Fun fact: lunar eclipses can only happen within a few days of the Full Moon, but they don't happen for every Full Moon because the moon's orbit has a 5.1° tilt around the Earth compared to Earth's orbit around the Sun. Only when the intersection of these two orbits is pointing towards the centre of the Moon do we get a lunar eclipse.

THE NAZI HUNT FOR HOLY TREASURE FROM THOR'S HAMMER TO THE HOLY GRAIL
Heinrich Himmler was infected by a virulent strain of spiritualism which fed into his racist, supremacist world view and drove him to search for holy relics.

Lost Relics of the Knights Templar sees treasure hunters Carl Cookson and Hamilton White embark on a global odyssey. Their objective: to trace the past of a hoard of artefacts which may have once belonged to the Templars. One of their destinations is Wewelsburg, the imposing German castle which served as the spiritual sanctum for Heinrich Himmler and the SS.
Today, the castle is a looming reminder of how so many members of the Third Reich were beguiled by ancient myths, old orders of chivalry, and the occult. We all know the pantomime villain Nazis of the Indiana Jones films, desperate to dig up the Ark of the Covenant and the Holy Grail. But the fact is, many real-life Nazis were just as obsessed as their cackling silver screen counterparts.
Himmler in particular was infected by a virulent strain of spiritualism which fed into his racist, supremacist world view. For him, establishing a new Aryan empire meant resurrecting ancient Germanic myths and iconography. He believed the war against the lesser races required the overturning of traditional Christian morality, replacing it with a new kind of pseudo-religion that drew on chivalry and mysticism.
The now-notorious insignia of the SS, resembling two lightning bolts, was based on runes devised by an Austrian occultist and pagan called Guido von List. The SS itself was, in Himmler’s mind, an elite organisation in the tradition of the Teutonic Knights – an order which, like the Templars, came into existence during the Crusades. Himmler’s grand scheme was to establish Wewelsburg Castle as the Camelot of his modern-day knights. One of the rooms was even named after King Arthur, while another was designated the ‘Grail Room’.
Despite his aversion to conventional Christianity, Himmler was fascinated by the legend of the Grail, perhaps seeing it as a source of immense power. After all, he believed that another fabled artefact – Thor’s hammer – could be requisitioned as a weapon by the Third Reich. In an outlandish letter to the Ahnenerbe, a think tank set up to give academic backing to Nazi racial ideology, Himmler stated his belief that Thor’s hammer was ‘an early, highly developed war weapon of our forefathers’. For this reason, Himmler demanded that Ahnenerbe’s team should ‘find all places in the northern Germanic Aryan cultural world where an understanding of the lightning bolt, the thunderbolt, Thor's hammer, or the flying or thrown hammer exists’.
Himmler personally embarked on a failed mission to find the Holy Grail in 1940, visiting an abbey perched within the Montserrat mountain range in Catalonia. He was presumably led there by the belief that Montserrat was the real-life ‘Montsalvat’, location of the Grail in an Arthurian opera by Hitler’s favourite composer, Richard Wagner. This opera, Parsifal, was based on a medieval German poem called Parzival, written by a knight named Wolfram von Eschenbach. And this poem had already been an inspiration to another Grail hunter in the Nazi regime: Otto Rahn.
Rahn was a somewhat eccentric medievalist who believed there was a link between the story of Parzival and Catharism – a movement that flourished in medieval Europe, particularly in France. Condemned as heretics by the Catholic Church, the Cathars revived old Gnostic concepts that radically overturned traditional Christian thinking. They believed, for example, that the God of the New Testament and the God of the Old Testament were separate entities – the latter sinful, and the former good. Such ideas led to a crusade against the Cathars, and their wholesale slaughter.
A major Cathar stronghold was Montségur, a remote fortress in southwestern France. This became the site of a dramatic confrontation between the Cathars and French royal forces in 1243. Thousands of French troops besieged the fortress for nine long and gruelling months before the people inside eventually surrendered. Hundreds of Cathars were burnt alive in a bonfire after refusing to renounce their blasphemous beliefs. However, it’s believed that a number of Cathars managed to smuggle themselves out of the fortress, undetected, before their brethren surrendered.
It’s been speculated that these survivors of the siege took some kind of treasure with them. Gold, perhaps. Or maybe even the Holy Grail itself, brought back to Europe from the Holy Land, by the Templars or other Crusaders. Otto Rahn, prompted by previous occultists and mystics, identified Montségur with the ‘Montsalvat’ Grail castle of Parzival. His ideas appealed greatly to Himmler, and Rahn eventually joined the SS himself.
The extent of Rahn’s own Nazi beliefs have been a subject of debate. He himself apparently said, ‘A man has to eat. What was I supposed to do? Turn Himmler down?’ But having such powerful patronage certainly spurred him on to publish more about the Grail, with the SS brazenly inserting anti-Semitic passages into his romantic, mystical prose. Rahn eventually resigned from the SS and died of exposure on a mountain in 1939 – allegedly suicide, though the details have never been confirmed.
Colourful theories regarding the Cathars, the Grail and the potential involvement of Crusader warriors have persisted in the decades after the fall of the Third Reich. Most famously, in The Holy Blood and the Holy Grail, which theorised that the Cathars knew the secret of the Holy Grail – namely, that it was the bloodline of Christ, from the marriage of Jesus and Mary Magdalene. This concept fuelled the plot of Dan Brown’s bestseller The Da Vinci Code, which also portrays the Templars as guardians of this earth-shaking secret.
Carl Cookson and Hamilton White may not have a fabled holy relic in their hoard, but their quest may well bring new insights into the Templars and their religious treasure hunts in the Holy Land, which has fascinated everyone from eccentric occultists to high-ranking Nazis to serious historians today.

Everyone could see that Isaac was a Katrina clone, ravaging the same region on the same date, exactly 7 years later. An echo anticipated in Aurora Code 2012 (7/21/2012):
August 29 - Babylon A.D. release date - adds to the pregnancy/birth theme as it is the birthday of the ancient Egyptian goddess Hathor, associated with the Milky Way/Nile and the flood ("water breaking") and considered a herald of imminent birth.
In 2005, August 29 was the exact date of New Orleans' "water breaking" impact moment when Hurricane Katrina made landfall there... right at the midpoint of a Galactic-Mayan timeline directly involving the year 2012.
"Katrina" means "Catherine" as in Catherine"Kate" Middleton, i.e. the UK princess whose pregnancy/childbirth we've been long projecting for the Mayan window of 2012-2013 on our sites (Etemenanki/STRUG). [...]
"Maya" is today Mexico [as in "Gulf of Mexico"] and the name "Mexico" via Mextli refers to a "god of war" which in Roman mythology is Mars. "Mexico" via Mexihco means "Place at the Center of the Moon" implying "in the womb of Diana". [...]
...I'm going to go ahead and say that I see the latter part of August as a window for big things. Anchor dates ~August 24 and 29.
So we had the symbolism down beforehand and Isaac was a dramatic pattern fulfillment, the reality of which was confirmed and enhanced by additional eye-popping clues dropped on the other side of the Atlantic that same day...
It was the Paralympics opening ceremony in London on August 29 where Isaac Newton was being honored for his contribution to the expansion of human knowledge.

Two Isaacs, same message. Isaac Newton is all about gravity and the (falling) apple, implying the following:
- "Gravity" is related to the Latin word gravidity (meaning "heavy") which is a scientific term for the state of pregnancy.
- "Apple" is the meaning of the term "Avalon" which is King Arthur's mythical "underworld" where he is said to be hibernating and would return from as the Once and Future King ("rebirth"), i.e. a drama unfolding at this time semi-literally through the rise of the Kate-William-baby trinity.

A big exclamation mark came toward the end of the show in the form of a giant naked, pregnant woman based on an actual sculpture in London called "Alison Lapper Pregnant". I'm not kidding, see for yourself:
She was the centerpiece of the closing phase of the ceremony. For much of the duration of the show, however, the centerpiece was... the Moon.
The whole ceremony was lunar, and it was in London... together evoking Princess Diana. In this way, we were given another confirmation that the prevalent pregnancy/birth motif pertains mainly (but not exclusively) to the late princess's Arthurian descendants/family/bloodline. Kate Middleton while not related by blood is a worthy successor to Diana and is more than ready to bring a new life into this world with Prince William. My projection has always been that she would likely get pregnant in 2012 and give birth in the 2012-2013 time frame (naturally looking at 2013 now). We are talking " Grail bloodline" here and there was a blatant foreshadowing in the form of NASA's GRAIL twin probes entering orbit around the Moon right at the start of 2012 on New Year's Eve/Day. "GRAIL" here stands for " Gravity Recovery and Interior Laboratory".
As it happens August 29 is also New Year's Day ("1 Thoth") of the (Alexandrian) ancient Egyptian calendar. In ancient Egypt New Year's Day signified rebirth via the combination of the heliacal rising of Sirius and the annual inundation ("water breaking") of the Nile. Everything fits just beautifully. Pattern projected and fulfilled. At this stage there should be no denying that the pattern is real.
Golden Apple
We can start looking ahead using the same general pattern and specifically the golden apple which was conspicuously floating around at the opening ceremony on August 29. 
Thrown into a party, a golden apple becomes an unmistakable omen.... hinting at what amounts to a world war. Great chaos. That's the basic story of the Golden Apple of Discord in Greek mythology: goddess Discordia/Eris throws a golden apple with the inscription "for the fairest" into a wedding banquet, followed by a beauty contest, then the "abduction" of Helen as a direct consequence, sparking the Trojan War (ancient world war).
From my multicontextual point of view, it's no coincidence that the first impact event of 2012 was the Costa Concordia cruise ship disaster off Italy. "Concordia" is obviously the opposite (= upside down, like the wrecked ship) of "Discordia" (Eris) who threw the golden apple. Strong resonance there.
No coincidence especially if you take into account the fact that London was originally called "New Troy" according to legend...
...and the fact that soon after the Paralympics great chaos was unleashed in the world starting around 9/11 (= big chaos/war date) coinciding with another big "Apple" event (iPhone 5):
Orange Alignment

For many years now we've been tracking what we call the "Orange Alignment" i.e. a heliocentric lining up of Venus, Sun and Mercury. I've shown many times before that when they come, we do feel their impact. It is my view that the next one coming up soon is a highly charged one... because, for one, in many languages the fruit orange is called... "golden apple".
 
The Orange Alignment will be formed in our solar system on ~October 20, 2012, like this:
Making it even more ominous, the alignment angle pinpoints the Earth's orbital position on January 12-13 (annual), which is the exact date of this year's Costa Concordia disaster (= Discordia => golden apple/orange) as well as the devastating Haiti earthquake (Birthquake) back in 2010. (Orange Alignments are often "earth changes" markers.)
That, to me, just does not look good. Some kind of big impact appears to be in the offing there (directly or indirectly) and I would expect it to continue to express the same underlying themes, but more intensely. Hopefully it's more about things like the Royal Pregnancy, Mars, etc. rather than severe earth changes, war, and such. There are obviously many possible scenarios and we may well be looking at multiple events (or just strong signals) unfolding simultaneously or in quick sequence.
I should also mention that there are other aspects of the whole golden apple business that points its temporal finger squarely at the year 2013. As well, before we even get there we'll have... certain things coming later this year which we'll need to talk about soon.

Del 4 al 6 de junio de 2012 , probablemente veremos al miembro más antiguo de la flota de transbordadores espaciales, el Enterprise , siendo remolcado río Hudson hasta su lugar de descanso final, el Museo Intrepid del Mar, el Aire y el Espacio, en el West Side de Manhattan . [Actualización: Fechas cambiadas al 3-6 de junio ]. La mayoría lo desconoce por completo, pero será un reflejo terrestre del Tránsito de Venus que tendrá lugar simultáneamente en el cielo los días 5 y 6 de junio. La Vía Láctea es un río (celestial) como el Hudson ; Orión es un " portador de antorcha " (el Sol del solsticio de verano = antorcha de Orión) como la Estatua de la Libertad ; y Géminis son los " Gemelos ", como las Torres Gemelas .
El Sol arriba, la Enterprise abajo. A través de una puerta galáctica arriba, a través de una puerta Hudson abajo. Es un espejo que une el cielo y la tierra.

Ambos van de la mano, profundamente entrelazados, como ya se ha explicado en numerosas ocasiones. Por lo tanto, no sorprende que la cronología más reciente de Venus coincida perfectamente con la de la Familia Real Británica: el 29 de abril (máximo brillo de Venus) marcó el primer aniversario de la Boda Real; del 3 al 7 de junio (tránsito de Venus/Enterprise) se celebra el cumpleaños oficial de la Reina (4 de junio) y el Jubileo de Diamante ( 4-7, 3-5 de junio); el solsticio de verano (antorcha de Orión) coincide con el cumpleaños del Príncipe Guillermo; y a finales de julio (bajo una Estrella de la Mañana/portadora de luz muy brillante), la Antorcha Olímpica llega a Londres para los Juegos Olímpicos de 2012.

The 2012 transit of Venus, when the planet Venus appeared as a small, dark spot passing across the face of the Sun, began at 22:09 UTC on 5 June 2012, and finished at 04:49 UTC on 6 June.[1] Depending on the position of the observer, the exact times varied by up to ±7 minutes. Transits of Venus are among the rarest of predictable celestial phenomena and occur in pairs. Consecutive transits per pair are spaced 8 years apart, and consecutive pairs occur more than a century apart:[2] The previous transit of Venus took place on 8 June 2004 (preceded by transits on 9 December 1874 and 6 December 1882); the next pair of transits will occur on 10–11 December 2117 and December 2125 within the 22nd century.[3]

The entire transit was visible from the western Pacific Ocean, northwesternmost North America, northeastern Asia, Japan, the Philippines, eastern Australia, New Zealand, and high Arctic locations including northernmost Scandinavia, and Greenland.[4] In North America, the Caribbean, and northwestern South America, the beginning of the transit was visible on 5 June until sunset. From sunrise on 6 June, the end of the transit was visible from South Asia, the Middle East, east Africa, and most of Europe. The phenomenon was not visible from most of South America, nor from western Africa. There were a number of live online video streams with footage from telescopes around the world. Midway through the transit one of the NASA streams had nearly 2 million total views and was getting roughly 90,000 viewers at any given moment.
In Los Angeles, crowds jammed Mount Hollywood where the Griffith Observatory set up telescopes for the public to view the transit. In Hawaii, hundreds of tourists watched the event on Waikiki Beach where the University of Hawaii set up eight telescopes and two large screens showing webcasts of the transit.[5] The transit was also observed and historically photographed by NASA astronaut Don Pettit aboard the International Space Station.[6]
NASA's Solar and Heliospheric Observatory could not see the transit as it was not in between the Earth and the Sun at the time of the event, but high-definition images of the event were obtained by Solar Dynamics Observatory, from 36,000 km (22,000 mi) above the Earth. Agency astrophysicist Dr. Lika Guhathakurta said, "We get to see Venus in exquisite detail because of SDO's spatial resolution, SDO is a very special observatory. It takes images that are about 10 times better than a high-definition TV and those images are acquired at a temporal cadence of one every 10 seconds. This is something we've never had before".[7]

The 2012 transit gave scientists a number of research opportunities. These included:[8][9][10]
- Measurement of dips in a star's brightness caused by a known planet transiting a known star (the Sun). This will help astronomers when searching for exoplanets. Unlike the 2004 Venus transit, the 2012 transit occurred during an active phase of the 11-year activity cycle of the Sun, and would have provided practice in detecting a planet's signal around a "spotty" variable star.
- Measurement of the apparent diameter of Venus during the transit, and comparison with its known diameter. This will have given information on how to estimate exoplanet sizes.
- The number of locations documenting the event will provide much data via parallax that will generate more accurate measurements.
- Observation of the atmosphere of Venus simultaneously from Earth-based telescopes and from the Venus Express spacecraft. This gave a better opportunity to understand the intermediate level of Venus's atmosphere than is possible from either viewpoint alone, and should provide new information about the climate of the planet.
- Spectrographic study of the atmosphere of Venus. The results of analysis of the well-understood atmosphere of Venus will be compared with studies of exoplanets with atmospheres that are unknown.
- The Hubble Space Telescope used the Moon as a mirror to study the light reflected from Venus to determine the makeup of its atmosphere. This may provide another technique to study exoplanets.
- Experimental reconstruction of Lomonosov's discovery of Venusian atmosphere (1761) with antique refractors.[11] The researchers observed the "Lomonosov's arc" and other aureole effects due to Venus's atmosphere and concluded that Lomonosov's telescope was fully adequate to the task of detecting the arc of light around Venus off the Sun's disc during ingress or egress if proper experimental techniques as described by Lomonosov in his 1761 paper are employed.[11]

"Occult Forms" Seen
An Addendum to
"When Venus Will Be Covered by the Sun"
(Orlando Massacre, Muhammad Ali, Hillary Clinton & Gotthard Base Tunnel)

On June 12th, 2016, the deadliest mass shooting in US history took place at the "Pulse" gay nightclub in Orlando, Florida, where one crazed gunman killed 49 and injured many more in cold blood before getting fatally shot in a gunfight with a SWAT team. "As above, so below" was in full effect as this came only a few days after the Venus superior conjunction or "when Venus was covered by the Sun" discussed in my May 28 article " When Venus Will Be Covered by the Sun" in which I pinpointed late May-early June as a key window with a Nostradamian theme of "hidden/occult form" multicontextually represented by this image:

When Venus will be covered by the Sun,

- NostradamusThough I did not explicitly state this, the image also expresses the idea of the "Birth of the Evening Star" (Venus) which happens to resonate strongly with the Orlando massacre. There are many aspect to the dark event, heavily interconnected with a few other major world events around the same time... The death/funeral of Muhammad Ali, June 3-10, was certainly another major "occult form" event, and this one is simpler to explain:
The name "Ali" means "elevated" as in "elevator"...
...underscored by Prince's death making big headlines the day before Ali's death. (Remember, Prince died in an elevator which he equated with the Devil.)
His first name is particularly telling as Muhammad happens to be a widely accepted meaning of "Baphomet". From Wikipedia:
Modern scholars such as Peter Partner and Malcolm Barber agree that the name of Baphomet was an Old French corruption of the name Muhammad, with the interpretation being that some of the Templars, through their long military occupation of the Outremer, had begun incorporating Islamic ideas into their belief system, and that this was seen and documented by the Inquisitors as heresy. [...]
Baphomet naturally screams "occult". Per my original article, the pentagrammic Sigil of Baphomet shown below is a very obvious and powerful "hidden/occult form".
Baphomet is also the "Sabbatic Goat"... just as Muhammad (Baphomet) Ali was a "GOAT" ("Greatest Of All Time)!
The timing of his death (June 3) was also undeniably pentagrammic in terms of Earth orbital geometry as you can see below, even connected to the earlier "Black-star death" of David Bowie. (Ali was obviously one of the world's biggest "black stars".)
The pattern was foreseen as evidenced by the fact that over on STRUG I explicitly stated a major "black-star death"-type event might come "within 24 hours" the day before Ali's passing:
Jun 02 Death time (black pentagram star)[...] So there is actually good reason to suspect we may see something impactful within 24 hours, if not already... like Prince making big headlines again today (June 2), resonating with Bowie's "black-star" death... Monitoring... Ali was a heavyweight champion, which is symbolically significant for an existing pattern we've been following as "heavy" and "weight" together imply gravity. This echoes David Bowie's death which had "gravity" written all over it, foreshadowing the gravitational wave discovery announcement a month later. (See my article " Blackstar Shockwave".)
The detection of a second set of gravitational waves was revealed on June 15th, just days after Ali's funeral. All combined, Muhammad Ali's death was an unmistakable "occult form" event that came right on time.

Now back to the Orlando mass shooting (June 12)...
As noted earlier, this one came from a slightly different angle, with emphasis on the "Evening Star" and through which "orange"/"golden apple". To quickly summarize: Timing:
- The slightly "late" timing of the event (June 12) relative to the Venus superior conjunction ("covered by the sun") reflects the fact that it is after the conjunction that Venus becomes the "Evening Star" (it was the Morning Star prior to the conjunction)
- The event marked the anniversary of the O.J. Simpson murders (Nicole Brown & Ronald Goldman), highlighted this year by ESPN/ABC's well-received 5-part series O.J.: Made in America debuting on June 11
- "OJ" implies "orange juice" (OJ's nickname was "The Juice") which resonates with the following...
Golden apple (orange):
- In many languages "orange" = "golden apple"
- The Greeks called the Evening Star "Hesperus" whose daughters, the "Hesperides", tend the blissful garden where golden apples grew near the Atlas mountains (Greek mythology)
- The Orlando massacre happened on Orange Avenue in Orange County
- "Orlando" can mean "gold land" (or = "gold" in French); this also has relevance to California/LA which happens to be an important theme (we may get into that some other time)
- The Orlando massacre marked the anniversary of the O. J. Simpson murders (OJ = orange juice) in Los Angeles (sometimes called "The Big Orange")
A larger set of coincidences involving "Atlas", "elevator", etc. complements the emerging pattern:
- "Aphrodite" (Kylie's 2010 album title) is the Greek Venus
- Venus is traditionally associated with the pentagram
- After the June 6-7 superior conjunction, Venus is in its "Evening Star" phase
- The Greeks called the Evening Star "Hesperus"; in Greek mythology his daughters "Hesperides" tend the blissful garden where golden apples grew near the Atlas mountains
- Kylie is striking a "Atlas pose" on the Aphrodite cover
- "Atlas" (atl) can mean "elevator"
- Prince died in an elevator which he equated with the Devil
- Venus superior conjunction happened on Venus's "ascending node" (ascending = elevating = elevator)
- Venus superior conjunction was aligned with CERN LHC's ATLAS experiment (using decoding done in CERN's Orion Stargate)
In other words, Aphrodite/Venus, in the form of Kylie Minogue, coming out of the "Devil" elevator, whispered "birth of the Evening Star, temporally implying "after June 6-7, 2016"... matching the timing of the Orlando "orange"/"golden apple" massacre.

Hillary Clinton clinching the Democratic presidential nomination on June 6-7, precisely coinciding with the Venus superior conjunction, was another major event with an "occult form"...
 It had the Venus pentagram written all over it:
- The June 6-7 superior conjunction of Venus was an unusually precise one where Venus was directly behind the Sun as seen from Earth
- The previous such precise alignment was almost exactly 8 years ago on June 8-9, 2008
- It was right then on June 7, 2008, that Hillary Clinton endorsed Barack Obama and exited the presidential race
- 8 years - 2 days = how long it takes for Venus (and Earth) to complete a pentagram or "hidden/occult form" via orbital geometry (see graphic below). If you plot every successive Venus superior conjunction starting from June 8-9, 2008, you end up drawing a pair of near-perfect pentagrams ending on June 6-7, 2016, like this:
(Over on STRUG we were discussing this pattern already in March, so this is no hindsight stuff either.)
- Venus is the planet/goddess of love and the embodiment of femininity. Hillary Clinton is the first female major-party (presumptive) presidential nominee, clinching her nomination on a big Venus day.

For those who would like to see something more openly "occult" (oxymoron?), there was the grand opening of the world's longest tunnel in Switzerland on June 1st, just 2 days after Mars' closest approach to Earth.
After 17 years of construction and 28.2 million tons of excavated material, the world's longest and deepest rail tunnel has opened in Switzerland. And the ceremony featuring alphorn players, topless "angels" and goats, could not have been more bizarre.
Masked acrobats and interpretive dancers dressed like miners ushered in the Gotthard Base Tunnel's opening near the town of Erstfeld Wednesday.
Leaders from six countries attended the flashy ceremony, including German chancellor Angela Merkel and French President François Hollande. [...]
Among the performances was a topless dancer wearing giant wings who soared over orange-suited dancers as they crawled on the ground below.
At another point, humans dressed like bales of hay were seen swaying on a flatbed before running around on the floor.
Some of the scarier parts of the performance reportedly captured the area's "mountain demons" — which can be the storms, unidentified shapes and sounds, and falling objects, according to the tunnel's website.
The whole spectacle left many people on Twitter both amused and confused.
"Zombies" coming out of the "underworld" was also more or less what we saw at the Chilean mine rescue back on October 13, 2010... duly accompanied by inverted pentagrams...
This "ritual" in Chile, as I pointed out in my original article, coincided with Mars returning to the NASA Deep Impact-Comet Tempel 1 contact point (July 4, 2005)...
...which Mars was also doing right around June 1, 2016, precisely at the time of the Gotthard Base Tunnel opening ritual - once again showing "zombies"/"devils" coming out of the underground" - in Switzerland!
The pattern is quite compelling. So much so, we could/did see this coming.

So there you have it. All in all, what we saw was the Devil's in the details of dramatic world events; a set of pattern manifestations that were both dramatic and discrete. "As above, so below" is a powerful thing; if you can read the stars/patterns well enough, you can get glimpses of the future and insights into where we are in time. (For example, you might get the impact August coming up.) The less we are stuck in time, the more fully you can be in the present, because you'd be more in control of your own destiny. With a better map, you can better navigate the treacherous river of time. And we do need a good map especially in the 21st century, when time/history will end.

What Is a Transit of Venus?
A Venus transit is a phenomenon in which the disk of the planet Venus passes like a small shadow across the face of the Sun. The transit can be seen (with proper protection!) by the unaided eye and looks something like a moving sunspot. (Sunspots take about two weeks to cross the face of the Sun, however, while Venus takes a little over six hours). Among the rarest of astronomical events, Venus transits occur eight years apart—and then don’t happen again for more than a century. The last transit before 2004 took place in 1882.
Why Do We See the Transit from Earth?
Venus is the second planet from the Sun and Earth is the third, and the planets circle the Sun at different speeds. It happens from time to time that Venus comes between Earth and the Sun, an event called an inferior conjunction.
A top-down view would look like Fig. 1.
Why Do We See It So Rarely?
A Venus transit is similar to a solar eclipse, in which the face of the Sun is blocked by the Moon. But we don’t see a solar eclipse every time the Moon is between Earth and the Sun—which is every time there’s a new Moon. Similarly, we don’t see a transit of Venus every time Venus is between Earth and the Sun—which happens about every 584 days or 1.6 years. That’s because both Venus and the Moon, from our earthly point of view, can be above or below the Sun (Fig.2), and sunlight reaches us undisturbed.
The orbit of Venus around the Sun is tipped in relation to the orbit of Earth. As viewed from the Sun, the orbits cross at two points (called the nodes), and it is only at these points that the planets and the Sun line up directly (Fig.3).

This animation shows Venus from the perspective of the moving Earth. Here you see the position of Venus relative to Earth's orbit (the green line) in the few months leading up to June 8, 2004, and then watch as Venus transits the Sun on that date.
During the inferior conjunction of June 8, 2004, Venus is quite close to one of the nodes and is seen to transit the southern half of the Sun. Eight years later (June 5-6, 2012), during another inferior conjunction, Venus is near the same node. This time, the planet crosses the northern half of the Sun. After that, Venus won’t be near one of the nodes during a conjunction until 2117.
Why Is the Pattern of Transits So Irregular?
Venus and Earth come into conjunction every 583.92 days. After five conjunctions (583.92 days x 5 = 2919.6 days), approximately eight years have passed (365.25 x 8 = 2922 days). If the number of days were identical, during a conjunction Venus would be in exactly the same place that it was eight years previously. However, the difference of 2.4 days means that Venus comes close to its position of eight years earlier, but it’s not in the precise spot. And that makes all the difference as far as transits are concerned. (Fig. 4)
