克萊蒙特 is a small, historic college town that is home to seven colleges. Located in Southern California, 克萊蒙特 is an excellent choice for students who want to enjoy the comforts of a 克萊蒙特 big city without sacrificing the charm of a rural village. The town's rich history has been preserved and enriched by its residents and by the many museums 克萊蒙特 houses. 克萊蒙特 also boasts a charming and walkable downtown, complete with quaint streets lined with historical architecture, locally-owned boutiques and restaurants.

In 1887, a group of East Coast investors began building a grand resort in the hills of Claremont. They called it the "Claremont Hotel." The project soon fell apart due to a real estate crash, labor shortages, and a wildfire that destroyed much of the resort. Then, in 1905, the property was bought by a group of local men who decided to reconstruct it into a luxurious resort.

For the first few years, Claremont was a tiny, thriving village that served as a station on a railway line going to Los Angeles. The railway was a lucrative source of income for the town and, in addition to attracting settlers, the citrus industry provided a steady stream of tourists.

Despite the economic downturn, the community's spirit remained strong. As a result, the founders of Pomona College chose to establish it in "the New England style" and the city that grew around it reflected the traditions that the founders had brought with them from their homes in the East.

Today, The Claremont Colleges, a consortium of five undergraduate institutions and two graduate schools, attract about 6,500 students from all over the country and around the world. The seven colleges are known for their academic excellence and are consistently ranked among the best in the nation.

The Colleges have a long tradition of community engagement and volunteerism. The town meeting form of government, on which the colleges are based, remains an important element of the Claremont identity.

One of the Colleges, Scripps, has a special connection to the area's citrus industry as well. The College has a large citrus research center, a farm, and an extensive garden. Its faculty includes experts in all aspects of citrus growing and processing, from pruning to packing to harvesting.

Another College, Pitzer, has an equally strong focus on agricultural education and research. Its professors are dedicated to educating students about the environment and how it affects people's lives. The College also hosts a number of conferences, workshops, and seminars on topics related to sustainability.

It is also one of the most prominent and respected centers for research in psychology, medicine, and neuroscience. It has more than 2,000 full-time scientists, educators, and researchers working across the University's five campuses.

The town of Claremont is home to an impressive array of parks and outdoor spaces, including the Claremont Creek Greenway, which offers trails for running and walking, as well as a skate park. It is a popular destination for bikers, hikers, and nature lovers. It also offers an opportunity to view the city's unique wildlife and plants, such as quails, deer, and rabbits. The town also boasts a beautiful, pristine beach and an oceanside hiking trail.
