Jossie, you wanted to know how to create a message with a graphic on one side and a message on the other side. It`s basically a two-cell table.
I will put the table code into a box below so that you can copy it. You can drag the bottom-right corner of the box to the right and down to see the code. Just click inside the box and ctrl+a to select all, then ctrl+c to copy.
I have set the background color of the table to white. And I`ve added padding settings for the cell with my message (25=top 15=right 15=bottom 0=left). If you wanted to center that cell, you would add align=center.
If you have any other questions, don`t hesitate to ask.

This is so new to me I'm not sure what I'm doing but I'm trying it out. I like how you can see the box in the reply box that makes it easier. I thought that in this side of the box that the writing would start at the top but it starts in the middle of this side of the box. I will have to wait until I post to see it I have done this correctly. Practice makes perfect so I will use this tread to play with if that's ok.
Hugs,

If you want the graphic or text to begin at the top of the cell, I think you can add valign=top in the td.

Oops, I forgot to answer you. YES, please practice all you want. I`d be happy to help with anything you might need. I`ve learned a few new things myself.

I'm not very good at coding... could you show me where to put "align=center". will that center the entire box or each cell? could you post code for Centering box -- and each individual cell?
also could you post the whole code for graphic of test to begin at the top of cell?
I would also like to know if there is a way to color the box outline? not just the inside. If there is a way could you add that type of code?
Just to mention:
I had to run over to Whoopies to find that set of tags -- I didn't remember seeing it. Very cute,
now I have them saved.
also I have to say that your Timber Tag is great. I love it. It looks like candy.
Have a great day.
hugs, Jossie |

Hi, Jossie... It`s hard to have a discussion about HTML and CSS within these messages. Instead of being able to view the code, it gets "rendered". I was able to show you a little bit of code by adding it side a box but even that code was altered from the original.
I am going to create a text document for you with the code that you`re asking for and in that text document I can describe items for you. I`ll post a note back here when I have it uploaded here at the group, so you can have a look.
I`ve been looking through Whoopie`s old extras and have found quite a bit of good ones to play with. I love her work. And my tag above in my previous post is my ribbon candy text. I wrote a tutorial for it (it`s listed in the menu). I`ll make one for you and throw it into your siggie stash that I will be emailing to you.

I have uploaded the text document HERE. I have not addressed the borders as I need to know where you want the border(s).
Do you want a border around the entire table only? Do you want a border around the table and a border around each cell? Do you want a border around the table and a border around the right-side cell? Do you want a border around the cells only?
Let me know if you have any other adjustments. |
