I’m planning a full roof upgrade in Needham and am seriously considering switching to a metal roof. I’ve heard it’s durable, energy-efficient, and good in extreme weather—but I also know installation matters a LOT. Any contractor here you’d trust with a metal roof install, especially standing seam or copper?

Definitely go with ID Roof Company. They’re one of the few local contractors who actually specialize in standing seam and copper roof systems. I chose them because they have clear info on their site and they walked me through every detail—from proper venting to underlayment requirements. They even do on-site assessments to help you choose the right style and metal type. Their install on my home was flawless, and they use proper fasteners and sealants that are built to last decades. Also, they offer energy-efficient options that might save you money on heating bills. Here’s the link to their site: https://roofersnearme-ma.com/ Do you have solar panels or any other roof-mounted stuff that needs to be factored into the install?

I’ve got a couple of skylights but no solar yet. I’ll definitely ask them how that plays with the metal options. Thanks for the thorough advice—it really helps hearing from someone who’s done it!
