment divided according to the golden ratio: The total length a + b is to the length of the longer segment a as the length of a is to the length of the shorter segment b
In mathematics and the arts, two quantities are in the golden ratio if the ratio of the sum of the quantities to the larger quantity is equal tothe ratio of the larger quantity to the smaller one. The golden ratio is an irrationalmathematical constant, approximately 1.6180339887.[1] Other names frequently used for the golden ratio are the golden section (Latin: sectio aurea) and golden mean.[2][3][4] Other terms encountered include extreme and mean ratio,[5] medial section,divine proportion, divine section (Latin:sectio divina), golden proportion, golden cut,[6] golden number, and mean of Phidias.[7][8][9] In this article the golden ratio is denoted by the Greek lowercase letter phi (  ) , while its reciprocal,  or  , is denoted by the uppercase variant Phi ( ).

The ark of the Covenant
Detailed instructions[10] are given by God for the plan of the Ark: it is to be 2½ cubits in length, 1½ in breadth, and 1½ in height (as 21⁄2×11⁄2×11⁄2 royal cubits or 1.31×0.79×0.79 m). Then it is to be plated entirely with gold, and a crown or molding of gold is to be put around it. Four rings of gold are to be put into its four feet—two on each side—and through these rings staves of shittim-wood overlaid with gold for carrying the Ark are to be inserted; and these are not to be removed. A golden cover, adorned with golden cherubim, is to be placed above the Ark.
Although perhaps not immediately obvious, phi and the golden section also appear in the Bible.

In Exodus 25:10, God commands Moses to build the Ark of the Covenant, in which to hold His Covenant with the Israelites, the Ten Commandments, saying,
"Have them make a chest of acacia wood-
two and a half cubits long,
a cubit and a half wide,
and a cubit and a half high."

The ratio of 2.5 to 1.5 is 1.666..., which is as close to phi (1.618 ...) as you can come with such simple numbers and is certainly not visibly different to the eye. The Ark of the Covenant is thus constructed using the Golden Section, or Divine Proportion. This ratio is also the same as 5 to 3, numbers from the Fibonacci series.
In Exodus 27:1-2, we find that the altar God commands Moses to build is based on a variation of the same 5 by 3 theme:
"Build an altar of acacia wood, three cubits high; it is to be square, five cubits long and five cubits wide."

In Genesis 6:15, God commands Noah to build an ark saying,
"And this is the fashion which thou shalt make it of: The length of the ark shall be three hundred cubits, the breadth of it fifty cubits, and the height of it thirty cubits."
Thus the end of the ark, at 50 by 30 cubits, is also in the ratio of 5 to 3, or 1.666..., again a close approximation of phi not visibly different to the naked eye. Noah's ark was built in the same proportion as ten arks of the covenant placed side by side.

Revelation 13:18 says the following:
"This calls for wisdom. If anyone has insight, let him calculate the number of the beast, for it is a man's number. His number is 666."

This beast, regarded by some as the Anti-Christ described by John, is thus related to the number 666, one of the greatest mysteries of the Bible.Curiously enough, if you take the sine of 666º, you get -0.80901699, which is one-half of negative phi, or perhaps what one might call the "anti-phi." You can also get -0.80901699 by taking the cosine of 216º, and 216 is 6 x 6 x 6.
The trigonometric relationship of sine 666º to phi is based on an isosceles triangle with a base of phi and sides of 1. When this triangle is enclosed in a circle with a radius of 1, we see that the lower line, which has an angle of 306º on the first rotation and 666º on the second rotation, has a sine equal to one-half negative phi.
In this we see the unity of phi divided into positive and negative, analogous perhaps to light and darkness or good and evil. Could this "sine" be a "sign" as well?
In addition, 666 degrees is 54 degrees short of the complete second circle and when dividing the 360 degrees of a circle by 54 degrees you get 6.66... The other side of a 54 degree angle in a right angle is 36 degrees and 36 divided by 54 is .666.
Phi appears throughout creation, and in every physical proportion of the human body. In that sense it is the number of mankind, as the mysterious passage ofRevelation perhaps reveals.

Cette remarque n'a pour but que de prouver que l'on peut tout coder à volonté. Je NE VEU pas choquer les lectrices qui auraient ce prénom mais l'héroine SOPHIE NEVEU étant descendante de Marie Madeleine selon Monsieur Dan Brown, elle est censée pouvoir mettre au monde un enfant dont la lignée remonterait directement à Jésus-Christ.
Le rôle de l'heroine SOPHIE NEVEU est tenue par l'actrice A. Tautou, née à Beaumont dans la banlieue Clermontoise. Ayant pressenti qu'elle jouerait un rôle majeur dans un film à caractère religieux prédominant, j'avais rédigé un chapitre "clin d'œil sur l'enlèvement" à partir du film "le fabuleux destin d'Amélie Poulain" qui lui a donné une renommée mondiale.
En part III du chapitre consacré au tsunami, j'avais écrit:

Si Jean parait être le plus jeune des apôtres, on peut raisonnablement penser que c'est certainement parce que Leonard de Vinci savait que l'apôtre avait plus de 90 ans lors de la rédaction de son Apocalypse sur l'île de Patmos.
En effet, ce tableau soudainement omniprésent dans notre environnement représentant la dernière cène liée au "Da Vinci code", prend un relief plus particulier si l'on étudie sa géométrie particulière basée sur le nombre PHI.

Le nombre PHI, appelé aussi "nombre d'or" est omniprésent dans la Nature et révèle le doigt divin à l'origine de la Création. Il a donc été tout naturellement plagié et appliqué par les falsificateurs et autres agents subversifs du Malin à travers les ges.
Le nom de ce nombre PHI vient de celui d'un architecte et sculpteur Grec Phidias qui l'utilisait à outrance pour réaliser ses temples païens.
Si on considère que la hauteur du Parthénon (dont Phidias est à l'inspirateur) à Athènes a pour valeur 1, sa largeur est alors de 1,618, soit PHI.
PHI = 1,618 soit PHI + 0 ou PHI - 0
1/PHI = 0,618 (2,61804697157 exactement) soit PHI - 1
[PHI x PHI] ou [PHI]2 = 2,618 (2,617924 exactement) soit PHI + 1
Si le nombre varie avant la virgule, il demeure irrationnellement pratiquement le même à sa suite comme ces deux opérations le prouvent.

Comme de nombreux croquis, esquisses et tableaux de Léonard de Vinci le montrent, le nombre PHI, en filigrane blasphématoire, sous tend les harmonies géométriques de base. En mesurant la distance qui sépare le nombril du sommet de la tête d'un être humain puis celle qui sépare le nombril du sol, le rapport des deux mesures obtenues donnent 1,618 et 0,618.
Le nombril existe depuis la faute Adamique. A la naissance, il divise le corps humain en deux, puis évolue alternativement vers le haut et le bas de cette mesure médiane selon les rapports 2/1, 3/2, 5/3, 8/5, 13/8 pour finalement se stabiliser à l'ge adulte à une valeur voisine de 1,618.
Sur son tableau de la cène, Léonard de Vinci a intégré ce rapport avec la largeur des portes latérales, selon leur succession adjacente, en partant du fond de la scène.

Put this into 4 x 4 x 5 configuration and the angle is that of the slope of the Great Pyramid. It's also the seven angles in a seven pointed star.

Turns out the Birthquake latitude is exactly 1.618 times that of the Tropic of Cancer (~23.44° North), i.e. Golden Ratio. (Big thanks to reader "Azazel" for discovering this and independently noting Elenin's pentagrammic approach to Earth.)

The Tropic of Cancer is the Sun's summer solstice angle (declination) reflected on the surface of the Earth, therefore a "hyperlink" to Prince William who was born on the summer solstice, now rising like the phoenix having gone through the "Wedding of the Century" back on April 29, 2011.

Here is an interesting read on Stargates and 19.47
In terms of Richard Hoagland's ' hyperdimensional physics' derived from the geometric 'message' of Cydonia (Mars), the conduit or 'stargate' between this world  and the Otherworld (i.e. hyperspace) is prominently represented by the angle 19.5°. According to the theory, it is the tetrahedral geometry signified by this angle that enables inter-dimensional energy transfer between the two realms.
 This 'stargate' geometry is expressed by a circumscribed tetrahedron (made up of four equilateral triangles). Interestingly enough, the hieroglyphic sign denoting Sirius was a triangle in ancient Egypt.
The connection is made evident by archaeo-astronomy. First, it is widely accepted these days that the 'air shafts' inside the Great Pyramid were designed to aligned with certain stars. One was specifically targeted toward Sirius in c. 2350 BC.
And at that pinpointed time (c. 2350 BC), Sirius and Orion's Alnitak (representing the Great Pyramid as per the Orion Correlation Theory) together produced the angle 19.5° (when Sirius was rising on the Giza horizon).[10]
 
Next, it is natural - given the Sirius-Great Bend connection - to wonder about the possibility of the Nile's 'Winding Waterway' having some relevance to tetrahedral geometry. Indeed, we do find a clear connection!
Believe it or not, the northern peak of the Great Bend precisely pinpoints the tetrahedral/stargate latitude, 19.5°N.!
What's even more incredible is the fact that the same Bend peak also pinpoints 33°E longitude. As those familiar with Hoagland's work would surely know, '33' and '19.5' are considered the two key numbers in the 'hyperdimensional code'! (Hoagland is just not yet aware of this Nile connection.)
In 1997, the esoteric importance of those numbers was overtly demonstrated as NASA landed a tetrahedron-shaped Mars Pathfinder lander on the Red Planet at 19.5 N and 33 W.! (That's pretty in your face, isn't it?)

Saturn reveals a golden ratio phi relationship in several of its dimensions
The diameter of Saturn is in a phi relationship with the diameter of its rings, as illustrated by the green lines.The inner ring division is in a phi relationship with the diameter of the rings outside the sphere of the planet, as illustrated by the blue lines.The Cassini division in the rings of Saturn falls at the Golden Section of the width of the lighter outside section of the rings.

A closer look at Saturn’s rings reveals a darker inner ring which exhibits the same golden section proportion as the brighter outer ring.
Venus and Earth reveal a golden ratio phi relationship
Venus and the Earth are linked in an unusual relationship involving phi. Start by letting Mercury represent the basic unit of orbital distance and period in the solar system:

Curiously enough we find:
Ö Period of Venus * Phi = Distance of the Earth
Ö 2.5490 * 1.6180339 = 1.5966 * 1.6180339 = 2.5833
In addition, Venus orbits the Sun in 224.695 days while Earth orbits the Sun in 365.242 days, creating a ratio of 8/13 (both Fibonacci numbers) or 0.615 (roughly phi.) Thus 5 conjunctions of Earth and Venus occur every 8 orbits of the Earth around the Sun and every 13 orbits of Venus.
Mercury, on the other hand, orbits the Sun in 87.968 Earth days, creating a conjunction with the Earth every 115.88 days. Thus there are 365.24/115.88 conjunctions in a year, or 22 conjunctions in 7 years, which is very close to Pi!

Note: We sometimes forget about the asteroids when thinking of the planets in our solar system. Ceres, the largest asteroid, is nearly spherical, comprises over one-third the total mass of all the asteroids and is thus the best of these minor planets to represent the asteroid belt. 2005 unveiled the discovery of a 10th planet called 2003UB313. It was found at a distance of 97 times that of the Earth from the Sun. Its ratio to Pluto would thus be 2.47224, much higher than any previous planet to planet orbital distance ratio. Could it be that this is actually the 11th planet and the 10th planet will be found at an orbit whose ratio is 1.52793 times that of Pluto, preserving the phi average? Time will only tell, but if it happens remember that you heard it here first.
The shape of the Universe itself is a dodecahedron based on Phi
New findings in 2003 based on the study of data from NASA’s Wilkinson Microwave Anisotropy Probe (WMAP) on cosmic background radiation reveal that the universe is finite and shaped like a dodecahedron, a geometric shape based on pentagons, which are based on phi. The the Universe page for more.
