“I will not lie anymore, no more…”

“I will not lie anymore, no more…”

Thursday, March 29th, 2012
When Bhagawan touches someone’s heart, He touches him/her in the core of the heart, bringing in a complete transformation. Anthony, a little lad from Faenza, Italy had ‘met’ Him in an image, and then he was transformed. Read on a most inspiring tale of transformation, done in unique Sri Sathya Sai style. Republished from Sai Spiritual Showers archivals…
A new student joined the Bal Vikas class. His name was Anthony. He was 13 years old. He probably came to Swami just in time.
Anthony was coming from the wrong side of society. It was the same story: the father had left the family, the mother did not have much resources and he also had other small brothers.
It was not easy to be poor and disadvantaged in a welfare nation.
So Anthony found a way to survive: telling lies. He was saying that his mother owned a good flower shop and that his father was a fireman. These were small lies, they were his dreams. He wanted to be a fireman when he had grown up. He wanted very badly to be respected, loved, to enjoy all the big gifts that life is giving when you walk in Dharma.
As no one taught Anthony how to get these gifts, he imagined he had them. One day there was a fire in the classroom. Some kid set fire to the rubbish. The teacher called him: “Anthony, as you know everything about the fire brigade, how does the fire extinguisher work?” Now, everybody was looking at that small boy wearing dresses not very clean.
Anthony felt inside a big determination. With a punch he broke the glass case, took out the extinguisher and in two seconds he extinguished the fire.
That little success helped Anthony to change his life. He got a little more confidence in himself, so the other kids loved him more.
One of his friends was Francis. One day Francis took Anthony to the Bal Vikas class and you can imagine what happened. Anthony asked: “Who is that man dressed in orange, with all that hair?”
Francis: “He is Sathya Sai!”
“What does it mean?” Anthony asked.
Francis answered: “Truth.”
The two boys looked at each other in their eyes. One minute of silence followed and then Anthony said: “I don’t want to lie anymore, I will not lie anymore, no more.”
When Anthony found the love of our beloved Master then he found himself.

Subsidised Power Tariff Scheme reinstated
Prashantinilayam,29th March 2012
The Government had issued a notification on 21.01.2012 that theconcessional tariff granted to the Superspecialty Hospital at Prashantigram would be withdrawn forthwith and and directed that henceforththe normal tariff be applied to the Institute w.e.f January 2009
We wrote to the Government pointing out that:

(a) The circumstances under which the concessional tariff was granted remain the same.
(b) The scope of medical servicesoffered by the hospital has increased since 1993.
(c)This is the only super-specialityhospital in Anantapur District that gives tertiary care to the poor and needy.
(d) In comparable circumstances, theGovernment of Karnataka has granted a special subsidy to Sri Sathya SaiInstitute of Higher Medical Sciences, Whitefield, Bengaluru and Sri Sathya SaiGeneral Hospital, Whitefield, Bengaluru.

We are pleased to report that on the basis of this representation the Govt of Andhra Pradesh has issued an order vide G.O .Rt.No .42 that the notification referred above be kept in abeyance.

This would mean that the susidised Power tarifff enjoyed earlier by the Superspecialty Hospital at Prashantigram would continue.

Namasmarana: Constant remembrance of God by repetition of His Name is itself meditation. Meditation stills the wandering mind. When the mind becomes still the veil between you and the Reality is removed, and you know that you are the Reality. Continuous remembrance is possible only when your devotion is intense. Repeat the Name, constantly, it will take hold of you and at certain stage it will possess you. Then you cannot forget the Name even if you try to. The body will become Divine. All this is achieved by the "Little Name" Ram. It is no more the ordinary human body. It becomes a holy body. The place on which he treads becomes sanctified.
A Test of Love: When temptations raise it’s hood threatening to engulf you, when old habits refuse to die, what will you do? Temptations may come bouncing back, but hold on exercising your will power to kill the old habits that die hard and at the end you are set free writes, echoes Doughs from New York narrating how he got rid of an old habit rooting the same out with sheer will power, owing to Bhagawan’s grace. Extracted from Sanathana Sarathi, July 1981.
I was introduced to marijuana at the age of twelve. While this may seem quite young it is very common in America.
I came to know about Sri Sathya Sai Baba four years later at the age of sixteen. I loved Him with all my heart and before long my heart began to make it clear that this love and my drug habit could not mix.
I tried again and again to give up smoking. Again and again, I failed. In this way I went through much guilt and pain. Still I was determined. I prayed constantly to Baba for help and never gave up the fight.
Shortly after my nineteenth birthday I was sitting up in my sister's apartment. She had gone to bed and I was wide-awake. Having just drunk two cups of coffee I knew I would be up for several hours.
I had been smoking less and less and was determined to give it up altogether. I had made the vow and now came the test.
On the table in front of me was a pipe and a large bag of marijuana. My mind began tempting. "Go ahead, you haven't smoked for a long time," it said. But I said, "No!" and prayed to Baba for strength. "Baba," I said, "I do this for You."
I went through over three hours of torture as my mind tempted and I resisted. I tried to escape in sleep but the coffee kept me awake. There was nothing I could do but endure the suffering of this mental battle.
Finally, exhausted, I drifted off to sleep and in sleep I learned that through pain I had proven my devotion to God. As I lay slumbering I was rewarded with a most wonderful dream.
All pain and exhaustion vanished as Baba came to me and said, "Thank you for loving Me."

News Update from Dharmakshetra - March 2012
Please click the link below to see the pictures of the concluding day (Bhog ceremony) of the Guru ka Paath at Dharmakshetra on 25th March 2012-03-25

Cheti Chand the Sindhi New year was celebrated in true “Sarva Dharma” style at Dharmakshetra, the abode of Bhagawan in Mumbai and also the abode of ‘All Religions” For over 48 hours the ‘Akhand Paath Saheb” took place at Dharmakshetra in which the reading of the holy book 'Guru Granth Saheb' took place from Friday, March 23rd to Sunday, March 25th 2012

Akhand Paath Saheb is non stop reading of the holy book in Gurmukhi language by many Paathi's (readers) who read in shifts of 3 hours. On the day of Cheti Chand, Saturday, March 24th 2012devotional songs were sung in Sindhi and the gathered devotees got a chance of listening to the Lord’s glory in a new language & style! Before the Bhog ceremony ( Purnaahuti ) on Sunday, March 25th 2012, the bhajan Singers got everyone in bliss by singing with Guru & Sarva Dharma bhajans. At the completion of the reading of the holy book, a prayer called as 'Anandsaheb and Ardaas' took place followed by Guru Aarti & Sai Aarti. Karava prasad was distributed to all those present in the hall.

The 'Vaani or Vachhan' which was read after the aarti had the following deep significance

"We All devotees have only one craving. ie Pure love for God. We get pure bliss only out of your Darshan. Day and night, our eyes are longing only to have your darshan. We don't have any wishes and desire except to have your darshan. As like the fish cannot stay without water, we all devotees cannot stay without your grace. We pray earnestly to be with us at all the times and shower your Grace and Blessings on All of us."

Although it was a hot and sunny Sunday, many devotees thronged to Dharamkshetra to witness this holy event. The Trustees, Trust members and other members of the Organisation alongwith the Chief Guest Mr Bindra participated in this session to express their love for our Divine Master Bhagwan Sri Sathya Sai Baba.

Priti bhoj (Prasadam) had the real essence of sweetness wherein all the devotees relished it. However, the assembled gathering were later treated to the real prasadam as the doors of our Beloved Sai's residence was kept open for all the devotees to have Darshan and soak in the positive vibrations from the Divine room.

When the Holy Book Granth Saheb was taken to the residence (room) of our beloved Sai in Sathya Deep it really signified that "All Religions are One"
