That's right: Sirius rises at 26 degrees south of east, or bearing 116 degrees, from the latitude of Paris, and this is the direction in which the Champs Elysées is aligned.

The Champs Elysées. The name is French for "Elysian Fields":

Quote:
Elysium or the Elysian Fields (Ancient Greek: Ἠλύσιον πεδίον, Ēlýsion pedíon) is a conception of the afterlife that evolved over time and was maintained by certain Greek religious and philosophical sects, and cults. Initially separate from the realm of Hades, admission was initially reserved for mortals related to the gods and other heroes. Later, it expanded to include those chosen by the gods, the righteous, and the heroic, where they would remain after death, to live a blessed and happy life, and indulging in whatever employment they had enjoyed in life.
Remember how the novel Arch of Triumph 1948 describes the Arc de Triomphe?: as the "huge gate to Hades"

Now, the star Sirius, which is the star associated with Isis, rises from Paris every day at 116 degrees, but it does so at a different time each day.

On August 31 each year, and on August 31 1997, Sirius rises about 5:30am. That means that if you had stood in the Champs Elysées and sighted along the avenue, before dawn on the morning that Diana died, you would see this sight: or at least, this is a version of what it would look like stitched together out of Google earth and Stellarium.

I got a bit more creative:

Then, a few minutes later, the moon rose, though it was almost imperceptible. Nevertheless it was there: so this was the scene in the skies to the east of Paris, literally as the official announcement of the death of Diana was made. Sirius rising through the Arc de Triomphe and along the Champs Elysées, and the moon further to the north, breaking the horizon within minutes. The moon, Diana, and Sirius, Isis, hovering over the city waking up to the news.

So how is Diana equal to Isis, or Sirius?

Diana was born with the sun conjunct Sirius. Her astrology chart for those of you who are happy with that kind of thing, is here. Her natal sun is at 9 degrees 40 minutes of Cancer, and Sirius is at 13 degrees 32 minutes of Cancer, which is within the orb of a conjunction.

So Diana's sun at birth is conjunct Sirius!

Now this is true for any one who is born on July 1, or a day or two either side. Like Charles Laughton. Anyone with a July 1 birthday is a fitting archetype, potentially, for Isis, as their sun, or individuality, aligns with that of Isis.

Diana certainly steps into her archetypes, no question of that, as the images above show, and plenty more to come on that.

There are enough clues on the table now to be able to bring some ideas into focus.

Elysian Fields. Gate to Hades. Arc de Triomphe sited on the "star", symbol of Isis. Champs Elysées aligned to the rising of Sirius=Isis. Paris as ancient temple of Isis. Isis who came to Paris on a boat. Diana, who came to Paris on a boat, whose name was changed to Osiris. The moon at it's lowest ebb, at it's darkest, at it's nadir. Death, as the moon is extinguished.

And then rebirth, as Sirius rises above the horizon, reborn, through the gates, the portals, of the Arch of Triumph.

This is a ritual, a theatrical presentation, a play that runs without a script yet everything, somehow, happens right on cue. Down to the minute. Yet it seems to resonate across the centuries, even the millennia...

The crucial event of the novel/film/film of Arch of Triumph is the killing of the nazi Haake, by the refugee surgeon, Ravic, in a car, in the early hours of the morning, in Paris, after driving past the Arc de Triomphe.

In the novel, the precise date of this event is not specified. It is 1939, and it is even named as August, even late August, as the plot is against the backdrop of the gathering storm clouds of World War 2, but the exact night is not named.

In the 1948 film, as we've seen, the date is firmed up to the night of August 30, as the calendar is used to circle the dates to countdown the return of Haake from Berlin.

If you watch that part 7 of the movie on youtube, you will notice that there is another time cue given immediately after the scene in which Ravic kills Haake. In the scene, an accouncement comes on the radio that the British ambassador had issued an ultimatum to Hitler to withdraw from Poland.

This occured on the morning of September 1, 1939. Let's brush up on our history, special subject, exact date of the beginning of World War 2.

Quote:
The start of the war is generally held to be 1 September 1939, beginning with the German invasion of Poland; Britain and France declared war on Germany two days later.
Quote:
After having gained both Austria and Czechoslovakia, Hitler was confident that he could again move east, this time acquiring Poland without having to fight Britain or France. (To eliminate the possibility of the Soviet Union fighting if Poland were attacked, Hitler made a pact with the Soviet Union - the*Nazi-Soviet Non-Aggression Pact.)

So that Germany did not officially seem the aggressor (which it was), Hitler needed an excuse for attacking Poland. It was Heinrich Himmler who came up with the idea; thus the plan was code-named Operation Himmler.

On the night of August 31, 1939, Nazis took an unknown prisoner from one of their concentration camps, dressed him in a Polish uniform, took him to the town of Gleiwitz (on the border of Poland and Germany), and then shot him. The staged scene with the dead prisoner dressed in a Polish uniform was supposed to appear as a Polish attack against a German radio station.

Hitler used this staged attack as the excuse to invade Poland.

Blitzkrieg

At 4:45 on the morning of September 1, 1939 (the morning following the staged attack), German troops entered Poland. The sudden, immense attack by the Germans was called a Blitzkrieg ("lightening war").
The German air attack hit so quickly that most of Poland's air force was destroyed while still on the ground. To hinder Polish mobilization, the Germans bombed bridges and roads. Groups of marching soldiers were machine-gunned from the air.

...

Declarations of War

On September 1, 1939, the beginning of the German attack, Great Britain and France sentAdolf Hitler*an ultimatum - either withdraw German forces from Poland or Great Britain and France would go to war against Germany.

On September 3, with Germany's forces penetrating deeper into Poland, Great Britain and France both declared war on Germany.

http://history1900s.about.com/od/wor...wwiistarts.htm
By clarifying the night of the crucial events of the novel, narrowing it down to after August 30th (the date circled on the calendar), and before September 1st, (the day of the British ultimatum), the 1948 movie version has the climax of the story co-incide with the climax of the beginning of the war.

August 31 was the date of the staged attack, the false flag attack, which precipitated the ultimatums and the declaration of war.

This is a highly charged night in European history, of course.

Now we can see that the makers of the film have brought this element into sharp focus, by adding the detail of this date to the key scene.

We've now come along and drawn a staight line between this movie and the Diana event, which also took place on August 31 of course.

Just follow the dots. The day of the death of Diana, August 31 1997, resonates with the beginning of World War 2, specifically, the false flag event which immediately preceded and precipitated it, August 31 1939.

It's always a good idea when working with time cues to make sure you are thoroughly oriented to the local landscape. Not all of us (hi MOB) necessarily live on the Left Bank and know our way around the City of Lights, and it can get confusing following all the different trails, so I've prepared some handy maps.

First: Paris, with the locations of the places mentioned in this story. This combines the places mentioned in the novel which have identified locations, as well as the places from the Diana Dodi weekend.

Next, I've taken the same map, and added the various trips that are going on.

In yellow, orange, and red (though I think the orange is hidden), are the journeys of Diana and Dodi on the afternoon and evening of August 30/31 1997. They arrive from the airport north of Paris, and drive to the Villa Windsor, where the marked yellow trail begins. After half an hour here, they proceed to Dodi's apartment next to the Arc de Triomphe. How close exactly? See below. Then from there to the Ritz for afternoon tea. Back to the apartment (this is the orange), and then back to the Ritz when dinner plans change. Then the final journey in red to the accident zone.

In blue, the route that Ravic drives Haake to his death. The exact location of the Osiris Brothel, possibly imaginary, is not given, so the blue line starts as they drive along the Champs Elysées towards the Arc de Triomphe. The novel then gives enough detail to work out the rest of the journey. He turns left at the Arc, drives down to the Seine, around the road by the river, then turns back away from the river, past a restuarant which is still there called les Cascades. He then crosses into the Bois de Bologne along Allée Longchamps, across Rue de la Reine Marguerite, and then turns off into a side road into the woods, where the killing takes place.

As you can see, this is literally a stone's throw from the Villa Windsor.

Here is the map, first zoomed out so you can see the full Ravic/Haake route, then a second time zoomed in a little.

That apartment of Dodi's, or his dad's actually. The address was 1 Rue Arsene-Houssaye. It's next to the Cartier store on the Champs Elysées, which is about as close to the Arc de Triomphe as you can get without being run over.

We have google street view now, so lets see: that's it there to the right:

One more: here is the genuine Prince de Galles Hotel, in which the fictional Ravic stayed while he waited to kill Haake....

Lady DIANA SPENCER, A Limo And An Underpass: What Happened?

In roman mythology, Diana was the goddess of the hunt, the moon, and birthing.

It seems natural to ask:

Where was the moon in it's cycles, and position, on the fateful night?

August 30/31 1997 night was the last night of the "harvest" moon.

Quote:
The Full Harvest Moon is the full moon that occurs closest to the autumnal equinox.
On the new moon the following night, there was a partial solar eclipse. Many key events in the life of Diana co-incided with eclipses.

So the moon being in the final night of it's phase cycle meant it was almost completely dark, showing just a narrow crescent.

At this phase of the lunar cycle, the moon sets in the evening, around 7pm or so in Paris, at that time of year, end of August.

So during the night of August 30/31 1997, the moon was nearly empty, down to a tiny sliver, and it was not visible above the horizon during the night, from Paris.

At some point during the night, naturally, the moon crossed the meridian, underneath the earth. If you could see through the earth, the moon at this moment would be at the deepest point of it's nightly journey, literally at the nadir.

When was that?

Exactly?

It was at 20 minutes past midnight. Here below is a screenshot taken from Stellarium (open source free astronomy software). It shows the moon crossing the meridian, below an observer in Paris, on the night of August 30/31 1997, at 00:20:32. At this moment the moon's midline is exactly on the meridian. The time taken for the entire moon to pass over the meridian is a matter of a couple of minutes at most.

Here is the screenshot: looking down, through a "transparent" earth:

Twenty minutes past midnight, is, exactly, when Diana and Dodi left the Ritz. The accident happened just three minutes later at twenty-three minutes after midnight.

The short drive from the Ritz to the crash site at the Pont d'Alma took place with the moon crossing the meridian, at the nadir.

It rose after 5:30am: a tiny sliver in the pre-dawn sky.

The official announcement of the death of Princess Diana is said to have been made by the French government at 6am that morning, but if you watch the clip of the news being relayed

The Flame of Liberty became the unofficial memorial to Diana after the accident, because it happens to mark the location.

What is it, and what, exactly, does it signify?

Quote:
The Flame of Liberty (Flamme de la Liberté) in Paris is a full-sized, gold-leaf-covered replica of the new flame at the upper end of the torch carried in the hand of the Statue of Liberty at the entrance to the harbor of New York City since 1986.[1] The monument, which measures approximately 3.5 metres in height, is a sculpture of a flame, executed in gilded copper, supported by a pedestal of gray-and-black marble. It is located near the northern end of the Pont de l'Alma, on the Place de l'Alma, in the 8th arrondissement of Paris.[2]

It derives from the flame of the torch of the Statue of Liberty. Notice the symmetry here already: France gave the Statue of Liberty to New York, and the USA. Then New York, and the USA, gave back to France a replica of the torch, and it is located at the Avenue de New York in Paris.

So the Flame of Liberty represents whatever the Statue of Liberty represents.

That would be Isis:

Again, from Talisman...

Here is a picture of Frederic Auguste Bartholdi, who designed the Statue of Liberty, and first conceived it as a giant statue of Isis:

Pose is familiar. Can't think where I've seen it.

The ceremony of the laying of the cornerstone of the Statue of Liberty in New York was a big Masonic deal. On the auspicious day, it poured with rain. Bucketed down.

Quote:
It poured rain.

The decorated vessel 'Bay Ridge' carried about a hundred Freemasons, along with some civil officials, to Bedloe's Island. Freemason Richard M. Hunt, the principal architect of the pedestal, handed the working tools to the Masonic officers.

Then Freemason Edward M.,L. Ehlers, Grand Secretary and a member of the Continental Lodge 287, read the list of items to be included in the copper box within the cornerstone: a copy of the United States Constitution; George Washington's Farewell Address; twenty bronze medals of Presidents up through Chester A. Arthur [including Washington, Monroe, Jackson, Polk, Buchanan, Johnson and Garfield, who were all Freemasons]; copies of New York City newspapers; a portrait of Bartholdi; a copy of 'Poem on Liberty' by E. R. Johnes; and a list on parchment of the Grand Lodge officers.

The traditional Masonic ceremony was observed. The cornerstone being found square, level and plumb, the Grand Master applied the mortar and had the stone lowered into place. He then struck the stone three times, and declared it duly laid. Then the elements of "consecration" were presented, corn, wine, and oil.

The "Most Worshipful" Grand Master then spoke a few words. He posed the question: "Why call upon the Masonic Fraternity to lay the cornerstone of such a structure as is here to be erected?" link
The ceremony took place on August 5, 1884.

Quote:
Masonry still retains among its emblems one of a woman weeping over a broken column, holding in her hand a branch of acacia, myrtle, or tamarisk, while Time, we are told, stands behind her combing out the ringlets of her hair. We need not repeat the vapid and trivial explanation... given, of this representation of Isis, weeping at Byblos, over the column torn from the palace of the King, that contained the body of Osiris, while Horus, the God of Time, pours ambrosia on her hair.

Illustrious Albert Pike 33°
Morals and Dogma, page 379. Link here.
The whole business with the Statue of Liberty is an entirely Freemasonic enterprise. Read all about it here. They even celebrated the 100th anniversary of that rainy August 5 when it came around in 1984, with another ceremony:

Quote:
(On August 5, 1984, the Grand Lodge of New York observed the Centenary of the cor- nerstone laying in appropriate ceremonies at Liberty Island, which were attended by Masonic and governmental dignitaries. A bronze plaque commemorating the original event was dedicated and affixed to the pedestal.)
The Statue of Liberty was originally conceived as a statue of Isis by a man photographed with his hand in his coat.

So the Flame of Liberty, installed at the Pont d'Alma in 1989, at the location of the Diana event, which was to take place directly underneath, eight years later, represents:

Isis.

Dumb question. In light of the pin above about the dog, does anyone happen to know what position the star Sirius was in on 9-11-01? was it right between the two towers?
Not a dumb question at all, einherjar. An excellent question, really.

I had commented that Sirius did not rise along the Washington Square Arch axis. This is correct. At the latitude of New York, Sirius rises at about 113°, in the East. The axis of the Arch - WTC points in a southerly direction, actually a little further west, along azimuth 212° approximately.

So, certainly, Sirius did not rise along the axis. But, as einherjar asked, where exactly was Sirius when the 9/11 events took place? I hadn't thought of that! Where was it indeed?

Of course, it was during the day, so that it was not visible, wherever it was. But where was it?

I used Stellarium to locate the position of Sirius in the skies above New York City on the morning of September 11, 2001. To my utter amazement, I have just discovered tonight, that Sirius was passing directly over the World Trade Center Complex, as viewed from the Washington Square Arch, during the period between just after 10am and just before 10.30am.

That is to say, as the South Tower collapsed, at 10am, Sirius began to pass over the WTC complex, and as it completed crossing, the North Tower collapsed.

The exact times are almost besides the point, but it's about 10:18am when Sirius crosses azimuth 212°, and is therefore crossing the line from the midpoint of the Arch to between the Twin Towers. That is the time when Sirius was passing between the Towers!

Here is a crude mash-up I've put together of the scene that morning, using Google Earth 3D imagery for the earth and Stellarium for the sky. This is the view looking south, September 11 2001, at 10:18am, between the collapses of the Two Towers. I have turned off the sun's glare so the stars are visible.

Google Earth is showing the "Freedom Tower" as it is using current imagery. The Two Towers were slightly to the left, as seen from this direction looking south. Sirius can be seen in the sky directly overhead.

They timed the big event of the day, the two collapses of the Twin Towers, to the transit of Sirius over the axis of the Arch.

Then next shock didn't make me spill my coffee because I was prepared for this one. Maybe you are too. How closely have you been following?

If you've gone and watched Part 7 of 9 to see for yourself the scene with the calendar, you may have noticed a very curious reference. Ravic is standing at the bar and he orders a pack of cigarettes, Chesterfields, from memory, but I may have that wrong. He orders them by brand is the point. A busboy then appears at the bar and makes a loud pointed order for another pack of cigarettes, for one of the customers. This time, the brand is:

Osiris cigarettes, with gold-tips.

I had to listen a few times to make sure I was hearing it right. Then I had to watch the previous reel to work out that it was Haake, the Nazi, who ordered the cigarettes from the busboy. He specified them: Osiris cigarettes, with gold tips.

Was there ever any such brand as Osiris cigarettes?

No. There never were any Osiris brand cigarettes, let alone gold-tipped ones. Google it and there's nothing.

Well, that's interesting isn't it. Osiris. Gold tipped. Osiris. Gold tipped.

Wait:

Quote:
The Luxor Obelisk (French: Obélisque de Louxor) is a 23 metres (75 ft) high Egyptian obelisk standing at the center of the Place de la Concorde in Paris,France. It was originally located at the entrance to Luxor Temple, in Egypt.
......
Missing its original pyramidion (believed stolen in the 6th century BC), the government of France added a gold-leafed pyramid cap to the top of the obelisk in 1998.
What, symbolically, does the obelisk represent? It's simple really:

Quote:
"Wherever you see an obelisk, you are looking at a representation of the Egyptian god Osiris's lost penis.|
So, it's a pretty obvious symbolic equation:

Osiris gold-tipped cigarettes = Obelisk of Luxor in Place de la Concorde.

When I sat down to read the book, this was one of the things I was eager to trace. Is the Osiris reference in the book as well?

It certainly is. But it's not a cigarette. It's the name of the brothel where various scenes in the book take place.

What has happened is that in the movie, all explicit references to the brothel subplot have been shifted to just below the surface. It must have been deemed too “delicate” for the sensitivities of the time, or something. So, the 1948 movie slightly re-arranges some of the plot points, to not make the brothel business quite so obvious. In doing so, the movie loses the reference to the Osiris brothel as it appears in the book.

So look what they have done! Rather than lose the reference, they have transmuted it into the “Osiris brand, gold -tipped cigarettes”. It is obvious now that it was critical that this key word, or trigger word, or plot word, be present in the movie. It is also obvious that they transferred the same symbolism. The Osiris brothel has become the Osiris cigarette/obelisk/penis, in other words nothing has really changed.

By the 1985 movie version, times have changed, and the brothel and all of it's plot relevance has been restored to the story. There is even a nice big neon sign over the entrance to the brothel: Osiris.

So this Osiris reference is a key trigger word which is embedded throughout the entire saga: book 1945 , movie 1948 and movie 1985.

From the Luxor Obeliskin the Place de la Concorde, the Champs Elysees stretches away up the slightly rising hill hill towards the Arc de Triomphe.

Next quote:

One of the recurring characters is a doctor, named Charles. Again, this name is changed in the 1948 movie. So that is two references to Charles in the book so far, both changed to other names in the film.

And next, another extraordinary scene. It begins with an exact time: 4am.

This is, of course, the time that Diana's death was pronounced. Four o'clock in the morning.

That really is an incredible thing. The direct association of the character Joan, with 4 oc'clock in the morning, death, and a sea of flowers. In Europe, the chrysanthemum is the flower of mourning.

It's as if all the elements are in place, and all that remains is for Joan to be explicitly identified as Diana.

We are getting closer.

And then it comes. Ravic and Joan are up late talking. And this exchange takes place:

Ravic actually calls Joan: Diana.

Then they decide to go for a holiday to Cannes, or Antibes....
