Naughty Angel
This "forum style" tutorial was quite easy to do. The only plugin filter used was Xero Fritillary.
For the background layer, I used MuRa's Copies (line preset, number=4-6) to fill the layer with my tube before applying the motion blur and twirl.
When I made my tag, I couldn't see the setting for the twirl, so I used 333 instead of 300, but I'm sure that doesn't make much difference in the effect.
For my fritillary layer, I used Hard Light (blend mode) and opacity=50 instead of the settings from the tutorial. You will have to play with the settings depending on whether you have lighter or darker colors in the tube that you choose.
I skipped the avatar section.
I used a different drop shadow setting, but I forgot to write it down.
I didn't use the Foto Frame filter to create my frame. To create the frame, I hid all layers except for the background (white), background (motion blur, twirl), and the fritillary layer. Then I selected all (canvas), copy merged, added a new layer and pasted into the selection, mirrored the selection, applied the fritillary filter (same settings), contracted the selection by 4, deleted the selection, select none, then changed the blend mode to exclusion.
Then to set the frame off from the rest of the image I first selected a small portion (about 15x15) from the "bra" of the mermaid. Then I selected inside the frame, added a new layer, pasted the 15x15 bit into the selection, contracted by 1, deleted the selection, then selected none. By pasting a small portion of an image into a large selection you get a sort of gradient effect. I use it for my text all the time instead of using a solid color. Sometimes I use a solid color but a lot of the times the solid color looks flat and this method creates a more blended coloration. The border around this message is a small piece spread through a large section creating a random gradient effect.
The font I used for my text is Inspiration and for the image credit I have used Pixelette (size 6).
Have fun with this one; I can't wait to see your results. |
