"A Light in Their Darkness"
2003 Christmas Card List

“The Bible tells us how Peter was freed by angels.  You were my angels.
You who wrote and prayed for me were my angels.”
Wuille Ruiz Figueroa (former prisoner in Peru)

“Thank you for everyone who has prayed for me. I really felt the power of your
prayers in prison and they strengthened my faith and gave me strength. I also want to thank
all those who wrote to me. They really brought light into my life.”
Rev. Rinaldy Damanik (imprisoned in Indonesia)

Dear Friends of the Persecuted Church,

We have a unique opportunity to bring hope and joy in Christ to our fellow believers who are suffering for their faith. You have committed all year to praying for them, sometimes protesting on their behalf, and have occasionally had opportunities to write letters of encouragement.

Now, as we near the Christmas season, would you again take the time to remember those whose holiday will be spent behind bars? By sending Christmas cards, you are also sending a message of solidarity. You are "remembering those in prison as though you yourselves were imprisoned."

By writing a letter to your brother or sister in Christ, you are reaching out in a personal way, letting them know that they are being prayed for and that they are not alone in their struggle. Thank you so much for taking the time to be "a light in their darkness." As the letters above indicate, your gift of time and the minimal cost of postage are appreciated more than we could ever know!

* As you read about each prisoner, please be sure to pay attention to the RED NOTES. By following any special instructions, you will have the best opportunity for seeing your card reach the intended recipient without censorship or interference.
