 “And I composed a certain work wherein I rehearsed the secret of secrets, in which I have preserved them hidden…Also I have written them in this Key, so that as like a key openeth a treasure-house, so this (Key) alone may open the knowledge and understanding of magical arts and sciences”- Introduction to The Key of Solomon.
Reading The Key of Solomon the King, it becomes obvious whence the Circle-Casting component of modern Magickal-Ritual derives. Long considered an almost legendary manuscript (or more properly, a series of manuscripts, each bearing the same mutual title), this Foundational Work of medieval Magick and Western Occultism- which is very, very preoccupied with the Casting of Circles- is now made happily and conveniently available through Weiser Books’ 2006 reproduction of S. Liddell MacGregor Mathers’ definitive edition. Mathers (1854-1918), a leader in Britain’s Occult Revival in the late 1800s and co-founder of the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn, did the Magick-Using (Magick-Believing) world an immortal favor in his dedication to the service of the Clavicula. As esoteric scholar R.A. Gilbert notes in the Foreword to the Weiser reprint, the Key had never been published before Mathers’ edition in 1889. As Mathers says himself in his Preface (p. ix), until then the grimoire had “for centuries remained in Manuscript form inaccessible to all but the few fortunate scholars to whom the inmost recesses of the great libraries were open.”
Working from “several ancient” manuscripts preserved at the British Museum, “which all differ from each other in various points” (p. x), Mathers collated the various versions into a coherent whole, correcting various mistakes such as incorrectly given or indecipherably rendered Hebrew letters (the “restoration of the Hebrew letters in the body of the Pentacles has been a work of immense difficulty, and has extended over many years,” [p. 78]). Due to Mathers’ painstaking diligence, by the end of the nineteenth century and for the first time in history, the most famous of Magickal grimoires could be read widely; thanks to Weiser Books, Mathers’ work can be appreciated and studied today.

Attributed to King Solomon of the Old Testament, the Clavicula is an extremely Christian-Magickal tome (one wants either to adapt and “Paganize” the rituals, or to be really, really comfortable with invoking Angels and Archangels). As “Solomon” feels it important to coordinate rituals with the correct planetary alignments (“When, therefore, thou shalt wish to acquire the knowledge of Magickal Arts and Sciences, it is necessary to have prepared the order of hours and of days, and of the position of the Moon, without the operation of which thou canst effect nothing; but if thou observest them with diligence thou mayest easily and thoroughly arrive at the effect and end which thou desirest to attain” [Chapter I: Book I, page 10]), much discussion of the planetary hours and correspondences are given. “Prayers and Conjurations” follow; then “Stronger and More Potent Conjuration”; and lastly “An Extremely Powerful Conjuration” (Chapter VII: Book I). “Concerning the Medals and Pentacles, and the Manner of Constructing Them” receives appropriate study, as does such diverse topics as “Experiments Concerning Things Stolen” (the grimoire admirably resists the urge to pressure its readers, couching operations throughout as “experiments” such as might be undertaken in an adventurous mood); “Experiment of Invisibility”; “How to Render Thyself Master of a Treasure”; and “Of the Experiment of Seeking Favor and Love.”
Mathers performs a Ritual of Isis for the Golden Dawn
The thing that comes through the most strongly is how apparent it is that the Magickal Ritual inherited by us as “Gardnerian Witchcraft” or “Wicca” represents the Magickal Ceremony understood by the Middle Ages. “The Construction of the Circle” receives a detailed section of its own, between Chapters III and IV (p. 17); the importance of Quartering the Circle is consistently addressed (“thou shalt trace the Four Quarters of the Earth”; Chapter VII: Book II advises the “Master” to sound a trumpet towards the “four quarters of the Universe”): indeed, the Circle for Consecrating Pentacles, Figure 3 from Plate 1, looks exactly like a diagram for a Wiccan Altar lay-out. The independent Book of Shadows tradition is seemingly alluded to in Chapter XXI: Book II, “concerning characters, and the consecration of the Magickal Book,” or the Magickal volume intended to be maintained by the Master and his Disciples. Even the curious Witch’s side-note concerning garters (which for instance, play a controversial role in understanding the story of Edward III and the founding of England’s Order of the Garter) is apparently signaled by Chapter XII: Book I, “How to Make the Magic Garters” (p. 54). Finally, Mathers’ exhortation to his readers, from his Preface (p. x)- “Let him who, in spite of the warnings of this volume, determines to work evil, be assured that that evil will recoil on himself and that he will be struck by the reflex current”- sounds like an early expression of the Law of Threefold Return, or the Principle of Magickal Consequence.
Everyone with an interest in Magickal Ceremony owes a debt to The Key of Solomon, and to MacGregor Mathers for his efforts to reconcile the various manuscript-editions of the Key, preserving them in accessible form for subsequent generations. Even if one disagrees with the writer cited by R.A. Gilbert in the Foreword, that Magick is “a practical, intellectual, highly individualistic science, working towards the declared end of enlarging the sphere on which the human will can work, obtaining experimental knowledge of planes of being usually regarded as transcendental,” or with Gilbert’s statement on (p. vi), that Magick can serve as a way of bringing about change in the Magick-Worker on a “psycho-spiritual level”- one cannot argue with Gilbert’s assessment that the Key and ”related magical ritual texts are part of the intellectual and cultural inheritance” of civilized Western Culture, “worthy of study within the academic disciplines of comparative religion, psychology, and the history of ideas.” Assuming that the Juggler reader agrees with me that this is indeed important, Weiser Books’ preservation of Mathers’ definitive edition of the Key remains a vital step.

The precession of the equinoxes has to do with more than just the two different zodiac systems. As the equinoxes precess, they relate to the Great Ages of Man. These Ages mark different periods where significant evolutionary changes occurred. The Ages are defined by the Sidereal Sign that is the current location of the Vernal Point. Currently, the Spring Equinox (0° of Aries in the Tropical Zodiac) occurs at about 7° of the Sidereal Sign of Pisces and we will be in the Sign of Pisces until the Spring Equinox precesses into the Sidereal Sign of Aquarius, which will mark the beginning of the Age of Aquarius. (Even agreeing on this definition of the "Ages" there is much dispute as to the actual year that the "Age of Aquarius" will begin.
The general thoughts about the Age of Aquarius are that it will mark a period of enlightenment and freedom.
Precession of the Vernal Equinox.
When Moses threw out the golden calf, he knew it was the end of the Taurus Age or the fourth age in our present great year. He instructed his followers to get rid of the bull, put lambs' blood on the doors, and place Rams' horns in the temples. By looking at the Master Calendar, the Mazzaroth, or the Zodiac in the heavens, anyone could see that it was the dawning of the Age of Aries the ram or lamb. It was the start of the fifth age in our current great year

Our astrological birth signs no longer coincide with the sun's location in the constellations of the Zodiac because of precession. Even the Tropic of Cancer and the Tropic of Capricorn are now the Tropic of Taurus and the Tropic of Scorpio when we observe the sun on the solstices? Our astrologers and map makers neglected to update our present position in the cosmos for over 2,000 years. We are not the astrological birth signs the newspapers and a majority of the astrologers proclaim we are!
The North star (pole star) also changes with the precession of the equinoxes. The North star was Thuban (Alpha Draconis) when the Great Pyramid was constructed to align with true North. The descending passage of the Great Pyramid points to Thuban, the most accurately aligned pole star of all the North stars in the 25,800 (26920) -year cycle of our Earth.

Comprehend that the word sphinx means to bind or close a circle tightly, and that the Great Sphinx binds Virgo and Leo in the Zodiac on the ceiling of the Portico — at Esna's Khnum Temple. The Great Sphinx marks the "Happy New Year" of our present Platonic year, and Leo was the first age in this great year. Listen when the Vatican informs us every Christmas Eve, when it reads the ancient Calens (calendar) from Rome, that it was the sixth age or the Piscean Age when Jesus, the fisherman, was born 2,000 years ago. Even the ancient Persians called Polaris the "turning point star" 5,000 years before it became our current pole star between the sixth and seventh ages.
At one time in history, the Vernal Equinox used to indicate New Year's Day in our annual calendar until Julius Caesar moved it to January 1 in 45 BC. The names of our months still reflect March as the first month of the year. In Latin, Septem is seven, Octo is eight, Novem is nine, and Decem is ten. This is why the name of an age is determined by where the sun is on the Vernal Equinox. The megalithic monuments like Stonehenge, Chichen Itza, and Casa Grande are all trying to find the Vernal Equinox or the first day of spring in the Northern Hemisphere.
The ancients refer to the coupled-ages of Pisces and Aquarius in the great year as the time for the FisherMan or Merman to return from the sea. The old legends say that he will teach the people how to heal and govern themselves. (See dream of the Fisherman)
Our scientists inform us that, in the great year, we are dawning into the Age of Aquarius and leaving the Piscean Age. When someone says, its the dawning of the Age of Aquarius, that is no different then someone saying, it is the beginning of the month of July. Only, ages are around 2,150 (2160) years long, while months are made up of approximately 30 days.
Every culture had their own personal system to begin the new year and all nations, except for the Essenes, used a lunar calender consisting of 13 months and between 354 and 364 days. Enter Julius Caesar. With the help of an initiate named Sosigenes, the first calender reformed occurred. Taking the year 47 BC, at which time our January 1st would have fallen on October 13, he inserted two new months of 33 and 34 days between November and December. Then, he added an intercalary period of 23 days near February for a total length of 445 days. Macrobius called this long year, the last year of confusion. Beginning the next year, he started a new year of 365 days with a leap year every fourth year of 366 days. Had he asked, or maybe Sosigenes told him, but he could not wait, the Ancient Wisdom would have told him to begin the new year at a new moon on an equinox or solstice.
Julius did get one-half of it right. In 45 BC, the new moon occurred 7 days after the December 24th solstice, so he made December to have 30 days, and began the new year 7 days later on what he called the calends of January. Of course, it would have been better to have waited until a new moon coincided with the winter solstice, but that is how the new year begins on January 1st. Caesar harmonized the seasons with the calender, so that winter was again under the signs of Capricorn and Aquarius, except for the precession which no one then would have noticed.
Now the Julian year had 12 months, to which he assigned 30 days to even months and 31 days to odd months, with the exception of February, which had 29 days. Not to be outdone by his father, for whom the month of July was named, Augustus later renamed August and stole one day from February to give himself a 31 day immortal honor. Since the Julian calendar is 11 minutes and 14 seconds longer than the tropical year of the seasons, by 1583 the year was about 10 days behind the seasons (one day in 128 years). Pope Gregory XIII introduced a reform to delete a leap year every century mark except the fourth.
The second change occurred at that famous Council of Nicea held in 325 AD by Constantine the Great. Then the good church fathers decreed that the months be forever fixed, so that on whatever day the vernal equinox occurred, it would arbitrarily be called March 21st and the remainder of the year to adjust accordingly. Since then, instead of the equinoctial point moving steadily thru one month to another to reflect the precession, the first day of spring and Aries is fixed and the months move slowly away backwards.
With the calender now adjusted for a fixed tropical year, we can look at the remainder of the great cycle upon which all occult time is reckoned. The actual rate of precession is equal to 1 degree every 72 years or according to Newcomb in 1925, 50.2610" per year. Therefore, at this precessional rate, the sun travels westward thru an entire sidereal zodiac house (30 degrees X 72) every 2,160 years.
The Numbers of the Platonic Year
Since ancient times, the natural constant of the movements of the point of sunrise, the intersection between equator and eclipse at equinox and solstice in one year was 50 ". In the equation:

72 earth years amount to one degree of the Zodiac. One Platonic day lasts 72 earth years. One Platonic month covers a period of 30 Platonic days, or 2160 earth years. Twelve Platonic months give the Platonic year, which lasts 360 x 72 = 25920 earth years. This system, already used in Chaldaeic astronomy, orientates itself by the numbers 6 and 12, out of which 72 is the product. Each Platonic month was related to one starsign, or Zodiac sign. The length of each of the twelve starsigns are different - they are not evenly spaced at 30-degrees each around the 360-degrees of the ecliptic path in the sky. Therefore, the real duration of time in each starsign is not usually equal to a Platonic month. Guenther Wachsmuth listed the duration times in a table:

Only the duration of Scorpio is identical with the length of the Platonic month. Seurig and Baumann came across such numbers again and again in their research into the constructions of the ancient builders.
The World of Numbers of the Planets
Prehistoric constructors obviously had a knowledge of the planets that had been passed down to them from even more ancient times (see Otto Apelt's Translation of Plato's Timaeus, Leipzig 1919). With their help, the three-dimensional relationships were explained, while the Zodiac served to show the course of time. The basis was the supposed agreement of the musical seven-step scale and the "seven" of the then-known planets, including the sun and moon. From this interval, the equation 2 x 3 x 8 x 8 = 384 was determined. Surprisingly, the distance between moon and Earth is 384,000 kilometers; the 384 in a relationship of 1 : 1000. By using the Tetractys, the holy four-count of the Pythagorans, the multiple of it is seen in this pyramid:

There are "problems" with figures in this table, such as the figures given for Venus, Mercury, and the sun, but Seurig and Baumann say it is not relevant to their investigations. The numbers were used as ratios in prehistoric astronomy, similar to the numbers of the Zodiac.
Now we have to deviate from the material presented from other places and insert various dreams and writings which point to the fact that we are already in the transition between Pisces to Aquarius.
A few days ago, I found a great connection in the quatrains of Nostradamus. It is in Century 4, Quatrains 28-33.

This concerns the theories of alchemists about the sun (sulfur), the moon (salt), and Mercury (quicksilver). The glyphs on the corners of the triangle of Barbury Castle Crop Circle which appeared in 1991 are said to parallel these alchemical signs.
Their work involved the attempt to transmuting elements, such as lead into gold, and finding a substance that gave eternal life. This became centered on cinnabar, the Hell Fire Stone, which is the ore of mercury, sulfuric sulfide.
I believe it is symbolic of reaching the Trinity level of the Christ-Self, and eternal life.
The Age of Aquarius ...The New Age, refers to the Second Coming of Christ which occurs when one works to attain the Christ-Self Consciousness.
Another symbol of the New Age ... Aquarius - is the story of King Arthur returning which refers to the Second coming of the Christ. This is connected to the Grand Cross in the Sky when we have the Total Solar Eclipse on Aug. 11, 1999 which occurs at 11:11 a.m. in Cornwall, England. Nostradamus also said in C10, Q74 - "The year of the great seventh number accomplished, it will appear at the time of the games of slaughter, not far from the age of the great millennium, when the dead will come out of their graves." (this seems to be a metaphor about the death/rebirth of changing, transforming).
There were six steps on the ratchet/Mercury spiral of Barbury Castle Crop Circle. The angle from the center of the triangle to the southwest corner was at 120 degrees. From that point to the center of the ratchet, it was 108 degrees, a mythical/Gematrian number. 120 is a tetrahedral point. 120 x 108 = 12,960, six raised to the fourth power times ten, and half the precession number. Divided by the six arcs, it is 2,160, six to the third times ten, and the number of years in one Zodiac Age.
There was an additional clue in the date the pattern appeared, July 17, 1991. Read Genesis 8:4, where the Ark landed on the 17th day of the 7th month. Blavatsky tells how the Patriarchs represent Zodiac signs. For example, Judah is Leo. In Genesis 49:9, he is called a lion's welp, and he stoops down like a lion and lioness. (i. e., like a Sphinx). Noah is Pisces. These are strong clues that our Age is coming to an end, and Aquarius is near. (if not already begun). The Sphinx may well represent the same thing, that is, the Ages from Leo through Pisces, and the beginning of Aquarius.
About six months after I realized the number connection in Barbury Castle Crop Circle, a man at work told me a dream. He was in an airliner driven on a highway by a water treatment plant operator named, Andy. There was a detour because of construction. Then, he was with his boss, an engineer, and a woman. They were planning to install a new transformer at the water treatment plant, under a grill. The woman whispered something into the engineer's ear.
This is a form of the Trinity, I have found a number of times in dreams. It is the Triple Male Trinity with the combined consorts as the single feminine Deity, or First Power. Together, the make the Perfect Four. The (real life) boss's name in this dream translates to "the guardian of knowledge).
I asked if the dreamer knew which highway he was on. He said, yes, it was the highway that runs from Oakdale (California, about 20 miles from his home), toward Yosemite. That section of highway is where highways 120 and 108 RUN TOGETHER!
I had another dream in which I was helping disabled people to repair their lamps (the light of Second Coming of Christ) and the parts place was on 108th St.
Recently I had a dream in which the Old Woman (the Yuga in power) was going to be deposed and they wanted me to become the new goddess along with the Old Woman's two daughters. The Triple goddess is representative of the consorts of the Triple Male which is also the Trinity. I have had numerous dreams about the Triple goddesses and the Triple males within the last year. (1997-1998)
Another dream was one of the Old Woman who brought in her young grandchild and turned her over to me before she fell over dead and the little child was asked to name all the animals like Adam had in the Garden of Eden. Another sign that a New Age was coming in.
At the same time, I and many other people have had numerous WATER DREAMS in which the water was either being spilled, or roaring up on shore of the ocean and a recent one in which I had to measure the rain which was beginning to fall in a fine mist but would ultimately accumulate to 71 inches. I had to quickly put up the tube that would measure that rain before it got any heavier.
This all leads me to believe the the transition has already begun of the transformation from the Age of Pisces to the Age of Aquarius. One can see this from the numerous web sites about the New Consciousness which people are attaining and of the Awakening that is occurring all over the globe. Dreams which show the awakening of people are numerous as well.
With the coming of the Age of Aquarius, we will see a transition from the patriarchal institutions and religions to those which are run by the 'feminine principle' and influence which teach that free thinking, creativity, intuition, are foremost, and that the education and nurturing of the children and the enhancement of the quality of life for all people will be uppermost on the agenda.
The sign of Aquarius is two parallel lines of waves, The meaning of this sign is "the dissolution of forms," it does not represent water as one might expect. Aquarius is an air sign, and is the 'water bearer'. The forms that may be dissolving under the influence of the patriarchal systems of government, church, and family. The waves that are dissolving them are the figurative waters of the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Truth. This truth is on the airwaves, the waves of mass communication and the free press, which have made our globe, the Earth, into a village. The artificial barriers of nation, race, and creed, are breaking down, allowing individuals to see themselves as one flesh with all creation. The space flights of recent decades have enabled us to see 'from a distance' our whole planet as it really is with no fences, no barriers, no walls, no lines of demarcation between one or the other.
Our entire history has been steeped in Astrology from as far back as we can go in written language. The studies have been couched in symbolism over the years so that it could be practiced in safety outside of the patriarchal religions which attempted to wipe out everything that didn't conform to their power and authority.
In the Middle Ages during the time of Pisces which symbol was of two fishes going in opposite directions, the study of alchemy was not primarily the search for a metallurgic formula to turn lead into gold, but refer to the transmutation of a natural person into a spiritual person. The Gospel tenets are of service and sacrifice. The transformed person is often equated with wisdom, and the sacred form of holiness/wholeness.
With the coming of Aquarius, we will find that the institutions of the word will be reunited with the feminine counterpart which has been missing and this reunion results in the blessings of joy, and fertility of the union between the two, which will spread to family and community. The woundedness of the past will be healed and transformed.

The three times three ritual is a picture of the triquetra which is a form of the number 666. The triquetra is also a symbol of the triple helix of DNA which will be discussed in more detail, Yah willing, in the last section of this series on DNA.

Babylonian astrologers divided the starry heavens into 36 constellations (ten days each). These were represented by different amulets called “Sigilla Solis,” or the Sun Seal. These amulets were worn by the pagan priests and they contained all the numbers from 1 to 36. By these figures they claimed to be able to foretell future events. These amulets were usually made of gold, yellow being the sun color. While being carried, these amulets were wrapped in yellow silk, as it was thought that the bearer would thus receive the beneficent powers believed to emanate from that jewel. Adding the numbers of any column either horizontally or vertically, and also the two diagonals crossing the square, the total is the same — 111. The sum of the six columns, either horizontally or vertically, is 666. The illustrations below taken from actual amulets in the Berlin Museum.
 “The second illustration is also a solar seal, but it honors the star Basilisco, which was the diminutive form of the Greek basileus (king), thus meaning the same as the Latin regulus. Now, Regulus is the only first-magnitude star in the constellation of Leo. The sun and the moon are again clearly seen on this amulet, and on the reverse side is the same arrangement of numerals, with the actual figure given of the total 666.”
[The lower coin shows the conjunction of the Sun, Moon and the star Regulus in the constellation of Leo the Lion that occurred on 19 August 1705.
Table #1 as illustrated above is also referred to in numerology as the magic Square of the Sun. There are similar magic squares for Saturn, Jupiter, Mars, Venus, Mercury and the Moon, all of which have been known for centuries.
So 666 is a number associated with pagan sun-worship, which originated in the mysteries of ancient pagan Babylon. In Revelation 666 is associated with the number of the beast (from the sea), the Antichrist, and the harlot church of Mystery Babylon.
 The “devil’s triad” 5th harmonic .666 looks like an inverted shin. The 'devil's triad' or tritone is the harmonic that is used to make sinister music for horror movies and in olden times Monks refused to sing it because it was considered evil. It looks like an inverted Hebrew letter shin, which is connected with 666 and the sun.
 Interestingly,there is a verse in Scripture which has a word which equals 666 in it which connects to this 'inverted shin'.
1Sa 13:21 And the sharpening charge was a pim for the plowshares, and for the mattocks, and for the three (666)pronged forks, and for the axes, and for setting the plowshares.
The word for mark in Hebrew is associated with farming, in particular plowing a field which links with the above verse. The root word for mark is a picture of an ox plowing toward a mark. In ancient Hebrew thought, Elohim was seen as the strong ox that we are yoked with in covenant relationship. The word for mark is a picture of walking with your Elohim toward your mark/goal (Philippians 3:14).
The number 3 is also linked to resurrectionclick here. A false resurrection/born again experience is what the mark of the beast is all about. Interestingly, the letter gimel is equivalent to the number 3. In Kabbalistic thought, the came represents the serpent in the Garden of Eden. This is yet another link to the tree of knowledge of good and evil and the false resurrection.

One of the most ancient midrashic texts, written by Rabbi Eliezer, suggests that the serpent who seduced Eve had the appearance of a camel. Most people have never heard this idea. The Jewish oral tradition goes on to say that the angel Samael, otherwise known as Satan, rode this camel. Many say that the serpent itself was Satan.
When Rabbi Eliezer says that the serpent represented a camel, he is alluding to the number three. The word camel in Hebrew is gamal, which is the same as word as the Hebrew letter gimel. Gimel in the Hebrew alphabet represents the number three. Mathematically, the number three is necessary for the physical world--which is three dimensional--composed of three lines of direction: north-south, east-west, and up-down.
The letter G symbol of freemasonry traces back to the Hebrew letter gimel and interestingly links to the serpent as well. It is said that the letter G also represents the ouroboros, the snake eating it's tail which represents immortality/resurrection.

Masonic writers also speak of the letter G tracing back to the Hebrew letter yod which was used as an abbreviation by Kabbalists for the Sacred Name of Elohim.

Albert Pike associates the Great Secret of Freemasonry with the discovery of the Alchemists “Philosopher’s Stone.”
The philosopher's stone is a legendary substance, allegedly capable of turning inexpensive metals into gold. It was sometimes believed to be an elixir of life, useful for rejuvenation and possibly for achieving immortality. For a long time, it was the most sought-after goal in Western alchemy. In the view of spiritual alchemy, making the philosopher's stone would bring enlightenment upon the maker and conclude the Great Work. It is also known by several other names, such as 'materia prima.' Ultimately, it is about bringing heaven down to earth. Or the Sun (father) joining with the earth (mother) according to occult belief. This will need to be discussed in greater detail in another study, Yah willing.
 
The tri-quetra is another subject that will need to be addressed in more detail in another study. It is connected strongly to the 'Philosopher's stone' and the 'new man', homo-noeticus.
