INICIACIÓN A LOS NÚMEROS DE LA ARQUITECTURA O DE COMO DARLE FORMA A UN EDIFICIO

Los números pueden estar explicados matemáticamente en la “red” pero el problema que plantea el conocimiento de la arquitectura es: ¿cómo se le da forma con esos números a un edificio?. En arquitectura los números operan a partir de los polígonos estrellados formando concatenaciones, tal y como a continuación vamos a describir.

NÚMERO DE ORO - PENTÁGONO

El número de oro viene dado por la solución a la ecuación de segundo grado
x + x² = 1 x = 1+√5 /2 = 1,618033989
Propiedades 1/ 1,618 = 0,618 1,618... x 1,618... = 2,618...
Dado una circunferencia de radio 1 el lado del decágono inscrito en él es 0,618...
Dado un pentágono de lado 1, las diagonales de ese pentágono = 1,618...
La técnica con la que opera la arquitectura es la de las concatenaciones.
Una de ellas, la más usual, es la que presentamos en el dibujo. Si la circunferencia en color azul tiene R=1 el radio de la roja es R= 2,618, correspondiente a la que presentamos en “El vitruvio” de Leonardo da Vinci en la portada de este trabajo.

Se aplicará en la restitución de una tabla de F. Brunelleschi Nº 6.

NÚMERO DE PLATA - EL OCTÓGONO

Así como el número de oro está asociado a la √5 el número de plata está asociado a √2 y presenta una serie de propiedades similares a las del número de oro.
√2 = 1,414213562 tg. 22,5º = 0,414213562
tg.67,5º = 2,414213562
1/2,4142... = 0,4142... 2,4142... x 1,4142... = 3,4142...
Observa nuevamente la concatenación, esta vez con el octógono, de la circunferencia en color azul sobre la de color rojo.
Si el radio de la circunferencia azul es 1 la de color rojo es 2,4142....
Si el radio de la circunferencia azul es 0,4142... la de rojo es 1.
Aquí tenéis un ejemplo.

NÚMERO DE PLATINO - EL HEXÁGONO

De igual forma que el número de oro está relacionado con la √5 y el de plata con la √2, el de platino lo va a estar con la √3

Combinación, esta, muy utilizada por Andrea Palladio.
Observa la concatenación de la circunferencia azul sobre la de rojo, a través del hexágono, directamente a la circunferencia azul. Si el radio de la circunferencia color azul es 1 el de la circunferencia en color rojo es 2 y el lado del triángulo inscrito es 2 x 1,732...
Este polígono es el más prolífico en la historia de arquitectura como vamos a verlo en los ejercicios.

Número áureo

El número áureo o de oro (también llamado razón extrema y media,^[1] razón áurea, razón dorada, media áurea, proporción áurea y divina proporción ^{[cita requerida]}) representado por la letra griega φ (phi) (en minúscula) o Φ (Phi) (en mayúscula), en honor al escultor griego Fidias, es un número irracional:^[2]

El número áureo surge de la división en dos de un segmento guardando las siguientes proporciones: La longitud total a+b es al segmento más largo a, como a es al segmento más corto b.

También se representa con la letra griega Tau (Τ τ),^[3] por ser la primera letra de la raíz griega τομή, que significa acortar, aunque encontrarlo representado con la letra Fi (Φ,φ) es más común.

Se trata de un número algebraico irracional (su representación decimal no tiene período) que posee muchas propiedades interesantes y que fue descubierto en la antigüedad, no como una expresión aritmética sino como relación o proporción entre dos segmentos de una recta; o sea, una construcción geométrica. Esta proporción se encuentra tanto en algunas figuras geométricas como en la naturaleza: en las nervaduras de las hojas de algunos árboles, en el grosor de las ramas, en el caparazón de un caracol, en los flósculos de los girasoles, etc.

Asimismo, se atribuye un carácter estético a los objetos cuyas medidas guardan la proporción áurea. Algunos incluso creen que posee una importancia mística. A lo largo de la historia, se ha atribuido su inclusión en el diseño de diversas obras de arquitectura y otras artes, aunque algunos de estos casos han sido cuestionados por los estudiosos de las matemáticas y el arte.

Definición[editar]

El número áureo es el valor numérico de la proporción que guardan entre sí dos segmentos de recta a y b (a más largo que b), que cumplen la siguiente relación:

La longitud total es al segmento a, como a es al segmento b.

Escrito como ecuación algebraica: $frac{a+b}{a}=frac ab$

Siendo el valor del número áureo φ el cociente $frac ab$

Surge al plantear el problema geométrico siguiente: partir un segmento en otros dos, de forma que, al dividir la longitud total entre la del segmento mayor, obtengamos el mismo resultado que al dividir la longitud del segmento mayor entre la del menor.

Cálculo del valor del número áureo[editar]

Dos números a y b están en proporción áurea si se cumple:

$frac{a+b}{a}=frac ab$

Si $varphi$ es igual a $frac ab$ entonces la ecuación queda:

$1 + varphi^{-1} = varphi$

Multiplicando ambos miembros por $varphi$ , obtenemos:

$varphi + 1 = varphi^2$

Igualamos a cero:

$varphi^2 - varphi - 1 = 0$

La solución positiva de la ecuación de segundo grado es:

Propiedades aritméticas[editar]

$varphi^2 = varphi + 1$

La expresión anterior es fácil de comprobar:

$varphi^2 = frac{ ( 1 + sqrt{5} )^2 }{2^2} = frac{1 + 2sqrt{5} + 5}{2^2} = frac{6 + 2sqrt{5}}{2^2} = frac{3 + sqrt{5}}{2}$

$varphi + 1 = frac{1 + sqrt{5}}{2} + frac{2}{2} = frac{3 + sqrt{5}}{2}$

φ posee además las siguientes propiedades:

$varphi - 1 = frac{1}{varphi}$

$varphi^3 = frac {varphi + 1} {{varphi - 1}}$

Las potencias del número áureo pueden expresarse en función de una suma de potencias de grados inferiores del mismo número, establecida una verdadera sucesión recurrente de potencias.

El caso más simple es: $Phi^n = Phi^{n-1}+Phi^{n-2},$ , cualquiera sea n un número entero. Este caso es una sucesión recurrente de orden k = 2, pues se recurre a dos potencias anteriores.

Una ecuación recurrente de orden k tiene la forma

$a_1 u_{n+k-1}+a_2 u_{n+k-2}+...+a_k u_n,$ ,

donde $a_i,$ es cualquier número real o complejo y k es un número natural menor o igual a n y mayor o igual a 1. En el caso anterior es $scriptstyle k=2,$ , $scriptstyle a_1 = 1,$ y $scriptstyle a_2 = 1,$ .

Pero podemos «saltar» la potencia inmediatamente anterior y escribir:

$Phi^n = Phi^{n-2} + 2 Phi^{n-3} + Phi^{n-4},$ . Aquí $scriptstyle k = 4,$ , $scriptstyle a_1 = 0,$ , $scriptstyle a_2 = 1,$ , $scriptstyle a_3 = 2,$ y $scriptstyle a_4 = 1,$ .

Si anulamos a las dos potencias inmediatamente anteriores, también hay una fórmula recurrente de orden 6:

$Phi^n = Phi^{n-3} + 3 Phi^{n-4} + 3 Phi^{n-5} + Phi^{n-6},$

En general:

En resumen: cualquier potencia del número áureo puede ser considerada como el elemento de una sucesión recurrente de órdenes 2, 4, 6, 8,..., 2k; donde k es un número natural. En la fórmula recurrente es posible que aparezcan potencias negativas de $Phi,$ , hecho totalmente correcto. Además, una potencia negativa de $Phi,$ corresponde a una potencia positiva de su inverso, la sección áurea.

Este curioso conjunto de propiedades y el hecho de que los coeficientes significativos sean los del binomio, parecieran indicar que entre el número áureo y el número e hay un parentesco.

El número áureo $frac{sqrt{5} + 1}{2}$ es la unidad fundamental «ε» del cuerpo de números algebraicos $mathbb{Q}left(sqrt{5} ight)$ y la sección áurea $frac{sqrt{5} - 1}{2}$ es su inversa, « $varepsilon^{-1}$ ». En esta extensión el «emblemático» número irracional $sqrt{2}$ cumple las siguientes igualdades:

$sqrt{2}=frac{sqrt{5}+1}{2}sqrt{3-sqrt{5}}=frac{sqrt{5}-1}{2}sqrt{3+sqrt{5}}$ .

Representación mediante fracciones continuas[editar]

La expresión mediante fracciones continuas es:

$varphi = 1 + frac{1}{varphi} quad longrightarrow quad varphi = 1 + frac{1}{1 + frac{1}{1 + frac{1}{1 + frac{1}{1 + ...}}}}$

Esta iteración es la única donde sumar es multiplicar y restar es dividir. Es también la más simple de todas las fracciones continuas y la que tiene la convergencia más lenta. Esa propiedad hace que además el número áureo sea un número mal aproximable mediante racionales que de hecho alcanza el peor grado posible de aproximabilidad mediante racionales.^[5]

Por ello se dice que $varphi$ es el número más alejado de lo racional o el número más irracional. Este es el motivo por el cual aparece en el teorema de Kolmogórov-Arnold-Moser.

El número áureo en la geometría[editar]

El tríangulo de Kepler:
$varphi^2 = varphi + 1;$

El número áureo y la sección áurea están presentes en todos los objetos geométricos regulares o semiregulares en los que haya simetría pentagonal, que sean pentágonos o que aparezca de alguna manera la raíz cuadrada de cinco.

El rectángulo áureo de Euclides[editar]

Euclides obtiene el rectángulo áureo AEFD a partir del cuadrado ABCD. El rectángulo BEFC es asimismo áureo.

El rectángulo AEFD es áureo porque sus lados AE y AD están en la proporción del número áureo. Euclides, en su proposición 2.11 de Los elementos, obtiene su construcción.>

$GC = sqrt{5}$

Con centro en G se obtiene el punto E, y por lo tanto:

$GE=GC=sqrt{5}$

con lo que resulta evidente que

$AE = AG + GE = 1 + sqrt{5}$

de donde, finalmente,

$frac{AE}{AD} = frac{1 + sqrt{5}}{2}= varphi$

Por otra parte, los rectángulos AEFD y BEFC son semejantes, de modo que este último es asimismo un rectángulo áureo.

En el pentagrama[editar]

Los segmentos coloreados del pentagrama poseen proporciones áureas.

El número áureo tiene un papel muy importante en los pentágonos regulares y en los pentagramas. Cada intersección de partes de un segmento se interseca con otro segmento en una razón áurea.

El pentagrama incluye diez triángulos isóceles: cinco acutángulos y cinco obtusángulos. En ambos, la razón de lado mayor y el menor es φ. Estos triángulos se conocen como los triángulos áureos.

Teniendo en cuenta la gran simetría de este símbolo, se observa que dentro del pentágono interior es posible dibujar una nueva estrella, con una recursividad hasta el infinito. Del mismo modo, es posible dibujar un pentágono por el exterior, que sería a su vez el pentágono interior de una estrella más grande. Al medir la longitud total de una de las cinco líneas del pentáculo interior, resulta igual a la longitud de cualquiera de los brazos de la estrella mayor, o sea Φ. Por lo tanto, el número de veces en que aparece el número áureo en el pentagrama es infinito al añadir infinitos pentagramas.

El teorema de Ptolomeo y el pentágono[editar]

Se puede calcular el número áureo usando el teorema de Ptolomeo en un pentágono regular.

Claudio Ptolomeo desarrolló un teorema conocido como el teorema de Ptolomeo, el cual permite trazar un pentágono regular mediante regla y compás. Aplicando este teorema, se forma un cuadrilátero al quitar uno de los vértices del pentágono, Si las diagonales y la base mayor miden b, y los lados y la base menor miden a, resulta que b² = a² + ab lo que implica:

El número áureo en el arte y en la cultura[editar]

En la representación del Hombre de Vitruvio Leonardo da Vinci no utiliza el número áureo, sino el sistema fraccionario propuesto por Vitruvio

Relaciones en la forma de la Gran Pirámide de Gizeh. La afirmación de Heródoto de que el cuadrado de la altura es igual a la superficie de una cara es posible únicamente si la semi-sección meridiana de la pirámide es proporcional al triángulo rectángulo $left( 1,;sqrt{frac{sqrt{5} + 1}{2}},;frac{sqrt{5} + 1}{2} ight)$ , donde 1 representa proporcionalmente a la mitad de la base, la raíz cuadrada del número áureo a la altura hasta el vértice (inexistente en la actualidad) y el número áureo o hipotenusa del triángulo a la apotema de la Gran Pirámide. Esta tesis ha sido defendida por los matemáticos Jarolimek, K. Kleppisch y W. A. Price (ver referencias), se apoya en la interpretación de un pasaje de Heródoto (Historiae, libro II, cap. 124) y resulta teóricamente con sentido, aunque una construcción de semejante tamaño deba contener errores inevitables a toda obra arquitectónica y a la misma naturaleza de la tecnología humana, que en la práctica puede manejar únicamente números racionales.

¿Qué es phi?

Phi (1.618033988749895... ), pronunciado como fi, es un numero irracional como Pi ( 3.14159265358979... ), pero con muchas características matemáticas inusuales. Phi es la base de la Proporción Dorada. La razón o proporción determinada por Phi (1.618...) era conocida por los Griegos como la “Sección Dorada” y por los artistas del renacimiento como la “Proporción Divina”. También se le conoce como la razón Dorada o la Proporción Áurea.
Phi, como Pi, es una razón definida por una construcción geométrica.
Pi es la relación de la circunferencia de un círculo respecto a su diámetro. Phi es la proporción de los segmentos de una línea que resultan cuando una línea es dividida de una forma única y especial.

La línea es dividida para que la proporción de la longitud de la línea entera (A) respecto a la longitud del segmento de la línea mayor (B) sea igual que la proporción de la longitud del segmento de la línea mayor (B) a la longitud del segmento de la línea menor (C)

Esto es que A es 1.618... veces B, y B es 1.618… veces C. Recíprocamente, C es 0.618... de B y B es 0.618... de A. Phi con mayúscula "Phi" es 1.6180339887..., mientras que phi con minúscula es 0.6180339887, el reciproco de Phi o Phi menos 1.

Lo que hace a phi incluso mas inusual es que puede derivarse de muchas formas y ser encontrado en proporcionalmente en el universo. Phi F puede ser derivado por: la serie numérica descubierta por Leonardo Fibonacci, matemáticas y geometría.

Phi y la serie de Fibonacci

Leonardo Fibonacci, por herencia del mundo árabe, descubrió la serie que nos lleva a phi. En el siglo XII, Leonardo Fibonacci descubrió una serie numérica simple que es la base de la increíble relación que encontramos detrás de phi. Empezando con 0 y 1, cada número de la serie es simplemente la suma de los dos anteriores. Así: 0, 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, 55, 89, 144, . . .

La razón (proporción) de cada par sucesivo de números en la serie se aproxima a phi (1.618. . .). Así si dividimos 5 entre 3 es 1.666..., y 8 entre 5 es 1.60. En la medida en la que vamos mas lejos del 0 (punto de inicio de la secuencia) nos acercamos al valor de phi.

La tabla de abajo nos muestra como las proporciones de números sucesivos en la serie Fibonacci se aproxima a Phi.

Puedes computar cualquier número de la serie Fibonacci fácilmente. Usa phi para saber cualquier numero (n) de la serie Fibonacci (f)

fn = Fn / 5½

Phi puede derivarse matemáticamente resolviendo la ecuación:
n2 - n1 - n0 = 0 que es lo mismo que n2 - n - 1 = 0
Esta ecuación la rescribimos y nos queda así:
n2 = n + 1 y 1 / n = n - 1
La solución a la ecuación es la raíz cuadrada de 5 más 1 dividido entre 2
( 5½ + 1 ) / 2 = 1.6180339... = F

Esto resulta en dos propiedades únicas de phi:
Si elevas al cuadrado a phi, obtienes un numero exactamente 1 mayor que phi: 2.6180...
F2 = F + 1
Si divides a phi entre 1, obtienes un numero exactamente a 1 menos phi: 0.6180...:
1 / F = F - 1

Phi, curiosamente, puede ser expresado en cinco: 5 ^ .5 * .5 + .5 = F

Puedes usar phi para computar un número n en la serie Fibonacci (fn): fn = Fn / 5½

Como por ejemplo, el número 40 de la serie Fibonacci es 102, 334, 155, que puede expresarse

WASHINGTON D. C. GEOMETRY

When the site for Washington D.C. was chosen to be the national capital of the United States, it was an undeveloped area. George Washington selected Pierre L'enfant to design the layout of the city. George Washington was the highest ranking member of the Masons at the time and the Masons were ardent students of ancient civilizations such as those of the ancient Egyptians and Greeks. This is evidenced by many of the monuments in and around the city. It has also been suggested that the streets, the broad diagonal avenues, and the blocks and circles left open for monumental structures, incorporated geometric designs of Masonic relevance, as shown in the 1862 map of Washington D.C. pictured below.

The island known today as Roosevelt Island (due west of the White House in the middle of the Potomac) was called Mason's Island until early in the 20th century. George Mason originally owned the island and he built a bridge from the Virginia side. He had a large retreat house on the island where he entertained friends and guests. George Washington was a neighbor and very good friend of George Mason. Mason was the author of the Virginia Bill of Rights, which became the U. S. Bill of Rights when it was added as the first ten amendments to the constitution of the U.S. There is some evidence that George Mason was a Mason, but it is not certain. Extending New Hampshire Avenue to the southwest, into the Potomac, it crosses over the southern tip of Mason's Island. The Masonic Headquarters of the Scottish Rites of the 33rd degree is just south of the point where New Hampshire Avenue crosses 16th Street, due north of the White House.

Highlighted below are Massachusetts and Connecticut Avenues radiating from the upper left circle, Rhode Island and Vermont Avenues radiating from the upper right circle, and the horizontal street is K street. The White House is located at the apex of the pentagram.

Below is a diagram of a pentagram drawn into a true hexagram. Each of the six lines that form the hexagram are three inches long and each of the short segments of the hexagram are one inch long.

One is also the square root of one and three is the square root of nine. The distance between the adjacent outer points of the hexagram is 1.732 inches (AB, AC, BD, etc.) 1.732 is the square root of three. All of the isosceles triangles in the hexagram have an apex angle of 72° and base angles of 54°. Bisecting these isosceles triangles forms 36° - 54° - 90° right triangles. This particular right triangle was an important geometric form known as the mr triangle in ancient Egypt.

As shown in the diagram above, all six of the outer points of the hexagram are perfectly inscribed by a vesica pisces.

The traditional explanation of the 13 stars is the same as the 13 arrows and the 13 leaves and berries on the olive branch, representing the 13 original states, but the arrangement of the 13 five pointed stars forms a hexagram.

Preface

If anyone should ask how I managed to conceive the idea and why I decided to develop the tables presented in this treatise, I’m not certain I‘ll be able to give them a reasonable and acceptable answer. This is an attempt.

I’ve always considered myself a creative and intuitive person who enjoys the symmetry and beauty of the world around me. A trip to a boatyard or marina to gaze at the sleek hulls of sailing vessels gives me quiet pleasure. The solution to a difficult math problem may sometimes come to me in an intuitive flash and always seems beautiful. In the last few years I have become increasingly aware of what are called synchronistic events in my life, where coincidental happenings no longer seem merely coincidental but often have real personal meaning or affect the activity I may be involved in. It was in this light that I found myself creating, or quite possibly recreating, these extremely interesting tables that seemed to come to me from out of antiquity and have provided me with a real sense of discovery. Number summations and symmetrical combinations discovered in the tables amazingly represent many of the exact measurements made at the Great Pyramid in Egypt. Other numbers that continually reoccur in the tables represent physical earth measurements of such things as size, density, angular velocity and rotational energy, or harmonics thereof. It seems impossible to imagine that all of these factual numbers were placed here by mere coincidence, when a knowledge of higher mathematics seems essential for their presence, so many so that the reader may be tempted to join in the search for other numerical connections to the distant past. This is my hope and indeed may be the reason for this revelation.

I did not intend this to be a treatise on the synchronistic events that may have led me to this fascinating discovery and these events will only be discussed or mentioned as side notes at those points in this work where I feel it necessary for the reader to be shown how I might have been given a nudge in a fruitful direction by some synchronistic event. This is done in order to minimize any aura of mysticism that might be cast over these tables, for truly they are nothing more than an additive sequence of numbers and combinations thereof that may be found in all of nature.

The Great Pyramid - Khufu

The mystery that surrounds the Great Pyramid of Giza in Egypt is legendary, and the differences between truth and legend become less certain as we travel back through the mist of time. It is the most studied and written about monument on the face of the Earth, and it is not my intention to add more verbiage to the vast collection of literature already available on the subject.

It is my intention, however, to show that the tables developed and presented here were inspired by the mathematical symmetry found in nature and for some mysterious reason contain the most precise measurements ever made of the major dimensions of the Great Pyramid Khufu. Only after I began to probe the symmetry and mirror image properties of the tables did I begin to wonder; "Might similar tables have existed before the Great Pyramid was built? Do they contain data or guidelines that might have been used by ancient artisans and architects?"

Using the precise width and height measurements recorded by William Petrie,an English surveyor of the late nineteenth century as a reference,¹ 440 royal cubits for the base width, 280 royal cubits for the height, and in addition, using his determination of the royal cubit of 20.63 inches, which is now an accepted standard for the Great Pyramid, a base width of 756.4 feet and height of 481.4 feet can be calculated.

There seems to be no direct evidence in the tables of any number that is sufficiently close to the height in feet shown above to be acceptable; however, there are an excess of dimensional numbers from which the height can be calculated. These external numbers can be physically measured on the pyramid, whereas the height is a number that must be calculated. There is no way to make a direct internal measurement of the height. The base line width 756feet, the half width 378 feet, the apothem length 612 feet (a measure from the apex down the pyramid face to the half-width point) and the corner edge line 720 feet can all be found in the tables.*

If the total sum of the numbers of Table-1 (1188) is divided by 189, an ancient irrational value once used for two Pi (2p ) is obtained. i.e. 1188 / 189 = 44/7 = 2p .

This irrational value of Pi (p ) = 22/7 is in error by only 0.04 % and is used throughout this entire treatise as it seems to be the value in use when the pyramid was built.

In the earlier discussion on Khufu – A Model of the Earth, we discussed the fact that 360° had historically been known to contain 21600 arc minutes and that a minute of arc on the Earth’s surface was equal to one nautical mile. If we assume that the total sum of Table-2 (6048)* is Khufu’s inherent value for the number of feet in a nautical mile, and use that number, which we will now call a Khufu mile, to calculate the distance around the Earth at the equator, we obtain a distance of precisely 21600 Khufu miles.

i.e. The Earth’s equatorial circumference is equal to Khufu’s
perimeter (in feet), times the scale factor, divided by the number of feet per Khufu mile.

(4 • 756 ft) • (43200) / (6048 ft./ kfu.mile) = 21600 kfu.mile.

There have been eighteen copyrighted tables developed thusfar, which are the subjects of this treatise and the author has elected not to display them with these excerpts.

También nos explican porque los constructores de las pirámides eligieron una medida tan aparentemente irregular que era el "codo"… 0,5235 metros…

The measurements of the Great Pyramid of Cheops have been meticulously scrutinized over the recent centuries. The remains for the footers of now missing encasement were used to extrapolate the original outer measurements of 440 Royal Cubits of the sides of the square base (within nine inches of perfectly square), and a height of 280 Royal Cubits.

The earliest attested standard measure is from the Old Kingdom pyramids of Egypt and was called the royal cubit (mahe). The royal cubit was 523 to 525 mm (20.6 to 20.64 inches) in length[3], and was subdivided into 7 palms of 4 digits (4 fingers) each, for a 28-part measure in total. Secure evidence for the royal cubit unit is known from Old Kingdom architecture, from at least as early as the construction of the Step Pyramid of Djoser from around 2,700 B.C.[4]

Old Egyptian geometers could calculate the square root of two from the value of the hypotenuse of a cubit. This well-attested old Egyptian unit was known as the "construction remen" and used a good approximation: 2 × 20 ÷ 28 ~= √2.

Trigonometrically, the angle, θ, is the arcsin^[1] of the ratio of the Great Pyramid face length over the height of the pyramid converted to degrees:

The builders of the Great Pyramid of Cheops placed the height at less than one Royal Cubit error to the value of the square perimeter circumference, 440 X 4 = 1760 cubits.

The ancient Egyptians are assumed to have approximated pi (3.1415926...) as the value of 22/7 (3.1428571...). This is only an error of 0.001 from the actual value of pi.

Visually, when illustrated with pi or 22/7, the difference is undetectable.

Proportions in Square Roots

As exemplified by Christian Lange, as noted from a site in German on Schaumberger's implossion vortex science, when the center to the side of the pyramid base is used as one unit, the proportions of the dimensions of the Great Pyramid at Giza^[2] are expressed as square roots of two, four, Phi, Phi+1, and Phi+2.

Golden Hyperbolic Orbit

Be as it may, the angle of the Great Pyramid's face is 52.84°. This is the only angle that will intersect a hyperbolic cone and produce an egg-shaped orbit that has a length to width ratio of Φ, the Golden Ratio. All orbits that are less than perfectly circular are a section of a hyperbolic cone with the orbital path more curved near the Sun, like the small end of an egg, and less curved at the distant side of the orbit.

The Pyramid of Kukulkan at Chichén Itzá, constructed circa 1050 was built during the late Mayan period, when Toltecs from Tula became politically powerful. This pyramid is a precise calendar (it has 91 steps on each of 4 sides plus platform on top: 4×91 +1 = 365).
The calendar connection is also confirmed by pyramid’s orientation marking equinoxes and solstices.

Using these numbers and accurate value for 1 year equal 365.25, the pyramid “number” will perfectly relate its latitude:

Gate of the Sun at Tiwanacu

The Gate of the Sun is a very sophisticated calendar called “The Muisca Calendar”.

The Muisca calendar is another important piece in the jigsaw of the lost knowledge of the Andes. If the origins of the Muisca calendar were to be found at Tiwanaku, then perhaps they were also built into the Gate of the this calendar at Tiwanku is not based upon a divison of the solar year into twelve, but into twenty, and this is represented by the eleven smaller icons forming the freize at the bottom which represents the eleven pillars on the west side of the Kalasasayo which is the actual calendar. So if you count from the central icon or pillar out to the right hand end, then back past the central icon to the left hand end, then back to the centre, you will have effectively counted in twenty divisons and followed the path of the sun over a year.

If each chasqui were to represent a solar year, then each column of three chasquis would represent three revolutions of the sun around the eleven pillar calendar wall and three solar years are equivalent to 1 x Muisca Acrotom year of 37 synodic months of 29.53 days and also equivalent to 2 x Muisca Zocam years of 20 sidereal months of 27.32 days.

At the same time of adding one sidereal month to the Zocam sidereal calendar, it also becomes necessary to add one synodic lunar month to the Muisca Acrotom calendar making it 10 x 37 + 1 synodic lunar months to also bring it into line with both the sidereal lunar calendar and the actual solar year.

Each of the sections with fifteen chasquis corresponds to the period of fifteen solar years which Duquesne tells us was one quarter of the great “century” of the Muiscas so to sum up, each block of fifteen chasquis represents fifteen solar years which is 10 Muisca Zocam years or 5 Muisca Acrotom years, the two blocks together make 30 chasquis representing 30 solar years which is 20 Muisca Zocam years or 10 Muisca Acrotom years and 2 x the 30 chasquis gives 60 chasquis representing 60 solar years completing the great “century” of the Muiscas which was therefore, 40 Muisca Zocam years or 20 Muisca Acrotom years.

Above, when the sun reached the end of the pillars, it appeared to “stand still” before beginning its journey back in the opposite direction.

Samuel Laboy – Mathematical patterns of the Great Pyramid: A civil engineer looks at the Great Pyramid of Giza

Dear Readers,

Samuel Laboy was born in Puerto Rico. He obtained his degree in Civil Engineering at the College of Engineers and Mechanical Arts in the city of Mayaguez (1958), and his Master’s Degree (1970) in Civil Engineering from the Oklahoma State University, at Stillwater, Oklahoma, USA.

He dedicated most of his professional career to work in the Public Service in the Government of Puerto Rico. While in the Public Service, he received in three different occasions (1976, 1984 and 1990), the Manuel A. Pérez Award, the highest ranking Award granted by the Government of Puerto Rico to their employees (over 300,000 employees). Laboy performed outstanding work as a professional bridge engineer in charge of the inventory, inspection and evaluation of over 2,000 bridges in the island. As inventor, he received three patents from the United States Patent Office for his inventions of a portable pedestrian bridge structure, a soil classification device, and a guitar-teaching device. He is the author of the Spanish books “La Gran Pirámide y su Geometría” published in 1982, La Gran Pirámide y su Solución Geométrica (manuscript). He also published the book “A Civil Engineer looks at the Great Pyramid” (2008), and its “Supplement (2010)” in English.

Laboy dedicated a personal crusade for over 40 years of studies and investigation devoted to the solution of the geometrical design of the Great (Khufu) Pyramid in Egypt. He envisioned this topic for his doctoral thesis, in his advance studies at the Oklahoma State University in 1970. Although he could not get back to his doctoral degree, he continued his investigation and research as a “virtual thesis”. He finished his goal in 2010, and presented his report books to the University, which consisted of the virtual thesis report books. They included the entire design plan of the Great Pyramid, where he reveals his extraordinary findings and discoveries, as a result of his serious, profound, and comprehensive research. He explains that his findings and discoveries are not theories; they are real, facts, and something that anyone can rework and will get equal results and conclusions. He dedicated his virtual thesis work to the Oklahoma State University Faculty and to its Students.

For many years, we have heard and read about the Great Pyramid of Egypt and the Ancient Egyptian culture, which is known as the Pyramid Builders. Many books and movies present theories about this culture based on extraterrestrials, their relation to the Cosmos, and to our Planet Earth. Continuously, we are subjected by authors to new prophesy and predictions about the Great Pyramid, new versions are inspired every day. However, all of these are theories, ideas, and the opinions of what many people think about these matters.

At this time, I will present my views about this topic, but they are not supported in phantasies, theories, or restrictions protocols from any special organizations. My views are the results of my personal crusade for 40 years in investigation, research, and a visit to the Giza’s pyramids, using my Engineering knowledge, all reference books available from Egyptology from recognized authors about this matter. My presentation about the geometric design plan of the Great Pyramid is something real, a fact.

After I received my Master’s Degree Diploma in 1970 from the Oklahoma State University, in Stillwater, Oklahoma, I decided to select the topic “The Geometric Solution of the Great Pyramid of Egypt” as my intended doctoral thesis topic, in my PhD advance studies. However, since I was not able to continue my doctoral studies, I decided to start and continue my studies in my projected thesis. It took me 40 years to finish my virtual thesis.

Examining the pyramid’s structure “as built plan” I figure out that such a large and complex design project required “an architectural geometric template frame” for its design. I tried by all means to find this type of template. Since I could not find it, establishing my own parameters, I created, or developed it. It took me several years, but I found what I was looking for.

The template’s shape consists of the geometric arrangement of a circle, a triangle and a square. They are drawn following a special geometric sequence, using only as tools, a drawing compass to trace the curves, and a straightedge to trace the straight lines. The importance of these combined figures is that they are proportional to the radius of the circle. The template can be seen and used, as a design tool full of extraordinary features for the design of different objects; such as paintings, statues, jewelry, temples, pyramids, and other types of structures. It has to be noted, that it creation is independent from the design of pyramids. The template can be created in any part of the world, with no reference to the pyramids. It is a product from the science of geometry. This architectural template exactly represents the one I envisioned was used by most ancient cultures of the world, for their uniform design of general construction works.

The Perfect Symbol template has no dimensions. However it is surprising the extent of extraordinary properties and characteristics that this simple architectural symbol exhibits. The entire Great Pyramid’s dimensions can be calculated using the desire units of measurements. Any number and unit of measurement can be used as the radius of the circle, such as feet, meters, inches, Egyptian Cubits, or any other measuring unit of our preference and all dimensions will be expressed in the same units used for the radius. Therefore, it can be said that the construction plan of the Great Pyramid is available now in any unit of measurements. Set the radius of the circle and calculate all the dimensions shown in the dimensionless plan.

1. The origin of the Perfect Symbol has no relation, or reference, to any pyramid, building, or religious temple. Its figure is generated from the science of geometry.

2. The Perfect Symbol is dimensionless; since it was created using only a drawing compass and a straightedge, without numbers, calculations or formulas; just the architectural template and a geometrical process was used.

3. Setting the radius of the circle equal to one unit, all dimensions, including its angles, can be calculated, or developed into formulas. Therefore the distance between any two points can be calculated multiplying the number set for the radius by the shown formula.

4. As said, when a number and its unit of measurement are set for the radius of the template, the entire geometric plan of any designed object can be calculated. As said, all the results will be expressed in the same units used for the radius.

5. Apparently, this architectural template was known and used by many ancient cultures to create their design works. For examples: the Aztecs in Mexico, the Incas in Peru, the pyramid builders in Egypt, and others. The geometric arrangement of this template seems to correctly fit their construction works.

For this purpose, I developed a series of formulas which give the distances between the required points in any unit of measurement. Multiply the radius-size and unit, by the shown formula, and the result will show the distance between the two points.

THE SHOWN FORMULAS ARE USED TO CALCULATE THE DISTANCES BETWEEN THE SHOWN POINTS FOR ANY PYRAMID’S PLAN, PROPORTIONAL TO THE GREAT PYRAMID’S STRUCTURE.

I found that the radius of the circle for the Great Pyramid’s design plan exactly corresponds to the product of 153 multiplied by Phi (= 1.6180339…) = 480.6637 expressed in ft. units.

DISTANCE BETWEEN POINTS = THE PRODUCT OF THE NUMBER OF UNITS SET FOR THE RADIUS, MULTIPLY BY THE FORMULA SHOWN BETWEEN THE TWO POINTS.

As mentioned, when studying this template, I found that it exhibits extraordinary characteristics and properties useful to perform general design works, especially of pyramids. Therefore, I decided to call it, the “Perfect Symbol”. To prove the template’s usefulness for design, and considering its triangular shape, which appears very similar to the cross section of a pyramid, I decided to use it to create a geometric design of an Egyptian Pyramid’s model, without the use of numbers, calculations, formulas, or any reference to the Great Pyramid’s structure dimensions.

When my design was finished, I had created a geometric dimensionless plan, which looks equal to the Great Pyramid’s structure. The design plan shows a dimensionless geometric plan created by means of the design template tool and a geometrical process.

After he finished his dimensionless plan, In order to define the entire designed structure, I set up a number with its unit of measurement to the radius of the circle and calculated all the sections of the dimensionless designed structure. All of these calculations independently calculated from the dimensions of the Great Pyramid’s structure. When I finished the calculations of the dimensionless pyramid’s model plan, I discovered that my designed pyramid’s model plan was entirely equal in dimensions, characteristics and properties to the existing “as built” plan drawn using the dimensions measured by surveyors and pyramid’s investigators, for the Great Pyramid’s structure.

I subjected both plans to a thorough and comprehensive comparison and found that both plans proved to be exactly equal in all their dimensions, characteristics and properties. This proved that the “Perfect Symbol” as I called it, is the origin of the structure shape and the frame of the Great Pyramid. My report books illustrate step by step, all these processes.

My intention was to generously make available my findings and discoveries “free” to the Egyptian Government officials, for their revision and used accordingly in their benefit. Up to now, after 4 years, no response was ever received from them. As something incredible, most of the dimensions shown in both plans, my designed plan, and those measured by surveyors and pyramid investigators of the Great Pyramid’s structure, were accurate to decimal places. It is also known that this accuracy is something very difficult to be accomplished by the Egyptian manual labor, considering that the dimensions of the pyramid’s structure were set using large and heavy stone blocks, which needed to be cut and placed exactly to fit dimensional specifications.

It is known that the fact that both plans proved to be exactly equal in all dimensions, characteristics and properties is something that only can occur if both plans were designed following equal guides and procedures. This discovery is something that scholars, all pyramid lovers, and investigators from related sciences, should carefully look at. This is something real, it is a fact. There is no doubt that this discovery will have to be finally recognized by all experts. Any person, in any country, in any language, using any units of measurements, can verify that all this presentation is real and completely correct. This discovery reveals for the first time in history, that the “Perfect Symbol is “the origin of the Great Pyramid” and also its frame for its construction.

The fact that the entire Great Pyramid’s structure can be established, without the use of numbers, calculations, formulas, or reference to the Great Pyramid’s dimensions is astonishing. Plus the fact that only one number with its unit of measurement, independent from the Egyptian units of measurement, is used as the radius of the template to calculate all the Great Pyramid’s dimensions makes it unbelievable. This also means that all dimensions set up in the Great Pyramid’s structure were set up by geometry, and not by the builders. KING’S CHAMBER AND ITS FIVE CEILINGS

To verify his design method and the use of the Perfect Symbol, Laboy presented, using the same procedure with the “Perfect Symbol”, individually designs of the original “Great Pyramid’s entrance”, the Grand Gallery, the King’s Chamber and its five ceilings, the Queen Chamber, the Antechamber, the subterranean chamber, and even the so-called ventilation shafts lengths, and angles. To further verify his design methods, Laboy also designed the geometrical plans of the pyramids of Chephren, Micerinus, the Red, the Bent pyramid, and also of some ruined pyramids.

His two reports books exposed to the world, his extraordinary findings and discoveries to determine the pyramids internal structure, the location of descending passages and entrances, and most important, the most probable location of the Pharaoh’s Mortuary Chambers.

Phi and the Golden Section in Architecture

Phi (Φ), the Golden Section, has been used by mankind for centuries in architecture

Its use started as perhaps early as with the Egyptians in the design of the pyramids. When the basic phi relationships are used to create a right triangle, it forms the dimensions of the great pyramids of Egypt, with the geometry shown below creating an angle of 51.83 degrees, the cosine of which is phi, or 0.618. The ancient Greek Euclid ((365–300 BC) wrote of it in “Elements” as the ”dividing a line in the extreme and mean ratio.” The Parthenon, built in 447 to 438 BC, appears to use it in some aspects of its design to achieve beauty and balance its design. This, however, is subject to some debate, as discussed in more detail at The Parthenon and the Golden Ratio:

Notre Dame in Paris, which was built in between 1163 and 1250 appears to have golden ratio proportions in a number of its key proportions of design. Although it is rather asymmetrical in its design and difficult to measure photographically because of parallax distortions, the golden ratio lines of the green, blue and red rectangles conform closely to the major architectural lines, which represent:

Renaissance artists of the 1500′s in the time of Leonardo Da Vinci knew it as the Divine Proportion. In India, it was used in the construction of the Taj Mahal, which was completed in 1648. Click on photos below for enlarged image.

It has also been reported to have been used in the United Nations building, but we are still seeking details that can confirm this.

The CN Tower in Toronto, the tallest tower and freestanding structure in the world, has contains the golden ratio in its design. The ratio of observation deck at 342 meters to the total height of 553.33 is 0.618 or phi, the reciprocal of Phi!

Hay algo que es increible. Desde el 15/3 (153) hasta el 15 de Agosto tenemos 153 dias y desde el 13 de Octubre hasta el 15/3 tambien tenemos 153 dias. Concretamente hay una impresionante interrelacion entre el 15 de Agosto, el 13 de Octubre con el numero 153. Teniendo en cuenta de la interrelacion del 15 de Agosto desde el 1 de enero con el 227, relacionado con el pi=3.14 y en el contexto a que desde el 1 de Marzo hasta el 13 de Octubre, tambien tenemos 227 dias y considerando que 314-153=161 es igual al NUMERO DE ORO vemos otra interrelacion del 15 de Agosto con el NUMERO DE ORO. Columbus Sailed the Ocean Blue in 1492

The explorer Christopher Columbus was a member of the Roman Catholic Franciscan Order [1][2], and probably sailed with a crew of Knights Templar. Some report the ship flying their flag, the familiar red cross.[3][4][5][6][7]

In 1493 the Pope gave all of the Americas to the Spanish inquisition.[8][9][10][11][12] Soon after, Spain began slaughtering and subjugating the Natives, and bringing in African slaves to all the Americas.[13][14][15][16]

Colonist set sail in 1584 from England to found the American colonies, including Virginia, named after Elizabeth.

The Jesuit Bishop John Carroll was probably the richest man in America in the late 1700's. Carroll allowed funding to construct D.C. (which is nicknamed "Rome on the Potomac"). The owner of the land used to be Francis Pope and his priest was Jesuit Andrew White (White House).

Washington D.C.'s original name was Rome, Maryland, and a branch of the Potomac River was called Tiber Creek, which was named after the Tiber river in Rome. Like Rome, Washington D.C. has 7 hills, whose names are: Capitol Hill, Meridian Hill, Floral Hills, Forest Hills, Hillbrook, Hillcrest, and Knox Hill.

In the U.S., the big push to canonize or deify the pirate Columbus came after the fall of the Papal States in 1870.
