INDIAN CRICKETERS PRAY FOR CRICKET WORLD CUP`2011 @ SHIRDI

Before the start of the ICC Cricket World Cup`2011,
Cricketer V.V.S Laxman who is an ardent devotee of Sai Baba went to Shirdi on Sunday 13th Feb`2011 with his kids.
He prayed for the success of the Indian Cricket Team in the upcoming World Cup'2011 Series.
Also present with him were a few more Indian cricketers.

A Replica of the Cricket World Cup`2011 Trophy was offered to Sai Baba in Shirdi by cricket fans for Team India's win at the finals.
To strengthen their hopes with the power of prayers,
cricket enthusiasts offered puja at and extended their best wishes to the Indian team.

Yet again it was a Festive Time @ Shirdi,
as India became the Cricket World Champions after finally winning the World Cup`2011 after a gap of 28 years.
Carrying the Indian Flag, devotees danced to the beats of drums shouting "Sai Baba Ki Jay" all along
as they moved from the Sai Temple into the streets around.

- SURESH RAINA PAYS OBEISANCE TO SAI BABA @ SHIRDI
AFTER INDIA'S VICTORY IN THE CRICKET WORLD CUP`2011 -

After the Cricket World Cup got over,
Sai Devotee & the member of the Indian World Cup team Suresh Raina on Monday visited the Sai Baba Temple @ Shirdi,
to pay obeisance to Shri Sai Baba at the Samadhi Mandir.
Raina arrived in the afternoon in a helicopter that landed near the new Prasadalaya.
He stayed at the Shrine for nearly an hour and performed the Paduka Puja and Arati of Baba.

Raina who is a staunch Sai devotee had come before the World cup began.
He said ”I had prayed that if we do well in the World Cup, I would come to thank and offer prayer at Shirdi.
So I am here. I am happy that we won and there is such great celebration in the country,”

As Blessings, Suresh Raina was given a Gold Coin with Sai Baba embossed on it, a Coconut, a Shawl
and a Sai Baba's Statue by the Shirdi Sai Sansthan.

- Shirdi Temple Trust to
honour Sachin Tendulkar with a Sai Ratna -

In a first-of-its-kind initiative, the Shri Sai Baba Sansthan Trust will
confer an award on Sachin Tendulkar to commemorate the cricketing legend's outstanding achievements.
The residents of Shirdi village wanted the Shirdi Temple Trust to honour Sachin in a special way.
Hence the Sai Temple Trust decided to initiate the 'Sai Ratna' award
and Sachin will be the first one to be awarded this honour.

The Temple Trust has also decided to invite all the members of the winning Indian Team and
present them all Gold coins with Sai Baba embossed on them.
The date for the award presentation function is still to be decided.
