A must-see attraction on most Egyptian travel itineraries is the Temple of Hathor at Dendera. One of best preserved ancient temple complexes, it is dated to the time of the Middle Kingdom (c. 2055–1650 BC).

Hathor was an important goddess, representing motherhood, love and joy, and her temple is rich with stunning carvings and ornate ceilings.

Ancient Aliens TV expert David Hatcher Childress wrote about his visit to the temple in his book, Lost Cities Of Africa & Arabia. He described seeing stone carvings that looked amazingly like electric light bulbs!

The Electic Lights of Dendera

Childress’s research uncovered a report by the scientist Ivan T. Sanderson, who believed the incised petroglyph showed attendants holding electric lamps connected to electrical generating devices. Sanderson went on to speculate that the Egyptians even had the scientific knowledge of electroplating.

But did they have electric lights? If not, how were ancient Egyptian workers able to see deep underground, as there are no traces of the smoke or soot that would have been left by burning torches.

Follow the Nile about 100 kilometers west from Dendera, and you will arrive at Adydos, one of the oldest of all Egyptian cities.

Deep inside the Temple of Seti I is an astonishing panel of hieroglyphs. They were discovered accidentally, when a stone panel fell off a wall. What was revealed are images that look very much like high-tech 20th century inventions: a helicopter, an airplane and another even more futuristic-looking flying machine.

How could such modern-looking images have been created 3,000 years ago? Did the pharaohs possess the ability to travel forward in time?
