La Historia Iniciática del Rey Serpiente Maya, y el año 2012
Hace milenos en el Antiguo México Maya circuló una narración Iniciática que relataba la Historia el Rey Can (Serpiente), fundador de una dinastía de Iniciados en los Augustos Misterios, esta historia fue relatada miles y miles de veces entre los palacios de Chichén Itza y de Uxmal, este Rey procreó tres hijos, cuyos nombres eran: Cay (pez), Aac (Tortuga) y Coh (Jaguar) y creó del costado de sus propios hijos dos hijas: Moo (Guacamaya) y Nicté (Flor).
Fue obligatorio entre los antiguos mayas que el más joven de los hermanos debía de contraer matrimonio con su hermana mayor, para asegurar la legítima y divina descendencia de la familia real del Rey Serpiente llamado Can.
El príncipe Coh fue un valiente y afortunado guerrero, y estuvo al frente de los ejércitos, a quienes había llevado muchas veces a la victoria, conquisto numerosas naciones y aumentó considerablemente la extensión del imperio Maya. Como era el más joven de los hijos del Rey Serpiente Can, hubo que casarlo con su hermana mayor Moo, quien por su parte le amaba y a la vez sentía envanecida de sus hazañas.
Cuando el Rey Serpiente Can, murió, el reino fue dividido entre sus hijos, Moo llegó a ser la reina de Chichén-itza, sus pobladores le juraron lealtad. Esta reina llegó a alcanzar los más altos niveles dentro de la Orden de la Serpiente, y al morir recibió honores apoteósicos y para ella fue elegida una pirámide; la nombraron diosa del fuego, y fue adorada como la descendiente de las serpientes luminosas, en la cubre de la pirámide se instaló un altar en su honor, esta pirámide está en la ciudad Itzmal (rocío del cielo).
Aac, el segundo hijo del Rey Serpiente Can, también amó a Moo. Este príncipe era el señor de Uxmal, en esta ciudad aun se pueden observar tortugas de piedra. Aac era lo que diríamos un hombre religioso y dogmatico, era de vida pacífica y sedentaria. Los dioses Vucub-Camé y Hun-Camé del inframundo Xibalbá construyeron alrededor de la ciudad murallas para que jamás Aac el Religioso se uniera a su hermana Moo Esotérica y procrearan hijos monstruos.
Aac sentía envidia por la fama de su hermano, y celos de que el pueblo le amara, y que su hermosa hermana adorara a Coh. Aac dejándose llevar de sus malas pasiones, conspiró, contra sus hermanos, asesinar a Coh, y de obtener a la fuerza a su hermana Moo, y así ideó derribar las murallas que había entre ellos, así adueñarse de ella y tomar las riendas del gobierno Maya y de ser dueño de los secretos conocimientos mágicos que su padre el Rey Serpiente había confiado a su hija Moo.
En ahora olvidados relatos mayas se describe el asesinato de Coh: Aac lleno de ira, con tres lanzas en la mano asesina a Coh por la espalda, siendo herido tres veces con las lanzas.
El Códice Maya Troano existente hoy en Madrid ha registrado e ilustrado este hecho en la primera sección de la lámina XIV correspondiente a la segunda parte de la obra, al describir el homicidio y sus consecuencias. El códice explica que corazón de Coh fue embalsamado y puesto en una urna.
Al morir Coh el Principie iniciado en los Antiguos Misterios se encendió una guerra civil en el Reino Maya, pues Aac había reunido un grupo de conspiradores que le apoyarían a instalar en el Reino maya la Religión con sus dogmas, y así Aac aspiro a adueñarse de las riendas del gobierno, y por otra, los partidarios de Coh luchaban para vengar la muerte de su héroe y defender a su reina y su estilo de vida iniciática; tal como lo había enseñado el Rey Serpiente llamado Can, la Religión de Aac era en todo el sentido de la palabra una deformación total de las enseñanzas Augustas de su Padre el Rey Serpiente Can.
La caprichosa diosa de la fortuna unas veces favorecía a los partidarios de Coh y otras a los religiosos dogmaticos partidarios de Aac. Aac entonces al ver que las cosas marchaban en su contra recurrió a la diplomacia para que su idea triunfara. Renovó la petición de la mando de su Hermana Moo, a quien envió mensajeros con presentes de oro, de jade y pieles finas ya que su hermana era viuda. La escena está descrita de modo vivo en bajo relieves dek reino maya.
Moo recibe la comitiva diplomática de su hermano Aac pero ella se burla del amor de su hermano, a quien ve en un plano inferior junto con sus ideas deformadas. En el bajo relieve se observa que el príncipe Aac tiene un tocado simbolizando una serpiente, cuyo nombre se lee la palabra Can, esta serpiente mira a una guacamaya posada sobre un árbol. El árbol se halla resguardado por un mono con actitud amenazadora, y es el protector de la Reina Moo, símbolo el árbol de la sabiduría.
La escena nos recuerda a Eva tentada por la Serpiente en el árbol del jardín del Edén. En la historia Maya Moo se negó repetidas veces a aceptar los amores de Aac, y en consecuencia la guerra continuó. Moo terminó por sucumbir los deseos sexuales de Aac, mediante una artimaña en la cual ella comería ciertos frutos que la harían caer en una somnolencia y en un deseo sexual incontrolable, de esa unión nacieron durmientes seres de carne y huesos, que terminarían siendo vencidos en diciembre del año 2012, para dar paso a nuevos seres semejantes a los seres serpientes luminosas de antaño.
Así la historia de Moo que cayó en manos del religioso Aac, quien la maltrató, obligándola a escapar, se vengó del sacerdote Cay por pretender ayudar a Moo, y para conmemorar su victoria, Aac hizo colocar una estatua en Uxmal – estatua cuyos pies profanan los cadáveres de sus parientes serpientes muertos.
Cuando todo esto transcurría unos pocos fieles a la tradición del Rey Serpiente Can crearon una fraternidad que resguardarían las enseñanzas secretas de Can a través de las edades, sin que estas se deformaran, y es así sus enseñanzas nos llegan hasta el día de hoy.

Este año se cumple el 25 aniversario del lanzamiento del telescopio espacial Hubble. Desde 1990, el Hubble ha dado lugar a más de 9.000 publicaciones en las mejores revistas científicas internacionales y nos ha ofrecido innumerables imágenes de altísimo impacto astrofísico. Todas las imágenes captadas por este telescopio tienen una gran belleza pero, posiblemente, la que más nos asombró de todas ellas, la que dio la vuelta al mundo y pasó a ser un auténtico icono de la astronomía contemporánea, fue la obtenida en 1995 de los conocidos 'pilares de la creación'. Esta asombrosa imagen plasma unas nubes interestelares de gas y polvo en la Nebulosa del Águila (Messier 16) donde están naciendo nuevas estrellas. Desde su puesta en órbita, el Hubble ha sido mejorado considerablemente. En cinco ocasiones los transbordadores espaciales de NASA han transportado a equipos de astronautas que han visitado el telescopio para su mantenimiento y mejora. En la primera de estas misiones, llevada a cabo en 1993, se corrigió un problema de construcción en su espejo y, tanto en ésta como en las siguientes, se ha venido equipando al telescopio con nuevos detectores progresivamente más potentes y de mayor sensibilidad. En la última de estas misiones de servicio, llevada a cabo en mayo de 2009, se instaló una cámara de gran campo (Wide Field Camera 3), su instrumento más avanzado para obtener imágenes en luz visible.
Ahora, veinte años después de la obtención de la primera imagen de los 'pilares de la creación', el Hubble, equipado con sus más modernos y más potentes instrumentos, ha vuelto a observar esta fascinante región del cielo. Además de una renovada belleza, la nueva imagen contiene información inédita de gran relevancia científica.
Visible e infrarrojo
Las nuevas imágenes han sido obtenidas tanto en el visible como en el infrarrojo cercano (en longitudes de onda de 1,1 y 1,6 micras). La imagen visible que encabeza este artículo es una composición de tres fotografías individuales, tomadas con filtros estrechos, que han sido codificadas con diferentes colores para revelar la composición química de las nubes.

El color azul representa la radiación del oxígeno doblemente ionizado, el verde la del hidrógeno ionizado, y el anaranjado la de los iones de azufre. Dado que las energías de los fotones, que son necesarios para crear estos iones son muy diferentes, las diferencias en color reflejan tanto diferencias en la composición y estructura de las nubes, como variaciones en la radiación ambiente que domina la zona. Por ejemplo, para arrancar los dos electrones externos de un átomo de oxígeno es precisa luz ultravioleta. Así pues, el hecho de que las nubes estén embebidas en el color azul del oxigeno ionizado refleja, a su vez, que la radiación ultravioleta impera en esa zona. Esta radiación ultravioleta, que procede de estrellas muy energéticas del entorno, ioniza y disocia el gas de las nubes interestelares y va esculpiéndolas con esas peculiares formas de columnas, erosionando las regiones menos densas en escalas de tiempo que se aproximan a un millón de años.
Las nubes interestelares son opacas en el visible; pero son parcialmente transparentes en el infrarrojo cercano, y en estas longitudes de onda dejan pasar con mayor facilidad la luz procedente de las estrellas que están situadas tras ellas. Por eso en el infrarrojo las nubes adquieren un aspecto un tanto fantasmagórico, pues tan solo las regiones más densas apantallan la radiación creando unas siluetas a través de las que traslucen las estrellas de fondo. Estas siluetas nos revelan por tanto la estructura interna de los pilares con mayor detalle que las imágenes visibles. Vemos que las zonas más densas se encuentran en los extremos superiores de los pilares, regiones que pueden llegar a auto-apantallarse y protegerse frente a la radiación ambiente. En esas zonas, la densidad es suficientemente alta como para que las masas de gas más internas, bien protegidas, sucumban al efecto de colapso gravitatorio dando lugar a núcleos progresivamente más densos y, finalmente, a estrellas nuevas.
Las estrellas nuevas, aún embebidas en el interior de las zonas más densas de los pilares, no son visibles en las imágenes ópticas, pero pueden ser detectadas en las imágenes infrarrojas. Se han contado más de 60 núcleos densos, pero tan solo media docena de éstos contienen estrellas nuevas en su seno. Los otros núcleos densos todavía continúan en el proceso de colapso y llegarán a formar estrellas o no, dependiendo de quién gane la carrera entre el desplome gravitatorio y la erosión producida por los ultravioletas.

Una comparación minuciosa de las nuevas imágenes con las antiguas revela algunos cambios. Por ejemplo, las estrellas nuevas arrojan chorros de gas al espacio, y el movimiento de estas eyecciones puede ser medido ahora de manera directa con gran precisión. Además, las nuevas imágenes son mucho más profundas y también permiten estudiar el borde de las nubes con muy alto detalle. Se observa así que este borde es extremadamente abrupto. Los pilares tienen dimensiones de unos 5 años luz, pero su densidad decrece en el borde desde su valor máximo a cero en una región de tan solo 0,001 año luz de espesor, una muestra más del efecto destructivo de la radiación ambiente.
Auto-regulación
En las nubes interestelares de nuestra Vía Láctea abundan las regiones similares a estos pilares de la creación, donde la radiación de una generación de estrellas ilumina y erosiona las nubes del entorno. La interacción de esta radiación con esas grandes masas de gas y polvo es muy compleja, pues varios mecanismos físicos se superponen: algunos contribuyen y otros tratan de impedir la formación de una generación siguiente de estrellas. De esta manera, la formación estelar va auto-regulándose, y la conversión de masa nebular a masa estelar va dosificándose a lo largo del tiempo de evolución de la Galaxia, permitiendo que los nacimientos estelares hayan perdurado desde instantes próximos al Big Bang hasta nuestros días, y que sean aún posibles durante un largo periodo de tiempo en la evolución futura del Universo.

- El Hubble fue lanzado el 24 de abril de 1990 desde el centro espacial Kennedy, cerca de Cabo Cañaveral, en Florida. Está emplazado en una órbita casi circular a 559 kilómetros de altura que tiene un periodo de unos 96 minutos. El Hubble da por tanto 15 vueltas completas a la Tierra cada día.
- El espejo principal del Hubble tiene 2,5 metros de diámetro, una dimensión modesta comparada con las de los mayores telescopios instalados en tierra que alcanzan los 10 metros.
- El que está llamado a ser sucesor del Hubble, el telescopio JWST (James Webb Space Telescope), tiene un espejo primario de 6,5 metros y está especializado en observaciones visibles e infrarrojas. Su lanzamiento está actualmente previsto para finales del año 2018.
