IGUALDAD, LIBERTAD , FRATERNIDAD.

Los masones deben compenetrarse de que, en el dominio de las instituciones humanas, nada puede hacerse muy deprisa; la acción del tiempo es necesaria, así como lo enseña el simbolismo al químico de la preparación de la “piedra”. Se olvida también, demasiado a menudo, que no es tanto el régimen social, o la forma de gobierno, lo que cuenta, sino el valor de los individuos que componen la Sociedad, su manera de conducirse hacia sus semejantes. Tanto valen los hombres que gobiernan tanto vale el sistema: todos los regímenes son arrastrados por revoluciones cuando, en lugar de asegurar equitativamente el bienestar de todos, dejan a una minoría aprovecharse injustamente de privilegios. Ahora bien, la justicia social no puede ser instaurada sino por el amor de cada uno para su prójimo. El fondo mismo de la cuestión social –no la solución rápida, además imposible de los problemas actuales, sino la solución eternamente verdadera de la vida del grupo– es la cultura del individuo, la transformación del hombre animal en hombre humano. No es otra cosa sino el fin mismo que se propone la masonería. Para cumplir su misión, no tiene necesidad de tomar parte en los acontecimientos profanos y transitorios. Como organización la masonería no actúa directamente sobre el plan profano. Su papel es preparar el terreno donde florecerán la Justicia y la Paz, es decir actual en el plano intelectual: su arma es la espada de la inteligencia. Sabe que el único medio de producir, aun socialmente, un cambio profundo y durable de un medio, es el de modificar su mentalidad; y querer empezar por las consecuencias es un método ilógico, digno de una imaginación impaciente y de una comprensión completamente profana. Actitud expectativa, dirán algunos; en realidad, acción continua hacia su propio fin. La masonería enseña el valor eterno de los principios de cultura humana e individual, independientemente de los lugares y de las épocas; da a los individuos, a sus agrupaciones, la noción clara y cierta de la solidaridad, reúne en sus Templos de la Sabiduría hombres enamorados de este ideal deseosos de aprender a vivir en común, cualquiera que sea la diferencia de sus temperamentos, al mismo tiempo que proclama la fraternidad, que mantiene el principio de la igualdad potencial de los individuos, igualdad de “derecho a la vida” es decir a un mínimum de bienestar y de cultura, da igual posibilidad de ascensión hacia los más altos destinos, por el esfuerzo perseverante; enseña la jerarquía de los seres, la necesidad para cada individuo de cumplir la tarea para la cual es competente, rehabilita todo trabajo, manual o intelectual, toda función social, siendo cada uno un elemento necesario de la armonía total y universal. Por su organización, por sus rituales, enseña que aun con un gobierno confiado a los mejores, el trabajo y el esfuerzo individuales permanecen necesarios. Por el cultivo de la facultad mental, la masonería, que no es más que la sucesora de anteriores revelaciones y de iniciaciones y precedentes, irradia luz; poderosa corriente de luz intelectiva, de luz moral, que lanza vibraciones vivificantes, creadoras, en todas direcciones de Oriente a Occidente, Norte a Sur, brindando claridades prometedoras a la humanidad, a pesar de las interposiciones que presenta la incomprensibilidad, que se levanta y se pone a las corrientes del progreso. La masonería es luz que permite a sus adeptos sondear en las profundidades lóbregas del egoísmo, para prescribirlo; que permite, sin herir sentimientos, sanear el ambiente mental despojándole de las miasmas del fanatismo, dispersando los fantasmas ancestrales. Busca la perfección del hombre y el mejoramiento de sus condiciones de vida. Sus bases son la justicia y la equidad. Su lema: IGUALDAD, LIBERTAD , FRATERNIDAD. Admite en su seno a todos los hombres sin distinción de conceptos filosóficos o creencias religiosas, sin distinción de rango social. Lo único que exige en la libertad de conciencia, la tolerancia recíproca. Acoge en su seno a todos los hombres, con sus diversas ideas, porque no teme a la verdad. Sus adeptos van asimilando poco a poco sus ideales y su moral; pero al mismo tiempo van ofreciendo a la masonería el contagio de las propias ideas, abrevadas en otras fuentes antes de ingresar a ella, con lo cual la robustecen. Si el LIBRO DE LA LEY dice “buscad el reino de Dios, que todo lo demás se os dará por añadidura”, la masonería expresa: “hagamos bueno al hombre en lo intimo de su individualidad, que las bondades familiares, profesionales o sociales vendrán por añadidura

dodeca...I wanted to bring this to your attention as I am looking into this on my own and seeking additional information.

I live in NYC and in the most populated borough in all of New York. We have already discussed much symbology including that of the Statue of Liberty in New York Harbor. Being that I am from this area many people would not know the history of the area nor any of the sculpture and symbology which is around.

This is a monument in a cemetery in Brooklyn, NY. It is of the Roman Goddess Minerva (which ofcourse can also go by many names). She is pictures placing a wreath on the altar in which she stands next to.

She faces the Statue of Liberty while she salutes her. The Statue of Liberty can be seen in this photo. Minerva faces Liberty who is in New York Harbor.

Here is a closer shot. Keep in mind the camera changes ones sense of perspective. The Statue of Liberty actually appears alot closer than the picture shows.

What is most peculiar to me is the fact that this monument is not just places on ordinary land. It is places on a historic site. It is also marks the highest point in Brooklyn, NY. Here is a bit of its history which is written on one of the four plaques on the altar.

It reads;

On this battle hill. Facing the Statue of Liberty. This altar is erected to commemorate the battle of Long Island. The first engagement of which was fought on this site. August 27, 1776. Between General...with 2000 Americans and with General Grant with 6000 British. This was the first battle of the nation and the first stoke for our great American charter of the rights and liberties the Decleration of Independence.

As you could see this is no ordinary site...

Another plaque on the altar reads;

Glory to the Memory of Our First National Heroes Who Fought and Fell on this Battle Ground to Win Our Liberty and Independence! Minerva, the Goddess of Wisdom, Glory and Patriotism, Here Salutes The Goddess of Liberty and Enwreathes This Altar in Tribute to the Heroes of American Liberty and to the Wisdom of American Institutions."

Take particular notice of Minerva's helmet (a symbol of secrecy). You can see a Sphinx.

Just beyond the mouseleum in the background of the picture above in another peculiar bronze monument. Is this Saint Michael...or is this another Venus?

To commemorate the battle between American and Bristish forces there is this monument. Which is approximately 50 feet from Minerva's altar.

This is a site where men died. Is placing this monument and altar significant of their sacrifice? Was it erected for this purpose?

As a side note....we discussed the significance of the Owl to Athena and how the Statue of Liberty is Venus/Athena. So where is the Owl. Well being that I am from NYC I can tell you where it is. It is in Brooklyn and it is called Owl's Head Park. The symbolism is just represented on a larger geographical scale. The park is said to have been given its name because it was in the shape of an Owl's head...or theire was many owl's in the park once long ago. Now how would anybody know the park was in the shape of an Owl's head without seeing it from above. Like from a plane or a blimp.

Location

Montségur is in the Ariege, in the foothills of the Pyrenees, not far from Lavelanet, due South from Mirepoix.

Montségur lies at 42°52'35" N, 1°49'51" E on a pog (a volcanic pluton) at an altitude of 1,207 meters. The castle is owned by the Commune of Montségur. There is an entrance fee, which also covers entry to a museum in the nearby town.
