Oklahoma:
ley obligará a la madre a ver al hijo fetal antes de matarlo
Abortion Law In Oklahoma Attacked By Advocacy Group
October 13, 2008
Washington (dbTechno) - The Center for Reproductive Rights has come out and challenged the Oklahoma abortion law in the form of a lawsuit.
There is a law in place in the state of Oklahoma that will require a woman to get an ultrasound before being able to go through with an abortion.
The idea behind the law is to force women to take a look at their fetus.
The Center for Reproductive Rights does not agree with this one bit, and has filed a lawsuit against the state of Oklahoma.
The lawsuit was filed in Oklahoma County District Court, and argues that the law is an invasion of privacy.
They also argue that it puts the health of women in danger, and is also an assault on their dignity.
The new Oklahoma abortion law is set to go into effect on November 1st.
If it does go into effect, it will be the fourth state to have such a law along with Alabama, Louisiana, and Mississippi.
Oklahoma Gov. Brad Henry decided to veto the bill when it came through. His veto was overturned though.
One major issue many have with the law is that the same rules apply for victims of rape or incest.
