Samadhi Mandir
Samadhi Mandir
Samadhi Mandir of Shri Sai Baba was actually owned
by a millionaire from Nagpur, a famous Sai devotee Shreemant
Gopalrao. Gopalrao wanted to keep an idol of Murlidhar here.
However, Baba himself became Murlidhar and the Mandir
became the Samadhi Mandir of Baba.

The Mandir is built with stones and Baba's Samadhi is
built with white marble stones. A railing is built in marble around the
Samadhi and is full of ornamental decorations. In front of the
Samadhi are two silver pillars full of decorative designs.
Just behind the Samadhi is Sai Baba's marvelous statue made
of Italian marble which shows him seated on a throne.
This idol was made by late Balaji Vasant..

We had heard about kakkar aarti performed early in the morning. So we started from the town at around 2:30 am so as not to miss it. Having reached the temple, it was interesting to watch the mad rush to make it to the aarti. This early morning aarti involves the invocation of Shri Sai Baba followed by his ablution and wrapping of clothes. It starts at around 4:30 am and lasts for about 45 minutes. You make your way through the serpentine queues for the main hall where it is held.
It's a delight to watch people — old and young — hurry along those narrow isles to be part of the congregation. And when the aarti starts, you feel as if you have just experienced one of the most beautiful things in your life
Samadhi Mandir
. The capacity of the hall is close to 2,000 people and the flock left out, have to content with viewing the aarti on CCTVs 'coming live'. Despite few aartis being recited in Marathi, doing it in unison made the experience really memorable.

Sai Baba first came to Shridhi in the form of
Bal Yogi - a child ascetic. He was first spotted seated under
a Neem tree. This place came to be known as
Gurusthan. The renovation of Gurusthan was made on
30th September, 1941. The present temple was built after this period.
There is a small shrine in Gurusthan. On a elevated platform
of this shrine a big portrait of Baba is placed.
On the side is a marble statue of Baba.
In front of the portrait is a Shivling and the Nandi.
Photos of twelve Jyotirlingas are kept in the temple.
The branches of the Neem tree have come out through the roof of the temple

The 15th October 1918 was a sorrowful and fateful day for the little village of Shirdi,
for in the heavy hours of the noon, the beloved master suddenly breathed his last.
Quietly and unobrusively, Baba gave up his body and let his head fall gently on t
he shoulders of a near disciple. The great "Avtar's" glorious period of Messiahship,
his self allotted labour of love, came to an abrupt end.
All the magic light seemed to have died out that erestwhile had given to thousands
of seekers courage and hope and inspiration. In a moment all the chambers of the
ashram seemed emptied of delight and a strange desolation filled each heart.
But not for long......for, resurrection ever keeps pace with and outlives the forces
of death and destruction. The great Avtar of Love and Compassion gave up his
body so that his spirit may be ressurected in the hearts of thousands of his ever-growing bhaktas.

Shirdi wale Sai Baba

Samadhi-Mandir
Construction of the Samadhi-Mandir
Baba never talked, nor ever made any fuss about the things which He wanted to accomplish, but He so skillfully arranged the circumstances and surroundings that the people were surprised at the slow but sure results attained. The construction of the Samadhi-mandir is an instance in point. Shriman Bapusaheb Booty, the famous multi-millionaire of Nagpur lived in Shirdi whith his family. Once an idea arose in his mind that he should have a building of his own there. Sometimes after this, while he was sleeping in Dixit's Wada, he got a vision. Bava appeared in his dream and ordered him to build a Wada of his own with temple. Shama who was sleeping there, got also a similar vision. When Bapusaheb was awakened, he saw Shama crying and asked him why.

The latter replied that in his vision Baba came close to him and ordered distinctly - "Build the Wada with the temple. I shall fulfill the desires of all. Hearing the sweet and loving words of Baba, I was overpowered with emotion, my throat was choked, my eyes were overflowing with tears, and I began to cry." Bapusaheb was surprised to see that both their visions tallied. Being a rich and capable man, he decided to build a Wada there and drew up a plan with Madhavarao (Shama). Kakasaheb Dixit also approved of it. And when it was placed before Baba, He also sanctioned it immediately. Then the construction- work was duly started and under the supervision of Shama, the ground floor, the cellar and the well were completed. Baba also on his way to and from Lendi suggested certain improvements. Further work was entrusted to Bapusaheb Jog and when it was going on, an idea struck Bapusaheb Booty's mind that there should be an open room or platform and in the centre the image of Murlidhar (Lord Krishna with the flute) be installed. He asked Shama to refer this matter to Baba and get His consent. The latter asked Baba about this when He was just passing by the Wada.

Hearing Shama, Baba gave His consent saying, "after the temple is complete I will come there to stay" and staring at the Wada He added - "after the Wada is complete, we shall use it ourselves, we shall live, move and play there, embrace each other, and be very happy." Then Shama asked Baba whether this was the auspicious time to begin the foundation-work of the central room of the Shrine. The latter answered in the affirmative. Shama got a coconut broke it and started the work. In due time the work was completed and an order was also given for making a good image of Murlidhar. But before it was ready, a new thing turned up. Baba became seriously ill and was about to pass away. Bapusaheb became very sad and dejected, thinking that if Baba passed away, his Wada would not be consecrated by the holy touch of Baba's Feet, and all his money (about a lakh of rupees) would be wasted away. But the words "Place or keep Me in the Wada" which came out of Baba's mouth just before His passing away, consoled not only Bapusaheb, but one and all. In due time Baba's holy body was placed and preserved in the central shrine meant or designed for Murlidhar and Baba Himself became Murlidhar and the Wada thus became the Samadhi-mandir of Sai Baba. His wonderful life is unfathomable.
Blessed and fortunate is Bapusaheb Booty in whose Wada lies the holy and the pure body of Baba

The routine of the temple starts at 5 o'clock in the
morning with Bhoopali, a morning song, and closes
at 10 o'clock in the night after Shejarati is sung.
Only on three occasions the temple is kept open
overnight .ie. on Gurupoornima, Dassera, and Ramnavami.
Every Thursday and on each festival,
a Palakhi with Baba's photo is taken out from the temple.

Baba's CHAVADI
Baba's CHAVADI
At a short distance lies Baba's CHAVADI.
Baba used to sleep here every alternate day.
The Chavadi is divided into two parts.
One part of the Chavadi has a large portrait
of Baba along with a wooden bed and a
white chair belonging to him.

Baba's Chawadi
Baba's Chawadi
Baba, along with his nearest followers, used to stay here at every
alternate nights. Because of this reason, this place has achieved a great importance.
Every Thursday the Palakhi from DwarkaMai arrives here.
Baba's Photograph, his Paduka (slippers), and Satka are kept in the Palakhi.
The chair, on which Baba used to rest, and the bed, on which Baba had his
last bath, are also kept in this temple.

Dwarkamai
Shri Sai Baba came to Shridhi with a marriage procession. He stayed at
Dwarkamai till the very end of his life. Dwarkamai is situated on the right side of the
entrance of Samadhi Mandir. Here he solved problems of the people, cured their
sickness and worries. Before Baba's arrival in Shridhi, Dwarkamai was an old
mosque in a dilapidated condition. Baba turned it into Dwarkamai and proved that God is one.

Sai Baba was very fond of lights. He used to borrow oil from shop-keepers, and keep
lamps burning the whole night in the Masjid and temple. This went on for some time.
The Banias, who supplied oil gratis, once met together and decided not to give Him oil.
When, as usual, Baba went to ask for oil, they all gave Him a distinct No. Unperturbed,
Baba returned to the Masjid and kept the dry wicks in the lamps.
The banias were watching Him with curiosity. Baba took the Tumrel
(tin pot) which contained very little (a few drops) of oil, put water into it and drank it and forced
it fall in the container. After consecrating the tin-pot in this way,
He again took water in the tin-pot and filled all the lamps with it and lighted them.
To the surprise and dismay of the watching Banias, the lamps began to burn and
kept burning the whole night. The Banias repented and apologized.
Baba forgave them and asked them to be more truthful in future.

'Udi' is the ash that drops from the holy fire kindled by baba a hundred years ago.
The great master was wont to use this ash for healing the sick, thus investing the
'udi' with great power by his gesture. Even now the sick and the unhappy
alike are healed if they take this divine medicine with faith

Another stronghold of the tobacco industry - the UK - is in no hurry to give up quickly. Since this year, there has also been a ban on smoking in bars and restaurants, but only those that are not equipped with a special ventilation system and powerful hoods. After that they proposed to review cheap cigarettes from the uk without intermediaries.
In total, since 2022, a ban on smoking in restaurants has come into force in 29 states, and in bars in 25 US states. In addition, 12 more states, including major states like Florida, Michigan and Arkansas, have mandated cigarette manufacturers to make their products less flammable this year. Thus, now only the state of Wyoming does not have such a law.
American roads should also become much safer starting this year. This, according to lawmakers, can happen due to the ban on sending and reading text messages on a mobile phone while driving. Similar laws have gone into effect in New Hampshire, Oregon and Illinois, adding to the list of 16 states where the ban came into effect earlier.
