Awesome tut, timber.    The scripts run flawlessly.  I can't wait to play some more with different settings.

 

The only error I found was in the text of the tut under Setting up the Canvas:

The Custom Selection settings that I have used for the script are based on the font that I chose, Mocking Bird, the font size, and the Pungent palette.

 

Other that that it looks good.

Thank you  for catching those mistakes in the tutorial for me.  I posted the tutorial more hastily than I normally would, and I'm still going over it with a fine-tooth comb to make sure all my notes are added.

Your results are fabulous!   Did you run into any steps of the tutorial that you had trouble with?  Wasn't it fun to use the Pen Tool?   While looking up something in my Help menu I learned how to select the nodes and delete, so I wrote that into the tutorial; I had been selecting and deleting nodes differently, but this new way is soooo much easier and faster.  Thank you for testing this tutorial and for your feeback!

I can't remember if I wrote it into the tutorial about using palettes that are darker, but I tried a few lighter palettes and the chrome overlay "bleaches out" most of the color, so I have been experimenting with darker palettes.  For my "awesome" snag I used the Strawberry Fields palette.

I would like to try a different font, but I can't find another font that is like Billo where some of the letters are solid and others are outlined, but I love the peek-a-boo through the capital letters to see the animated motion trail within.  If you find any cool fonts to use, please let me know!

I loved this one Timber and it is what I was looking for to do the same as your signature in the drop shadow message board , so I would  hope you could let me know how I set up to get the text looking the same as yours .... I will be redoing this and others to try and get it right ... and I am using my old jasc psp 8 and finding it much easier to use ...
