I’ve been thinking about buying a property abroad, but I’ve no clue where to start. What should I be looking out for when it comes to investing in another country? Any tips on avoiding pitfalls or things you’ve learnt the hard way? I’d love to hear what others have experienced, especially with legal stuff and taxes. |

Ah, mate, buying abroad can be a cracking idea, but it’s definitely a different ballgame than buying at home. First off, you’ve got to get your head around local laws, especially taxes and property rights. For example, if Georgia’s on your radar, you might want to check out what you need to know before buying real estate in Georgia https://asktotalk.com/what-you-need-to-know-before-buying-real-estate-in-georgia/ . The process there is pretty smooth, but things like currency fluctuations and local developers cutting corners can be issues. Always get a good local lawyer and, if possible, speak to folks who’ve already made the leap – saves a lot of hassle in the long run! |
