MORGAN ROBERTSON PROFETIZÓ EL HUNDIMIENTO DEL TITANIC
Tras la reciente catástrofe del Titanic se descubren espeluznantes similitudes entre los hechos descritos en la novela de Morgan Robertson “Futility” y los acontecidos en el hundimiento del Titanic.
Nueva York, 1912. El conocido escritor americano Morgan Robertson publica en 1898 la novela de ciencia ficción “Futility” donde narra el viaje inaugural de un gran buque crucero británico de nombre Titan que termina con su hundimiento en el océano Atlántico a causa del choque con un iceberg.
Las increíbles similitudes no acaban aquí. Robertson ha coincidido en datos tan precisos como el tamaño del barco (800 pies), su capacidad (3.000 pasajeros), el número de barcos salvavidas (24), número de pasajeros (2.000), hora del impacto (sobre la media noche)… El parecido es mucho más que razonable.

Wreck of the RMS Magdalena or Titanic in Rio De Janeiro.
A ship built in the same shipyard where the Titanic was born and which ironically ended on its maiden voyage as well.
Historic
One of the prides of the British shipping company Royal Mail Steam Packet Company. The Magdalena, the company's third ship with that name, took two years to build, due to a lack of materials in the post-war period. It was launched on May 11, 1948 by the Harland and Wolff shipyard in Ireland and immediately placed for passenger and cargo line service to Brazil, Uruguay and Argentina.
During his inaugural voyage in April 1949, he highlighted the ita come from Santos, with a scheduled stopover in Costa Rio de Janeiro.

Soon, the ship began to be unloaded, transferring part of its cargo to auxiliary ships, barges and tugs. With the weight alleviated and the following day's high tide, the ship re-floated, starting the slow tow by Triunfo and Comandante Dorat, into the interior of Guanabara Bay.
The entrance to Guanabara Bay is narrow and divided in half by the Laje fortress, where the currents are strong and the surface agitated by the funnel of water that enters and leaves. For it was exactly when crossing the bar, probably forced by the weight of the water that invaded cellar number 3 and the thick sea, that the Magdalena left between the bridge and the striking yellow chimney, which characterized the company. According to some witnesses, the boilers exploded; which doesn't seem likely, as they were muffled in the first moments of the accident, but the crash of the fracture was enormous, which must have confused the stunned witnesses. Champagne bottles, among others, were collected by the city's oarsmen for several days after the shipwreck. - At 11:40 pm ship time, RMS Titanic struck an iceberg in the North Atlantic Ocean. Only thirty-seven seconds earlier, crewman Frederick Fleet spotted the iceberg straight ahead, but the ship was running at almost top speed, 22 knots (41 km/h; 25 mph), and tore the side after attempting to steer around. The collision occurred roughly 400 miles (640 km) east of Newfoundland. The ship would stay afloat for two hours and forty minutes. The ship closest to the Titanic, SS Californian, was only a few miles away, and had transmitted warnings about the ice field, but its radio operator had turned off his equipment at 11:30 pm, ten minutes before the collision.[51] Throughout the day, Titanic had received warnings from the Caronia, the Noordam, the Baltic, the Amerika, the Californian, and the Mesaba.[34]

- The Titanic sank at 2:20 am ship time. The conclusion of the investigative report by the British Board of Trade found that only 710 of the people on board had survived and 1,514 had died. Most of the survivors (338) were adult men, followed by 316 women and 56 children.[57][58] Evacuation of the ship had been ordered at 12:05 am. The first lifeboat had been lowered before 12:45 am and the last lifeboat was lowered at 2:05 am. Years later, a Titanic historian, Phil Gowan was able to pinpoint the number of people aboard at the time of impact and the number of those who died.[citation needed] Titanic was carrying 2,208 aboard and about 1,496 died, leaving 712 survivors.
