Curly Whirly
This challenge is part of a new series of old school challenges called Tube Background Challenge. For these challenges you only need a tube, some filters and a font. This awesomely easy tutorial was written by Vix and uses no outside filters!
For the Antique Mosaic step I used 40 for columns/rows. For the Curlicue layers I used 9, 10, and 11 for columns/rows. For my text I used FairydustB Font. The fill was created with Mura's Meister Cloud, and then I applied a Cutout (2, 2, 75, 2) to give it depth.
If you give this challenge a play, I'd love to see your creations! |

Oh , what a majestic tube you chose, Karla. I feel like I'm in the woods with the fairies and elves. I love the autumnal colors. I see you're really enjoying the glass filter LOL. I admit I glass almost all my text heehee. I'm curious to know how you chose that font. When I made my tag, I searched through all my fonts for the word "fairy" because the tube is a fairy. I wanted to see if any of the searched fonts grabbed me. Most times when I choose a font I look through certain categories of fonts, but I was impatient to make my tag so I did the word search instead. Luckily for me I found one I liked. Thanks for giving this challenge a play and for posting your results and settings . It's a beautiful tag! |

Wow, I love both of your tags. They are gorgeous!
I had a play and here is mine.
The rfont is Fishbowl and I used Filters Unlimited Paper Textures-Japanese paper to mke it look more like the texture of the tube.
It kinda looks like the curlicues could b waves, LOL.
Thanks for the challenge, timber. This was fun. |

Awww... Judy, what a precious tag! I'm such a fan of Juri Ueda's art. I love the name of the font you used LOL. Sounds like the perfect name to go with the theme of your tube. And I like how you thought to give your text a texture to match the tube! I do that sometimes too... when I remember . I agree with you; the curlicues look like waves. I think I'll have to choose a similar tube next time I make this tag. Thanks for having a play with this challenge and sharing your design thought process and tag details! Do you happen to have a tag with my name by chance? I'd love one if you do! |

I DID find one with your name on it. LOL Excuse my many typos. I try to catch them but, I'm not doing too well.
I still have my eye (laser surgery) coming up on the 17th. Hopefully that will help.
Here ya go. I'm glad you kie it.

Thanks so much, Judy! This is a typo-tolerant space, so you're all good . I'll keep you in my prayers for your upcoming surgery . |

Oh Judy, that is such a gorgeous tag! What a wonderful job with the look of the texture to match, colors and font!
Timber, your little dollie taggy is so cute! I love the little banner with your name to it too! I almost used a "fairy" type font but then realized DUH they are elves lol I did not go through my font list because I know it would take me forever so I just searched for an "elven font". I was able to find one that I thought went well :)

Heehee... I thought that might have been the case, Karla, I did the same! Isn't that a precious doll? She's one of my faves. I created the name plaque from two of the fishes. It's nice when you have an element of a doll animation that you can take and use in that way. |
