The Hope of the Resurrection
13 "And
now, dear brothers and sisters, we want you to know what will happen to
the believers who have died so you will not grieve like people who have
no hope. 14 For
since we believe that Jesus died and was raised to life again, we also
believe that when Jesus returns, God will bring back with him the
believers who have died.
15 We
tell you this directly from the Lord: We who are still living when the
Lord returns will not meet him ahead of those who have died. 16 For
the Lord himself will come down from heaven with a commanding shout,
with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet call of God.
First, the believers who have died will rise from their graves. 17 Then,
together with them, we who are still alive and remain on the earth will
be caught up in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. Then we will be
with the Lord forever. 18 So encourage each other with these words."
Since
our earthly bodies die, when they are resurrected, they will never
die. When the Bible speaks of the resurrected bodies, it is very
specific.
1Corinthians 15:40-44 NLT states the following...
40 "There
are also bodies in the heavens and bodies on the earth. The glory of
the heavenly bodies is different from the glory of the earthly bodies. 41 The
sun has one kind of glory, while the moon and stars each have another
kind. And even the stars differ from each other in their glory.
42 It
is the same way with the resurrection of the dead. Our earthly bodies
are planted in the ground when we die, but they will be raised to live
forever. 43 Our
bodies are buried in brokenness, but they will be raised in glory. They
are buried in weakness, but they will be raised in strength. 44 They
are buried as natural human bodies, but they will be raised as
spiritual bodies. For just as there are natural bodies, there are also
spiritual bodies."
The reason that our bodies have to be resurrected is because flesh and blood cannot inherit the Kingdom of God.
1Corinthians 15:50-58 NLT states the following...
50 "What
I am saying, dear brothers and sisters, is that our physical bodies
cannot inherit the Kingdom of God. These dying bodies cannot inherit
what will last forever.
51 But let me reveal to you a wonderful secret. We will not all die, but we will all be transformed! 52 It
will happen in a moment, in the blink of an eye, when the last trumpet
is blown. For when the trumpet sounds, those who have died will be
raised to live forever. And we who are living will also be transformed. 53 For
our dying bodies must be transformed into bodies that will never die;
our mortal bodies must be transformed into immortal bodies.
54 Then, when our dying bodies have been transformed into bodies that will never die, this Scripture will be fulfilled:
“Death is swallowed up in victory.
55 O death, where is your victory?
O death, where is your sting?”
56 For sin is the sting that results in death, and the law gives sin its power. 57 But thank God! He gives us victory over sin and death through our Lord Jesus Christ.
58 So,
my dear brothers and sisters, be strong and immovable. Always work
enthusiastically for the Lord, for you know that nothing you do for the
Lord is ever useless."
So
now we understand God's love for us. It is only through faith that we
will live with our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ forever. We should
keep loving God and Jesus Christ our Savior. We will have our brothers
and sisters also, what a wonderful gift. Only through God's grace do we
have all the gifts he has prepared for us. Thank you Heavenly Father
for your love for us. Lord God, you have been with us since the
beginning. We love you with all our heart, all our soul, all our mind
and all our strength. We will keep on praising you for your eternal
love.
May God keep blessing your is my desire...
