- GURUPOURNIMA CELEBRATIONS`2011 -

Guru Pournima Festival was observed in Shirdi on Friday 15th July`2011.
Celebrations to mark this event were held for 3 whole days, from 14th to 16th July`2011,
during which over 2.5 lakh Pilgrims visited the Sai Baba Temple @ Shirdi.
Thousands of Devotees from various districts of Maharashtra, walked their way chanting & dancing,
carrying Baba's Palki to reach Shirdi on Gurupournima day itself.

In the wake of the recent Mumbai Blasts,
the security in & around the Temple area had been beefed up by the Sansthan and Shirdi's local police.
Devotees were being checked thoroughly and no cellphones were allowed inside the Temple premises.
Sai Baba's Samadhi Shrine was kept open the whole night for devotees to have Darshan.
