Karla, I saw somewhere else that you found the teal-colored tag that I made for you, and you're very welcome! Is your SBP still working? If you get back to playing with this tutorial and need any help, then just ask. I'm sure Judy can help, or I can.
Judy, you're very welcome! You know, if you ever forget how to do something in PSP, I highly recommend using the built-in Help (Help>Help Topics). Click the Index tab then type what you're looking for in the keyword box. I have forgotten a few things while I was away from my PSP and I was able to find the help in this way. When I write tutorials I use the Help to give me the technical term for something, and in the process I end up learning something new which is always exciting to me.
Thank you for the "Thanks" snags
. Slipperylip is one of my favorite fonts!
So I saw your Etched Glass tag, and I went to see if I have the preset and I do, so I think it's one of the installed presets that comes with SBP. I had played with this preset some time ago and I made something really pretty but I didn't save my tag because I thought for sure I'd remember the steps. But I got busy and have been away from this for so long that I wasn't able to recreate the tag that I had made. Many times when I'm in a hurry I will take a screenshot of my canvas and a settings window, but I didn't for this tag, so c'est la vie
.
Tonight I picked this up again and started to play, and I was looking at new things and tried something new for this tag.
I made a second version with an animated background and I can't decide if I like it or not. I kind of like how it looks like it has sparkle on it but it also looks kind of crazy
LOL. The outcome is influenced by the rotation of the environment map. I'm curious to know what you girls think.
I had fun playing with something new and experimenting with creating a decorative background for the text. That's not always so easy to do and I was up for the challenge. There's a lot of steps for this tag, as with many of my text tags, and I would be happy to share any details that you may be interested in.
What I will tell you is that I finally used something new called Adjustment Layer. I don't know if I've ever used an adjustment layer before, but I saw Posterize on the list of adjustments so I clicked it because I was curious to see what it does. Normally this Etched Glass preset is quite dark, but by using the Posterize adjustment layer (level=2) it made the preset much brighter and more colorful.
I have three layers for the animation, I used Distortion Effects>Wind on the background, and the name of the font is
Orbus Bjorkus. I love my crazy, decorative fonts!
