The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation pagcor has started issuing licenses for pagcor online sabong operations. However, only two operators have been allowed to run full commercial pagcor online sabong operations. Come play in pagcor, you’ll find what you want in pagcor. The e-sabong industry is expected to contribute between P250 and P350 million to PAGCOR every month. Last year, the e-sabong industry earned P3.7 billion from Pagcor. In the first quarter of 2022, Pagcor reported net income of P624.7 million. This is expected to rise to P60-65 billion by the end of 2022. PAGCOR has issued a warning to e-sabong players to refrain from illegal activity and unregistered websites. It has also ordered an investigation into the agreements between e-sabong operators. If there is a violation, the agency has the power to suspend the e-sabong activity or order the operators to pay a fine of up to PHP 640 million. PAGCOR is working with the National Bureau of Investigation to combat e-sabong abuses. According to its guidelines, surveillance systems must cover all cockfighting operations, employee conduct, and arrests. Additionally, the e-sabong arenas must have four closed-circuit television cameras. These CCTV recordings must be stored for at least 30 days. E-Sabong has become a hot commodity in the Philippines as it provides a lucrative source of income to dozens of thousands of Filipinos. But this popularity has come at a cost. For one, the e-sabong industry has attracted a number of abusers. Some operators have been accused of kidnapping, torture, and slave labor. Others ran their businesses using any means necessary. Aside from the legal ramifications of e-sabong, there are social issues associated with the industry. According to the Department of Justice, the legality of e-sabong was still unclear. On February 21, 2017, the Liga ng Eksplosibong Pagbabago Inc. filed a petition for mandamus. While e-sabong is not yet a nationally regulated activity, the Philippine gambling industry is looking to bring the online betting game out of the shadows and make it a more regulated sport. Until then, regulated e-sabong players may be included in the future Philippine e-sabong legal framework. Meanwhile, a number of e-sabong players have also sought to suspend their operations. Among these are Lucky 8 Star Quest, Belvedere Vista Corp., and Jade Entertainment and Gaming Technologies Inc. Despite these requests, none of them have submitted application papers or performance bonds. Sabong is a traditional Filipino sport dating back hundreds of years. It involves placing two roosters in an arena. Bettors then place bets on which rooster will win. The roosters can be a live cockfight or a virtual one. Currently, the number of e-sabong operators has dwindled down to three major active players. Among these are the Newin Cockers Alliance Gaming Corporation, the Visayas Cockers Club, and the Belvedere Vista Corporation. All of these companies are linked to gaming tycoon Bong Pineda. The country's leading financial institution, Philippine Business Bank, has also expressed its concerns regarding the e-sabong industry. Chairman Roland Avante said that the activity puts a strain on the economy. He stated that the e-sabong industry has also been the victim of a number of incidents of kidnappings and slavery. |
