I was going to write a detailed, lengthy note to explain everything about my situation so that everyone could understand, but I`ve decided to keep it short (as short as I can in my wordy sort of way LOL).
- I would like a space (a group, a forum, whatever you want to call it) where we can get together to play with PSP and keep in touch with each other.
- I would rather not be the manager of the group as it requires work and I`d rather spend my time playing, learning and teaching rather than spending it administering. I have stepped up in the past and taken the Admin position in order to give us a place to play. But I have been ill and went absent and then mostly everyone else disappeared too. The group that I set up was supposed to be a place where you could play and not a place for you to "follow" me. The group is not about me, I don`t want it to be. I would be happy to know where you all are playing and I could join those groups.
- I will not be writing formal tutorials any longer, so I don`t need a separate group just to upload my tutorials to. Writing formal tutorials is laborious. But I certainly do not mind writing a quick, shorthand kind of tut giving details about how I made one of my tags. That is no problem.
- If you would like a group for us girls, I would be happy for that. I am happy to continue here at Gabitos for that purpose. But I have received feeback that sounds like this may not be the place. That would be for you to decide. I am not attached to any place; I am attached to you all, my friends. I have been using Gabitos for a few weeks now, and for the most part I am happy with how it works. But I am not the only one to consider. I just want a place where we can gather and be happy.
- If no one wants to step up and be the leader and create a space for us to play in, then I will do it. But I do not want the place to be considered as timber`s group. I want it to be OUR group. If I am absent for a time, I would hope that you would still continue to visit and play. Don`t you remember how we kept playing at Kat Korner even though Kat was absent? And we continued to play at Delights even though Dy was absent. It would be the same here (or wherever we choose). The place that I set up would be your group as well as mine.
- I volunteer to be the admin and to do that sort of thing, but I do not want to be the leader. I don`t want the responsibility of setting up challenges and that sort of thing. Each member can step up and start something like that on their own.
In parting, this is my position. I want to keep in touch with you and have a place to play with you. You are my girls, and I value your friendship. I do not care where it is or who is the admin or manager. I will step up and take on the admin duties to create a space for all of us to play, but I will not be the leader, i.e. the person that everyone looks to in order to keep the group alive.
I would love to know where you all have been playing at.
I have recently joined Gran`s Aimoo group, Gran`s Shuga Shack now called SGS, to test whether Aimoo would be a good place to create a play space. Like with any forum, there are positive and negatives that I have discovered. I have also just joined another PSP group that Cindy told me about. The manager is a friend of ours from a group that spun off from PSP Addicts R Us. From what I can see they like to play with lots of artist tubes and scrap kits, so I don`t know how that will go as I would much rather play with smileys, animations, and dolls. But the group is on a different forum and I would like to check that out; it`s a forumotion group.
Please give me your feedback and let me know what you think. What is your position? |

Thank you, Lynne!
I like it here at Gabitos, too. I like what I am able to do in terms of HTML and CSS and I am enjoying learning new things in that regard. I miss some of the perks of the other forums like post editing and sticky posts and alphabetizing and those kinds of things, but I don`t like all the stuff with the admin panel; it`s just too much for my brain LOL.
So here is where I will remain . |
