 History of the Scottish Rite of Freemasonry

The Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite, as we know it today, had its origins on the continent of Europe. Its immediate predecessor, known as The Order of the Royal Secret, consisted of 25 Degrees under the Constitutions of 1762. Masonic tradition maintains that Lodges of this Rite, transmitted from Bordeaux in France through the West Indies to the American mainland, were established at New Orleans, Louisiana, in 1763; at Albany, New York, in 1767; at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in 1781-82; and at Charleston, South Carolina, in 1783.

The Grand Constitutions of 1786 provided for an extension of the Rite to thirty-three Degrees, governed in each country under a Supreme Council of the Thirty-third and Last Degree. Its provisions were cited in a Manifesto at Charleston that confirmed the first Supreme Council ever opened under these Grand Constitutions, on May 31, 1801, "by Brothers John Mitchell and Frederick Dalcho." All regular and recognized Supreme Councils and their Subordinate Bodies today are descended directly or collaterally from this Mother Supreme Council of the World.

THE NAME

In announcing its establishment to the Masonic world in that Manifesto, dated December 4, 1802, the name was given as The Supreme Council of the Thirty-third Degree for the United States of America. The word Scotch appeared in connection with one of the early Supreme Council Degrees, and Scotish (sic) was included in the name of one of the detached Degrees conferred by The Supreme Council.

The name Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite first appeared in an 1804 agreement between the Supreme Council of France and the Grand Orient of France. Beginning with the administration of Grand Commander Albert Pike in 1859, it came into general use in the Southern Jurisdiction and elsewhere. Many Scottish Masons fled to France during political upheavals in the 17th and 18th centuries, at a time when the Degrees of the Rite were evolving in French Freemasonry. This has caused some to think mistakenly that the Rite originated in Scotland. Actually, however, a Supreme Council for Scotland was not established until 1846.

SOUTHERN JURISDICTION

The Grand Constitutions of 1786, in the earliest known text in the possession of John Mitchell and Frederick Dalcho, provided for two Supreme Councils in the United States. The Supreme Council at Charleston (Charleston is on the 33º parallel) sent one of its Active Members to New York and authorized him to establish in 1813 a Supreme Council for the Northern Jurisdiction of the United States of America. With this accomplished, The Supreme Council at Charleston in 1827 ceded to the Northern Supreme Council the 15 states north of the Ohio and east of the Mississippi Rivers. The Southern Supreme Council retained jurisdiction over all other states and territories (at home and abroad) of the United States.

INTERNATIONAL CHARACTER
OF THE SCOTTISH RITE TODAY

The Supreme Council of the Southern Jurisdiction recognizes in its fraternal relations 40 Supreme Councils and four National Grand Lodges practicing the Rites that include the Scottish Rite, in different countries throughout the world. Each regular Supreme Council has declared its general adherence to those Grand Constitutions of 1762 and 1786, but each, being a sovereign Masonic Body, has made variations in its Statutes to meet its own particular needs. This is especially true as to the number of members composing a Supreme Council. Some have retained the original limitations of nine Active Members. In our Jurisdiction the number of Active Members is limited to 33. 

The 33rd degree is the highest degree attainable in Scottish Rite freemasonry.

The astrological circle equals 360 degrees, that is 12 zodiacal houses of 30 degrees each. In a Vedic (Hindu) astrology book the Moon was exalted at 3 degrees of Taurus and debilitated in 3 degrees Scorpio. Exaltation was considered to be the optimum position, where the planet is strong and potent and debilitation was the opposite. 

Why 3 degrees of Taurus? 

In Vedic astrology, the Lunar Zodiac is based on the Moon's movement against the brightest stars divided into 27 Nakshatras of 13 degrees and 20 minutes each. 3 degrees of Taurus corresponds with the Nakshatra called Krittika - which we now know as The Pleiades and 3 degrees of Scorpio corresponds with the Nakshatra called Vishakha which we know as the North and South Scale of Libra called Tula in Sanskrit. If you plot 3 degrees of Taurus on the great wheel of 360 degrees starting with zero degrees Aries, 3 Taurus equals 33 degrees. Alcyone is the brightest star in the Pleiadian cluster and thus Alcyone is 33 degrees - the number of Mastery. Also using Etymology (origins of words) when the word Master is divided into two becomes Ma / Ster and it means Mother Star. Thus, Alcyone is the number of the Mother Star - 33 degrees.

The Pleiadian star system has been one of the most revered cosmic objects in history, poetry and mythology across all cultures. According to the cultural traditions, the seven visible stars of the Pleiades have been referred to by many names, such as the Seven Sisters, Krittika, Kimah, Flock of Doves, Hens, Virgins of Spring, Sailor's Stars and the seven Atlantic Sisters. 'The Pleiades were known as Seven Sisters by indigenous people in North America, Siberia and Australia and this common heritage means they were described more than 40,000 years ago.' 

'The Pleiades seem to be among the first stars mentioned in astronomical literature, appearing in the Chinese annuls of 2357 BC, Alcyone, the lucida, then being near the vernal equinox--- And their beginning of the year gave rise to the title 'The Great Year of the Pleiades' for the cycle of precession of about 25,900 years." 

Professor Charles Piazzi Smyth in the late 19th century suggested that that the seven chambers of the Great Pyramid of Giza commemorate these seven stars.  'And here is a wonderful corresponding fact, that the date of the Great Pyramids completion, at midnight of the autumnal equinox the Pleiades were distributed over the meridian of this pyramid, with Alcyone precisely on the line." 

What if the Great Pyramid was actually built in honour of the Pleiades when they rose near the vernal equinox 2357 BC and completed by 2170, as suggested by Siess.

According to Albert Churchward the name of the Great Pyramid was 'Khuti,' which denoted the seven Lights, or Glorious Ones. Likewise, the Tower of Babel with its seven tiers was also symbolical of the 'Great Altar Stairs,' by which men climbed heavenward.

Many ancient traditions state that Alcyone was the Central Spiritual Sun, the Mother Sun that emits creative Light, that which births great teachers of Light into the world. It was believed to be the centre of the Universe around which our own solar system revolves. Our current astronomers do not support this idea although in the 1850's it well accepted. 'Science has at last discovered that the Sun is not a dead centre, with planets and comets wheeling around it but itself stationary. It is now ascertained that the Sun is also in motion, around some other and vastly mightier centre. Astronomers are not fully agreed as to what or where that centre is. Some however believe that they have found the direction of it to be the Pleiades, and particularly Alcyone. To the distinguished astronomer, Prof.J.H, Maedler belongs the honour of having made this discovery. Alcyone, then, as far as science can perceive, would seem to be the "midnight throne" in which the whole system of gravitation has a central seat, and from which the Almighty governs his universe.' 

An astronomer will tell you this is complete rubbish but I want to go back to the ancient traditions. Alcyone was called Al Wasat, the Central One by the Arabs and Temennu, the Foundation Stone by the Babylonians. The next quotation I found in a wonderful book on ancient constellations called The Mazzaroth. 'Wasat, an Arabic name of Alcyone, transmitted by Ulugh Beigh from early Arabian astronomy, is the centre. It thus testifies, like that of Alcyone, to the knowledge of the first astronomers of the long lost but lately removed fact, that in this group is the centre of the revolving, contains the same reference, if explained by its primitive roots. The ancient name Alcyone, now so celebrated in the annuals of science, is evidently of Oriental origin, having the Arabic and old Hebrew article Al, prefixed to its root Cyon, centre. Its meaning, centre, foundation, anticipates one of the greatest achievements of modern astronomy, the discovery that to this point, this centre, gravitates the whole magnificent arrangement of the stars called the Galaxy, to which our sun belongs.' Does Cyon not sound like Sion/Zion - the heavenly city of God?

The Hebrews believed it to be the City of David- the City of the Lord- the City of Foundation.

Pleiades Zion? The star Alcyone was EXACTLY due west from Washington DC at the precise moment the transponder of American airlines Flight 11 was turned off (ie the instance the hijackings commenced). The star Sirius was EXACTLY due south of New York City at an angle of 33° at this precise moment. This mutual event was, as explained earlier, repeated at the commencement of the Light Ceremony of 11th March 2002.

An intriguing article has been written by Ken Raines called Jehovah: Ancient Astronaut from the Pleiades' Raines says that apparently for 62 years, 1891 - 1953, the Watchtower Society (Jehovah's Witness) taught that God resided on the star Alcyone in the Pleiades constellation and that from this star he governed the universe. It was also stated that the City of Zion in heaven was Alcyone. The original Watchtower magazine was called Zion's Watchtower. 

In Micah 4:8 of the Old Testament, it reads, 'And thou, O tower of the flock (Migdal eder - Magdalene?), the strong hold of the daughter of Zion, unto thee shall come, even the first dominion; the kingdom shall come to the daughter of Jerusalem.' 

The Pleiades were most frequently represented as a flock of doves.

Indeed the word 'Pleiades' is Greek for 'Flock of Doves'.

However there was one place where when Alcyone sets on September 11th and the Sun was exactly due South, not only that the Sun was EXACTLY 66°. All the major planets were in Virgo, the House of Bread or Beth Lehem

History records that the administration of the League of Nations mandate for the forming of the state of Israel between the 30th and 33rd parallels. This effectively began with the swearing into office as High Commissioner and Commander in Chief for Palestine of the Right Honourable Sir Herbert Samuel, in Jerusalem, on September 11, 1922.

The forming of the state of Israel was passed in the US Congress on the same day.

The Illuminati was behind the revolutionary movements of the 18th -- 20th Century as well as their respective reigns of terror. The bankers used their power to spread their Satanic convictions. They had finagled a monopoly on credit (usurping the government's right to create money) and they needed to control the world in order to protect this prize.

Their influence on world history can be seen in the story of the red hexagram, commonly known as the "Star of David." According to researcher Fritz Springmeier, the Star of David was not associated with Jews until the Rothschilds adopted it as their symbol in 1822. The Rothschilds were considered the leaders of the Jews but I don't know if the Jews knew the Rothschilds were Satanists. The Star of David is really "The Seal of Solomon," an occult symbol for the Satanic. Solomon worshipped the star "Astoreth."

Q: What is the signification of the ladder of three rounds, and why is it represented as leading up to the "seven stars," or the Pleiades?

A: This emblem is clearly but a modification of the latter of the Mysteries, consisting, as we have seen, of seven rounds - and is of the same general astronomical meaning. The sun, when ascending from the winter solstice to the vernal equinox, the constellation Taurus, and the Pleiades, or seven stars, situated therein, passes successively through three signs of the zodiac, to wit, Aquarius, Pisces, and Aries. These three signs are therefore emblematically represented by a ladder of three principal rounds, by means of which the sun climbs up from the point of his lowest southern declination to the vernal equinox and the "seven stars" in Taurus. The foregoing is the emblem of the masonic ladder as generally represented.

These are to-day the two great fundamental principles of Freemasonry, and are illustrated and taught in a similar manner in the ritual of the third degree.

The solar allegory and emblems of the ancient mysteries have, however, a twofold meaning:

1) Being founded, as before stated, on the passage of the sun among the twelve constellations of the zodiac - his overthrow by the three autumnal months, his return to life at the vernal equinox, and his exaltation at the summer solstice  they therefore taught and illustrated all the leading principles of astronomy, and thus had an important scientific value to the initiated.

2) By personifying the sun, and requiring the candidate to represent him, the whole solar phenomena were exhibited in an allegorical manner, and became symbolical of the unity of God and the immortality of the soul. The ladder of the Mysteries, being but an emblem intended to illustrate the main solar allegory, had the same twofold symbolism.

When full explained to the initiated, it fixed upon the mind certain great facts in astronomical science. It taught the order and position of the signs of the zodiac; the ascent of the sun from the point of his lowest declination below the equator to that of his highest above it, by seven equal gradiated steps. It also taught the duration of and order of the seasons, the length of the solar year, and many other particulars of the greatest importance ot agriculture, as well as to science and art generally.

The emblem, viewed in an allegorical sense, also taught, by solar analogy, the unity of God and the life everlasting. The ladder in this sense was the emblem of the ascent into heaven from the lower hemisphere - the underworld of darkness, winter, and death. This mystic ladder leads to the "seven stars," or the Pleiades, shining in the constelation Taurus, at the golden gates of spring. It mounted still onward and upward, to the summint of the Royal Arch of heaven, thus emblematically teaching us that by the ladder of virtue the soul of man will at last pierce the "cloudy canopy," and mount to the highest circle of "the starry-decked heavens," to dwell for ever triumphant over death and the grave.

Thus, it is logical that the Pleiades as a Masonic symbol in America is as old as the craft's beginnings on this continent due to its importance in the old country. It was only a matter of years after 1717 that Speculative Masons, later called "Moderns," were setting up shop in Boston and the Carolinas. Masonic aprons, engravings, and other paraphanalia were emblazoned with a grouping of 7 stars, and this practice continues to this day (see Figure x). As discussed in the Sibly treatise, the chart for the Grand Lodge of London boasts the Moon conjunct the Pleiades.

"On New Years' Eve, 1999, a program was held at the site of the Washington Monument in Washington, D.C. The monument and its surroundings were decorated in an amazing way, and I pointed out to those that were watching it with me that the occultism was carefully planned out. The Washington Monument structure is what is known as an "obelisk." The obelisk is Egyptian in origin, and a simple check in reference books will verify that the obelisk is a representation of the erect reproductive organ of the "sun god." If we take the word apart etymologically, it becomes "O-Bel-Isk" or "shaft of Baal." In front of the satanic shaft, above the rectangular reflecting pool, were the numerals 1999, which were suspended over the pool so that the angle would reveal a reflected 666 with the preceding numeral "1" not being visible. It was the number of the "Beast" in front of his reproductive shaft, and countless millions of uninformed people watched while oblivious to the real meaning from the standpoint of illuministic witchcraft.

President Clinton had called attention to this event much earlier in the year, and I had reported on that in previous issues of this newsletter. The President said that something would light up the sky and would surprise the entire world. Here let it be noted that the word "Illuminati" is derived from the word "Lucifer" and means "holders of the light." Jesus referred to this kind of dark light when he said, "But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness." - Matthew 6:23

At the stroke of midnight, as the year rolled over to 2000, a pulsating light accompanied by fireworks began at the base of the shaft and moved upward as the light intensified in its vertical movement and burst forth at the top of the monument or shaft. The connotation was filthy, and I knew immediately what was happening. It was a climax or orgasm of light climbing this evil and ancient representation of the so-called sun-god's reproductive organ. What brazen idolatry! What blatant witchcraft! Then, the excited people moved in massive throngs to go down into the reflecting pool in the presence of the monument, just as the ancient Egyptians did, as they did their ritual bathing in waters made sacred by the obelisk."
