A group of men and women of Latin American origin assembled in Prasanthi, as a united group, and sought Divine blessings to sing HIS glory in HIS immediate presence. In a programme held on the 23rd July evening, entitled VAMOS CON SAI, a Latin American choir, twelve countries from the region, namely, Argentina, Brazil, Mexico, El Salvador, Columbia, Ecuador, Haiti, Uruguay, Peru, Venezuala, Chile and Guadeloupe participated making their presence in His immediate Divine Presence. The group had regular practice sessions in Prasanthi for almost a fortnight in their run upto the scheduled programme.
Starting with three Omkars followed by Ganesh Prarthana, the Choristers soon switched over to Latin American tongue singing an array of songs in various 'regional' languages. Songs sounded 'Greek and Latin' for the general devotees, still, it was their pure devotion poured forth in a united voice that lit the twilight with some infectious tunes brining great joy unto thousands and thousands. A group of men accompanied the choristers with violin, guitar, tablas and tambourines producing harmonious tunes airing greater devotion to the Lord in physical, who sat through the session. Women in the group, numbering over sixty, wore traditional national colours making it a unique offering to Bhagawan.
Earlier, before the commencement of the programme regional heads along with co-ordinators offered Bhagawan’s initial blessing. As per Bhagawan’s instructions, an announcement was made on the programme, listing out the names of the participating countries.
The fifty minute programme ended at 1920 hrs., upon which Bhagawan accepted Mangala Arathi. Asking for an encore of " Samastha Lokaaha..." Bhagawan sat for some more time watching the prasadam distribution before moving off the dais to retire for the day at 1930 hrs.
It was Latin American Love for The Lord that rung in the air all through on the blessed evening in Prasanthi!
Earlier, while gliding past the students' block, Bhagawan blessed a group of boys from Sri Sathya Sai Junior Hostel, who sought His blessings with a replica of the hostel building, being the 15th anniversay of the New Hostel Building that was inaugurated on the same day in 1996.
