Dear taxpayers and citizens, under the provisions of article 176.2.2 of the Municipal Code of Quebec, in order to ensure a greater transparency of the municipal administration, I am proud to present the highlights of the Municipality of the Township of Melbourne's 2019 financial report.
The consolidated financial statements as of December 31, 2019 were tabled at the regular council meeting municipal dated April 6, 2020. The consolidated financial statements and the summary information may be viewed at the municipal office located at 1257 route 243, Tax Accountants Melbourne, regular office hours. The Financial Report the financial statements as at December 31, 2019 show operating revenues of $1,789,252 and the investment income of $49,985 (grants), which generated total income of $1,839,237 for this fiscal year. The various municipal charges (expenses) totaled $2,043,372.
Taking into account the various reconciling elements for tax purposes (investment income, depreciation, allocations, etc.) the 2019 financial statements indicate an operating surplus for tax purposes of $41,343. External auditor's report the firm Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton, auditors of the Municipality, certifies that the statements consolidated financial statements present a true and fair view, in accordance with Canadian accounting standards for the public sector, the financial situation of the Municipality of the Township of Melbourne for the exercise concerned.
