Introduction
Chanukah, also known as the Festival of Lights, begins on Kislev twenty-five, and ends, eight days later, in Tevet, the tenth month, on either the first or second day.[1] This festival is characterized by the lighting an increasing number of candles on each day. A total of thirty-six candles are lit during this eight day festival.
On the eight nights of Chanukah, Jews light the eight branched candlestick known as the Chanukiah. The Chanukiah is placed on the right side of the front door opposite the mezuzah.
Our Sages also teach that Chanukah is a second chance[2] to celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles (Succoth).
2 Maccabees 10:6-7 And they kept eight days with gladness, as in the feast of the tabernacles, remembering that not long afore they held the feast of tabernacles, when they wandered in the mountains and dens like beasts. Therefore, they bare branches, and fair boughs, and palms also, and sang psalms unto him that had given them good success in cleansing his place.
From a spiritual perspective Chanukah is eight days, even as Succoth is eight days, and we kindle eight candles because it has a connection with the Ohr Haganuz, hidden light, which will be revealed in its full glory in the days of Mashiach.
Because Chanukah is a second chance to celebrate the Festival of Succoth, we would expect to see that those who celebrate a “Festival of Lights” might celebrate it in the seventh month when the Feast of Tabernacles took place, or in the ninth or tenth month when Chanukah is celebrated. Succoth is also intimately associated with light.
During Succoth,[3] in the days of the Temple, the light of the world (four large candlesticks) were set up in the courtyard of the women.
Succah 51a MISHNAH. HE WHO HAS NOT SEEN THE REJOICING AT THE PLACE OF THE WATER-DRAWING HAS NEVER SEEN REJOICING IN HIS LIFE. AT THE CONCLUSION OF THE FIRST FESTIVAL DAY OF TABERNACLES THEY[4] DESCENDED[5] TO THE COURT OF THE WOMEN WHERE THEY HAD MADE A GREAT ENACTMENT. THERE WERE THERE GOLDEN CANDLESTICKS WITH FOUR GOLDEN BOWLS ON THE TOP OF EACH OF THEM AND FOUR LADDERS[6] TO EACH, AND FOUR YOUTHS DRAWN FROM THE PRIESTLY STOCK IN WHOSE HANDS WERE HELD JARS OF OIL CONTAINING ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY LOG WHICH THEY POURED INTO THE BOWLS.
FROM THE WORN-OUT DRAWERS AND GIRDLES OF THE PRIESTS THEY MADE WICKS AND WITH THEM THEY KINDLED THE LAMPS; AND[7] THERE WAS NOT A COURTYARD IN JERUSALEM THAT WAS NOT ILLUMINED BY THE LIGHT OF THE PLACE OF THE WATER-DRAWING.
The Hasmoneans (the Maccabees) celebrated Chanukah in the 165 B.C.E.[8] time period.[9] However, they celebrated it at that time because that was the designated time for Chanukah events to occur. Chanukah type events always occur during this time frame, every year! Chanukah was ordained by HaShem from the beginning, as we can see in the Gemara:
Avodah Zarah 8a GEMARA. Said R. Hanan b. Raba: KALENDA[10] is kept on the eight days following the [winter] equinox. SATURNALIA[11] on the eight days preceding the equinox. As a mnemonic take the verse, Thou hast beset me behind and before.[12]
Our Rabbis taught: When primitive Adam saw the day getting gradually shorter, he said, ‘Woe is me, perhaps because I have sinned, the world around me is being darkened and returning to its state of chaos and confusion; this then is the kind of death to which I have been sentenced from Heaven!’ So he began keeping an eight days’ fast. But as he observed the winter equinox and noted the day getting increasingly longer, he said, ‘This is the world's course’, and he set forth to keep an eight days’ festivity. In the following year he appointed both[13] as festivals. Now, he fixed them for the sake of Heaven, but the [heathens] appointed them for the sake of idolatry.
Thus we see that the festival of Chanukah was instituted by Adam very close to the beginning of time. This early celebration of the Festival of Lights was called “Adam’s festival”.
As we go forward in time, from the days of Adam, we find several allusions to Chanukah in the Torah.[14]
- In the original Hebrew, the twenty-fifth word in the Torah is Ohr - אור, light. We begin lighting the Chanukah lights on the twenty-fifth day of the ninth month called Kislev. We continue lighting for eight days till the beginning of Tevet, the tenth month.
- When the Bne Israel[15] traveled in the desert, on their way from Egypt to the land of Israel, the twenty-fifth place that they camped was Chashmonah. This alludes to the priestly family of Chashmonaim (Hasmoneans) who led the Maccabee armies in the battle against the Greeks, and rested on the twenty-fifth day of Kislev.
- The 23rd chapter of Vayikra (Leviticus) describes HaShem’s holidays in order, starting with Shabbat. Immediately afterwards, in the beginning of chapter 24, we find the commandment to light the Menorah in the Temple. This is a hint to a holiday connected to the lighting of the Menorah.[16]
- The 7th chapter of Bamidbar (Numbers) describes the offerings that the tribal leaders brought when the Tabernacle was dedicated. Chapter 8 begins: HaShem spoke to Moshe, saying: “Speak to Aaron and say to him: ‘When you light the lamps, the seven lamps shall cast their light toward the face of the menorah.’” We thus see a connection between the dedication of the Temple and the lighting of the Menorah. After the Maccabean war ended, the Jews cleaned, repaired and rededicated the Temple, and lit the Menorah once again.
Thus we have additional hints, in the Torah, that Chanukah was in the mind of HaShem when He created the world.
As we go forward in time we find an allusion to Chanukah in the Tanakh.
The Prophet Chaggai alluded to Chanukah in his prophecy:
Chaggai (Haggai) 2:18 Consider now from this day and upward, from the four and twentieth day of the ninth month, even from the day that the foundation of HaShem’s temple was laid, consider it. 19 Is the seed yet in the barn? yea, as yet the vine, and the fig tree, and the pomegranate, and the olive tree, hath not brought forth: from this day will I bless you.
From this prophecy we see that the first full day of the laying of the foundation for the second Temple was on Kislev twenty-five,[17] the twenty-fifth day of the ninth month. Thus the Temple and its light are associated with Chanukah, The Festival of Light.
This date for the laying of the foundation of the second Temple is so significant that the Syrian-Greeks will specifically choose this day to defile the Temple, in 162 B.C.E. The Temple, built for the glory of HaShem, was defiled by idolaters, transforming it into a place that would combine Jewish faith with a universal, Hellenistic vision. For this reason they placed their idol in the Temple, choosing specifically the twenty-fifth of Kislev as the day for this desecration, so as to correspond with the original day of the laying of the foundation of the Second Temple. This was a deliberate attempt to offend the religious public, which they defined as a group of zealots.
Three years after the desecration of the Temple by the Syrian-Greeks, Yehuda Maccabee and his brothers planned the rededication of the altar and of the Temple as a whole for the anniversary of its defilement, the day of the oil, and they celebrated the festival of Succoth in the ninth month, “with myrtle branches and citron branches and palm branches, for eight days, with joy and festivity”.[18] They thereby instituted for all generations the parallel between the dedication of the Temple in the days of King Solomon, on Succoth,[19] The laying of the foundation for the second Temple, and its rededication in Kislev in the days of the Hasmoneans, with a further parallel between the ingathering of the grain and the wine and the ingathering of the olives, as celebrations of equal weight.
Before we get too far ahead of ourselves, lets continue looking at another allusion to Chanukah, before the days of the Hasmoneans, as detailed by our Sages, in the Mishna.
We see that the Oral Torah given to Moshe on Mount Sinai also has an allusion to Chanukah.
Bikkurim Chapter 1:6. HE WHO BUYS TWO TREES [THAT HAD GROWN] IN PROPERTY BELONGING TO HIS FELLOW BRINGS BIKKURIM BUT IS NOT TO MAKE THE RECITAL. R. MEIR SAYS: HE ALSO MAKES THE RECITAL. IF THE WELL DRIED UP, OR THE TREE WAS CUT DOWN, HE BRINGS BUT DOES NOT RECITE. R. JUDAH SAYS: HE BRINGS AND RECITES. FROM PENTECOST TILL SUKKOTH[20] ONE MAY BRING [BIKKURIM] AND MAKE THE RECITAL; FROM SUKKOTH TILL HANUKAH,[21] ONE MAY BRING, BUT DOES NOT MAKE THE RECITAL. R. JUDAH B. BATHYRA SAYS: ONE MAY BRING AND ALSO MAKE THE RECITAL.
Apparently, while the holiday of Chanukah is a later development, this time of the year is agriculturally significant because the agricultural aspect of first fruits (bikkurim) serves to purify the cosmic festival, instituted by Adam, which had become a pagan celebration. The natural agricultural cycle of the Land of Israel is such that the end of the olive season (and thus the end of the first fruits season) falls in the last week of Kislev. This creates a situation in which the celebration of the first fruits with olive oil coincides with the natural, universally recognized need to create light at this time of darkness. Thus the light of pure olive oil, from the produce of the land brought as first fruits to the Temple, replaces the impure, pagan “light and fire,” thereby illuminating the world with purity emanating from the holiness of the land and of the Temple.
A connection between Chanukah and Succoth is also found among the prophesies of Haggai. He was one of the last prophets and one of the Anshei Knesset HaGedolah, The Men of the Great Assembly. He lived during the reign of King Darius of Persia, who according to the Midrash was the son of Achashverosh and Esther, and he sanctioned and encouraged the construction of the second Beit HaMikdash which had begun in the days of Cyrus[22] but was subsequently discontinued for eighteen years.
Haggai conveyed the following
Haggai 2:1,6 In the seventh month [Tishre] on the twenty first of the month, the seventh day of Succoth, which is called Hoshana Rabbah, the word of HaShem came through Haggai the prophet saying ... for thus said HaShem, ‘there will be one more; it is a small one, I will shake the heavens and the earth and the sea and the dry land’.
The message of this prophecy was that in addition to the current subjugation under Persia, one more nation would subdue the Jews, the Greeks; but their domination would last only a short time.[23] HaShem was thus saying, “During the Greek rule, I will cause a major upheaval in the land”, a reference to the Hasmonean’s revolt against the Greeks and the miracle of Chanukah.
festival of lights is something that many cultures have in common with the Jews. Hindus have Diwali, the Buddhists have Loy Krathong (with water-borne and air-borne lanterns), the Chinese have their annual Lantern Festival, and I'm sure there are many more. Lighting displays have also been an important aspect for Christmas observers around the world.
Lets look at some of these observances and see how they compare to Chanukah, which has its source in Adam’s festival observance.
Background
While I was studying at the University, I met a young woman who told me that she, and other Hindus in India, celebrated the festival of lights[24] in the sixth and seventh month of the Hindu calendar, on the day of the new moon. This corresponds to the Gregorian months of October and November. This got me wondering about connections to Chanukah, which is also called The Festival of Lights.
I have known for some time that Christians also celebrate a festival of lights on December 25. Christmas is sometimes called in the Latin Church the Feast of Lights, so many candles are used. What is fascinating is that this festival takes place in the tenth month, yes, the tenth month, on the twenty-fifth day. While everyone knows that December is the twelfth month of the Gregorian calendar, not so many realize that December means the tenth month in Latin. Thus the name December testifies to the fact that this time period was known in earlier times as the tenth month. The Biblical calendar does, indeed, call this time period Tevet, which is the tenth month of the Biblical calendar. Clearly the ancient Roman calendar also acknowledged that this is the time for the tenth month.
On the twelve days of Christmas,[25] Between Christmas and the Epiphany, Christian decorate the outside and inside of their houses with lights.
Christmas is also observed as an eight day festival from December 25 through January 1. Note the eight days: Dec. 25, Dec. 26, Dec. 27, Dec. 28, Dec. 29, Dec. 30, Dec. 31, Jan. 1. Many abstain from work during these days. Major manufacturers[26] often give their employees these days as vacation.
Further, some Christians celebrate the Feast of the Circumcision of Our Lord, which is a Christian celebration of the Brit milah (ritual circumcision) of Yeshua, eight days after his birth, the occasion on which the child was formally given his name, Yeshua, a name derived from Hebrew meaning salvation. The feast day appears on January 1 in the liturgical calendar of the Eastern Orthodox Church. It also appears in the pre-1960 General Roman Calendar, and is celebrated by some churches of the Anglican Communion and virtually all Lutheran churches.
Christmas is celebrated by attaching lights to their Christmas trees and to their homes.
Ganden Ngamcho is celebrated, by Buddhists, on the twenty-fifth day of the tenth month of the Tibetan calendar. On this night of the day, countless butter lamps are lit on the roofs of every monastery and lay person’s house. Its distinctive mark is the lighting of lamps and bonfires. This Tibetan Buddhist festival commemorates the birth and death of Tsongkhapa (1357-1419), a saintly scholar, teacher, and reformer of the monasteries, who enforced strict monastic rules.
The Tibetan calendar is lunar based and the tenth month corresponds to the Biblical calendar for Kislev (the ninth month). This means that Ganden Ngamcho falls on the first night of Chanukah!
When I realized that these four major religions, Judaism, Christianity, Buddhism, and Hinduism,[27] all had a major festival called the festival of lights, I knew that there had to be a common origin that was based in the Torah.
Salvation
Each of four great religions celebrate their festivals of lights to commemorate a great salvation for the people. In our introduction we demonstrated that Adam instituted the Feast of Lights (Chanukah) specifically to commemorate his own salvation from a world that was descending into darkness.

Since the origins of this festival were rooted in a great salvation, we would expect this theme to be picked up in the celebrations for the other great religions.
I would like to look at each of the great religions and how they recreate Adam’s salvation.
Chanukah
Chanukah, celebrated by Jews all over the world, celebrates the salvation of the Jews from the tyranny and slaughter of the Syrian-Greeks, in the days of the Maccabees. The Syrian Greeks were trying to remove Torah from the world. The Syrian-Greeks were trying to remove the Light of The World!
Christmas
Christmas is an official Christian holiday, celebrated in every Christian land, that celebrates the birth of Yeshua (Jesus) who was sent to save mankind from their sins. This is very interesting because the Tanakh[28] and the Nazarean Codicil[29] show clearly that Yeshua was born during the Feast of Tabernacles (Succoth), in the seventh month (Tishri), as we have shown in the study titled: BIRTH.
Now the Nazarean Codicil shows clearly that Christians regard Yeshua as The Light of The World.
Yochanan (John) 8:12 Then spake Yeshua again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.
The connection to Succoth becomes firm when we realize that Yeshua spoke these words in Jerusalem while observing the Light of the World in the Temple, as we saw in the Mishna earlier.
Diwali
Diwali is an official holiday in India, Guyana, Trinidad & Tobago, Mauritius, Malaysia, Nepal, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Myanmar and Fiji. This festival holds an message of salvation since the festival is reckoned with Lord Rama's victory as the King of Ayodhya after his return to the kingdom from 14 years of exile along with his wife Sita and brother Laxman after killing the demon, King Ravana.
The name Diwali is itself a contraction of the word Dīpāvali, which translates into row of lamps. Diwali involves the lighting of small clay lamps filled with oil to signify the triumph of good over evil, victory over darkness, knowledge over ignorance.
While Diwali is popularly known as the “festival of lights”, the most significant spiritual meaning is “the awareness of the inner light”.
Central to Hindu philosophy is the assertion that there is something beyond the physical body and mind which is pure, infinite, and eternal, called the Atman. Just as we celebrate the birth of our physical being, Diwali is the celebration of this inner light, in particular the knowing of which outshines all darkness (removes all obstacles and dispels all ignorance), awakening the individual to one's true nature, not as the body, but as the unchanging, infinite, immanent and transcendent reality.
The festival begins on Dhan Teras, the 13th day of the dark half of Asvina,[30] and ends on Yama Dvitiya, the 2nd day of the light half of Karttika.[31]
Diwali, the festival of lights, is on the twenty-fifth. That is the day when crackers burst and rockets soar.

4. Porque ninguno que procura darse a conocer hace algo en secreto. Si estas cosas haces, manifiéstate al mundo.
5. Porque ni aun sus hermanos creían en él.

18. El que habla por su propia cuenta, su propia gloria busca; pero el que busca la gloria del que le envió, éste es verdadero, y no hay en él injusticia.
19. ¿No os dio Moisés la ley, y ninguno de vosotros cumple la ley? ¿Por qué procuráis matarme?
20. Respondió la multitud y dijo: Demonio tienes; ¿quién procura matarte?
21. Jesús respondió y les dijo: Una obra hice, y todos os maravilláis.
22. Por cierto, Moisés os dio la circuncisión (no porque sea de Moisés, sino de los padres); y en el día de reposo circuncidáis al hombre.
23. Si recibe el hombre la circuncisión en el día de reposo, para que la ley de Moisés no sea quebrantada, ¿os enojáis conmigo porque en el día de reposo sané completamente a un hombre?
24. No juzguéis según las apariencias, sino juzgad con justo juicio.
25. Decían entonces unos de Jerusalén: ¿No es éste a quien buscan para matarle?
26. Pues mirad, habla públicamente, y no le dicen nada. ¿Habrán reconocido en verdad los gobernantes que éste es el Cristo?

37. En el último y gran día de la fiesta, Jesús se puso en pie y alzó la voz, diciendo: Si alguno tiene sed, venga a mí y beba.

39. Esto dijo del Espíritu que habían de recibir los que creyesen en él; pues aún no había venido el Espíritu Santo, porque Jesús no había sido aún glorificado.

Juan 9

3. Respondió Jesús: No es que pecó éste, ni sus padres, sino para que las obras de Dios se manifiesten en él.
4. Me es necesario hacer las obras del que me envió, entre tanto que el día dura; la noche viene, cuando nadie puede trabajar.
5. Entre tanto que estoy en el mundo, luz soy del mundo.
6. Dicho esto, escupió en tierra, e hizo lodo con la saliva, y untó con el lodo los ojos del ciego,
7. y le dijo: Ve a lavarte en el estanque de Siloé (que traducido es, Enviado). Fue entonces, y se lavó, y regresó viendo.

El Hebreo "Hanokh" o "Henoch", significa también "dedicado, consagrado", "Iniciado", y viene asimismo de la palabra "hanakh".
La palabra Hebrea "Chanoch" o "Hanokh" ("Henoch"), tiene el mismo significado que la palabra Hebrea "HANUKKÁH", y vienen de la misma raíz Hebrea "hanakh", y por lo tanto, son sinónimos.

Jánuca: Los Significados Ocultos del Dreidel

Jánuca y el Dreidel : La Unión de lo Sobrenatural y lo Natural
Encendemos las luminarias de Jánuca para difundir el milagroso poder de Dios que intervino en beneficio de los Macabeos. Los ocho días de Jánuca conmemoran el encendido milagroso de los siete brazos de la Menorá en el Templo Sagrado durante ocho días, conectando de esta manera los números 7 y 8. En la tradición judía, el número 7 representa un estado de perfección natural, por ejemplo el Shabat es el séptimo día de la semana, pero el número 8 representa un estado de perfección sobrenatural, como la circuncisión que es hecha en el niño de ocho días de vida. Entonces Jánuca reúne lo natural con lo sobrenatural, lo finito y lo infinito.
El Baal Shem Tov, fundador del movimiento jasídico, tenía un amor y afinidad especial por Jánuca más que por las otras festividades del año. Esto es así porque las velas de esta festividad representan el don innato del alma judía de esparcir luz e iluminar el mundo entero, incluso las naciones del mundo. El mensaje del Baal Shem Tov diseminado por el alma judía pone de relieve dos conceptos complementarios: que Dios crea la naturaleza de nuevo a cada momento y al mismo tiempo la impregna con un poder sobrenatural. Gracias a esta capacidad de unir lo natural y lo sobrenatural, la luz de las velas de Jánuca dará lugar eventualmente a la redención verdadera y completa.
El Dreidel
Una costumbre judía muy popular es jugar en Jánuca con el dreidel , también llamado trompo, perinola, etc. Juntos adultos y niños se reúnen alrededor de las luces de la menorá, girando la perinola para descubrir qué letra sale. ¿Cuál es el significado profundo de este acto, y qué pensamientos significativos podemos tener en mente mientras jugamos con el dreidel este Jánuca? Como veremos, al tirar la perinola frente a las luces de las candelas, estamos salvando las distancias entre la realidad finita y la infinita.
Las Cuatro Letras del Dreidel
Tradicionalmente el dreidel tiene cuatro caras. Lo primero que notamos es que cada una tiene grabada una letra del alfabeto Hebreo: nun ( נ ), guimel ( ג ), hei ( ה ) y shin ( ש ), las iniciales de la frase “Un gran milagro ocurrió allí”, nes gadol haiá sham . ( Zejariá 6:12)
Es de destacar que el valor numérico de las cuatro letras es 358, el valor numérico de Mashíaj, משיח ! El motivo recurrente que encontramos en los significados ocultos del dreidel , es el Mashíaj y la redención, cambiar el mundo y hacerlo una morada adecuada para el Creador.
En las generaciones pasadas, algunos judíos que vivían en la Tierra de Israel decidieron que era apropiado cambiar la última letra de “allá” (sham) por “aquí” (po), transformando la frase de acuerdo a estas iniciales en “Un gran milagro ocurrió aquí”. Según esta idea, las letras del dreidel, nun, guimel, hei, pei , suman 138, el valor de Menajem, uno de los nombres del Mashíaj de acuerdo con nuestros sabios; y es también el valor de la palabra Tzemaj el nombre del Mashíaj que aparece en el Tana'j “Tzemaj es su nombre…”
Cuando el Cuadrado se transforma en un Círculo
El dreidel tiene la forma de cono, con cuatro caras cuadradas y un cono cuya punta inferior puede dar vueltas. Hacerlo girar causa que sus contornos cuadrados desaparezcan redondeando sus aristas.
Conceptualmente, sus caras y aristas cuadradas representan la lógica matemática y silogística de la antigua Grecia, sobre las cuales triunfaron los Macabeos tanto material como espiritualmente. Los Macabeos, fieles a nuestra fe en un Dios, creían y sobre todo llevaban a la práctica su creencia de que una visión de la vida y la naturaleza basada sólo en el racionalismo humano es insuficiente. Porque hay además un Dios infinito que trae la realidad a la existencia sin límites. Entonces, los contornos redondeados revelados por el dreidel al girar representa el reino de lo Divino, que se manifiesta en forma de milagros, aquellos eventos que no pueden ser comprendidos e incluso a veces no pueden ser percibidos por la mente humana racional. 1
Utilizando la terminología del Jasidut, los contornos redondeados del dreidel girando representa la revelación de la luz abarcadora de Dios, refiriéndose a la energía con la cual el Todopoderoso sostiene la realidad. Este aspecto de Dios es descripto como circular porque Él sustenta a toda la realidad por igual, desde la partícula más diminuta hasta el cúmulo más enorme de galaxias. Así como el círculo no tiene arriba y abajo y todos los puntos de su circunferencia son equivalentes, desde la perspectiva de la luz abarcadora de Dios abarcadora o circundante de Dios, toda la realidad tiene igual importancia y es sostenida permanentemente. Así como Dios establece las leyes de la naturaleza, sólo Él tiene el poder de alterarlas.
En contraposición, la forma cuadrada del dreidel representa la experiencia constante de la luz interior de Dios, refiriéndose a la energía con la cual el Todopoderoso es percibido por nuestra conciencia. En otras palabras, es la capacidad de revelar las diferentes formas en que la Divinidad se inviste en las distintas partes de la naturaleza, según la diferente capacidad de percibir a Dios que tiene cada individuo. Por esta razón, la luz interior de Dios está asociada con una línea recta (como las del contorno de las caras del dreidel ), que tienen un principio y un final, que indica la existencia de una gradación.
La luz abarcadora o circundante (redonda) revela la naturaleza infinita de Dios; la luz interior (cuadrada) revela Su naturaleza finita. Los milagros suceden a partir de la luz abarcadora de Dios, desde Su naturaleza infinita.
Entonces nosotros no somos los únicos que jugamos con el dreidel . En cierto sentido, siempre que ocurre un milagro nos podemos imaginar que Dios también está jugando con Su enorme dreidel cósmico. Al girar este dreidel abstracto, Dios le da vueltas a Su luz interior, a Su naturaleza finita revelada tal como la experimentamos normalmente, difumando las reglas lógicas estrictas que gobiernan la realidad y permitiendo que Su naturaleza infinita se revele. Podríamos decir que Dios está continuamente haciendo girar los milagros en la naturaleza.
Al meditar en el acto de tirar nuestro propio dreidel de madera, nos conectamos e identificamos con lo Divino y demostramos nuestro deseo de ver más allá de la faceta cuadrada y lógica de la naturaleza. Tammuz

Como dios Dumuzi con su esposa Inanna en una escultura sumeria.
Tammuz (en árabe تمّوز, en hebreo תַּמּוּז) era una divinidad babilónica, consorte de Inanna, hijo de Nemrod y Ninsun. Es el dios pastor y de la fertilidad. (TAMMUZ ES CASI SIMILAR A TOMAS, EL ARQUITECTO, OSEA EL MAS MASON DE LOS APOSTOLES DIRECTOS DE CRISTO)
También Talmuz entre los semitas y Adonis para los fenicios y sirios. En el panteón sumerio, recibía el nombre de Dumuzi, y era llamado "El Pastor".
Su compañero eterno fue Ningizzida; ambos custodiaban las puertas del cielo. Él era un mortal, y su casamiento con Inanna le garantizó la fertilidad de la tierra y la fecundidad de la matriz. Pero más tarde, debido al comportamiento desaprensivo de Tammuz hacia Inanna, ésta lo envía al inframundo durante los seis meses más calurosos. Al volver, coincidiendo con el equinoccio de otoño, se dio su nombre al mes del calendario de la antigua Mesopotamia en su honor.
Dumuzi, habría sido el quinto o el sexto rey (dependiendo de la fuente) de la dinastía de Bad-Tibira, de los reyes antediluvianos.

16:5 y, al amanecer, se levantaron y avanzaron hacia la llanura. De pronto divisaron un numeroso ejército, compuesto de soldados y jinetes, que venía a su encuentro. Entre ellos se interponía un torrente.
16:6 Juan tomó posiciones con sus tropas frente al enemigo y, advirtiendo que sus hombres tenían miedo de pasar el torrente, lo pasó él primero. Al verlo, todos los demás lo siguieron.
16:7 Él había dividido su ejército en dos cuerpos, poniendo la caballería en medio de la infantería, porque la caballería del enemigo era muy numerosa.
16:8 En seguida tocaron las trompetas, y Cendebeo fue derrotado con todo su ejército. Muchos de ellos murieron y los restantes huyeron en dirección a la fortaleza.
16:9 Entonces fue herido Judas, el hermano de Juan. Este los persiguió hasta que Cendebeo entró en Cedrón, la fortaleza que había reconstruido.
16:10 Algunos huyeron también a las torres de los campos de Azoto. Juan las incendió, y murieron unos dos mil enemigos. Luego Juan regresó a Judea sano y salvo.
Muerte de Simón y sucesión de Juan
16:19 Además, mandó otros emisarios a Gázara con el encargo de matar a Juan y envió cartas a los oficiales del ejército, invitándolos a reunirse con él para obsequiarles oro, plata y otros regalos.
16:20 Finalmente, envió algunos hombres para que ocuparan Jerusalén y la montaña del Templo.
16:21 Pero alguien se adelantó y anunció a Juan en Gázara que su padre y sus hermanos habían muerto, y añadió: "Ha enviado gente para matarte también a ti".
16:22 Esta noticia lo dejó consternado. Entonces mandó arrestar a los hombres que venían a matarlo y los hizo ejecutar, porque sabía que pretendían asesinarlo.

Jeremías y el Arca de la Alianza
2:1 Consta en los archivos que el profeta Jeremías ordenó a los deportados que tomaran fuego, como ya se ha indicado,

There has been a tremendous amount of internet buzz and speculation regarding the dates of 9/23 and 9/24/2015. Some Christian groups were predicting the rapture. Others were predicting a major ISIS terrorist attack. Still others were expecting an assassination attempt on either Obama or the Pope. WW III, asteroid strikes, and EMPs were among the other candidates. The UFO crowd expected the Pope to finally disclose contact with extra-terrestrials. It is now 9/26 and the theatrics expected on 9/23 have been underwhelming to say the least. Nevertheless there was some highly significant symbolism occurring on the 23rd/24th day of September and I want to expound upon it here.
First of all, the Roman Catholic Church has never been primarily about Jesus or elevating the level of human consciousness on Spaceship Earth. It has always been about power and control over the rabble through the use of symbolism and mythology rooted in ancient astro-theological Solar/Saturn/Sirius cults going back through Egypt and Babylon. I will provide a few examples of the connections between Roman Catholic symbols and their ancient predecessors.
The Pope is often seen wearing the “Mitre” which symbolizes the open mouth of a fish. Fish symbolism is everywhere in Christianity and it is not just because the disciples were fishermen and Jesus made them “fishers of men”. Christianity began at the end of the age of Aries (the Ram) and the beginning of the age of Pisces (the Fish). When Jesus talks about “the end of the age”, this refers to the procession of the equinox through the zodiac which indicates the astrological “age”. These ages last about 2160 years so we are currently transitioning from the end of the age of Pisces to the beginning of the age of Aquarius. The Roman Catholic Church is therefore predictably beginning to abandon the Jesus fish for some new arrangement of deities or a new “Good Shepherd” that will be used to goad the sheeple into their pens throughout the Age of Aquarius.
But anyway… back to the Pope’s fish hat (Cardinals also wear them at times):
  
The fish hat was also worn prior to Christianity by the priests of Dagon. Dagon was a fish god and also a god of the harvest to the ancient Babylonians and Philistines. Cronus (to the Greeks) or Saturn (to Romans) was also a god of the harvest and we often see him with a scythe or sickle. Put them together and we have the fishes and the loaves. Dagon may also be related to Dogon and Sirius worship which had a special symbolism to Egyptians relating to the time of year when the Nile would flood. Sirius being in the constellation of Canis Major relates it to the Canine while the relation to Dogon or Dagon is probably how canines came to be called dogs. Dogon may also be related to the etymology of the Dragon. To this day we still call late summer, “The dog days of summer” thanks to Dogon or Dagon and Sirius’s signalling the waters of the Nile to flood.
Anyway… The Pope’s fish hat is related to Dagon or Dogon and astro-theological pre-Christian deities.
 
The fish hat is just one example of symbolism relating back to pre-Christian deities, but in the interests of time and space I’ll move on to symbolism more relevant to the Pope’s recent visit to D.C. on 9/23 and 9/24.
One of the most amazing and prominent architectural wonders of the Vatican is Saint Peter’s Basilica with its 448′ tall dome designed primarily by Bramante and Michelangelo. The basilica faces East to greet the rising sun and to its East is an elliptical plaza with an Egyptian Obelisk in the center. The Obelisk was transported from Egypt and re-erected in Rome around 37 AD.

The Egyptian obelisk represents the phallus of Osiris and the ellipse or vesica pisces (belly of the fish) in this case represents… well it should be obvious… intercourse with Isis. The adjacent dome represents the womb or breast of Isis where a god is made and nursed. This is why the mosaic inside of the dome of St. Peter’s Basilica shows Jesus and the saints on their way to heaven at the top and also why the inside of the D.C. Capitol dome has a painting showing George Washington ascending to heaven which is titled “The Apotheosis of George Washington.” Apotheosis literally means to become a god.

Okay, let’s get back to the Pope’s visit. This is the 266th Pope from the first – St. Peter. The Pope decided to arrive at Washington D.C. on 9/23 which happens to be the 266th day of the year. Why is that significant? On average, a woman is pregnant for 266 days before going into labor. In Genesis, it is said that labor pain is the first judgment God gave to mankind. The evening of 9/22 to the evening of 9/23 is 7/10 on the Jewish calendar which is the Day of Atonement. This was the day that God decided how he was going to judge a person for the rest of the year and on 7/11 he would issue that judgement. (Side note: SEPT-ember was originally the 7th month so 9/11 could be thought of as 7/11. And 9/11 in Roman numerals is IXXI which is a re-working of the sign of Saturn and was engraved in Jesuit rings for a time. Pope Francis is the first Jesuit Pope, so he is thus “Lord of the IXXI Rings” and therefore kind of like the eye of Sauron/Saturn between the twin towers… Oh and don’t forget tower 7… 7/11). This year, 9/23 also happened to be the fall equinox – which doesn’t mean much to modern man, but recall that the ancients (and modern secret societies) were all about the Sun worship. Fall equinox is thus symbolic of the time when the powers of darkness overcome the powers of the light. Thus, what is “birthed” on 9/24 is something wicked.
So on 9/23 the prez “basked in the glow” of the Pope. On 9/24 the Pope journeyed to the Capitol. At some point he was interrupted by an illegal immigrant child who managed to evade iron clad security (staged much?) waving a heart-wrenching letter describing how she didn’t want to be deported. The Pope stood in the Capitol, which is symbolically the womb of Isis where a god is conceived or where men become gods (the dome also happens to be currently in the middle of a remodel or “reformation”). The main theme of his visit and of his speech was that the Western world needs to welcome the foreign children (to be sacrificed to Osiris) newly delivered unto us. Of course, it is well known that some of these “migrant children” belong to the terrorist group named: ISIS (Islamic State of Iraq and Syria).
So there you have it. The pope’s visit and message is all about Isis and the birthing of the children of ISIS through labor pains of judgment in the fall as the Western borders fall. Anyone who’s been paying attention knows that it is a thinly veiled fact that the West created ISIS by giving weapons, training, and funds to moderate rebels (also known as Al-Qaeda) in order to topple the Assad regime in Syria and possibly to be the next big bogeyman that will force Westerners to continue giving up their civil liberties so that they may be lovingly integrated into the global community with a nice big hug from Big Brother. Isis is ISIS is made by the secret societies who revere Isis and are the hidden hand behind Western geopolitics.
